Copper Black

I get the similarities with Benz Club Black. It's like a more relaxed, less vanilla-forward (but definitely still there, and pretty strong) and rounded out version of that scent - and for less than half the price. I definitely pick up some cardamom and light booziness as others have mentioned. Boss Bottled Oud is one of my all time favorite designer fragrances and I was hoping this wouldn't be too similar to the Bottled line with the apple note, and can happily say it's not - in fact, I can't pick up apple at all unless I'm really looking for it. Performance is about what you'd expect from a genuine cheapie (I got my bottle for $18 from a popular online discounter), being firmly moderate. I suspect this would be a good one to layer with something spicy. Overall, awesome value and a great little scent overall. I can see men of all ages pulling this one off in any season except summer, though I'd say it leans more leisure than office. It's different and cheaper enough than MB Club Black to be worth adding to the collection even (or especially?) if you like/own that one.

Soft vanilla spice. That’s my best summary. The scent profile itself is wonderful. 10/10. However - it’s weak. Very weak. You have to dig to find it. But once found - yes - amazing. Typically I really don’t take into consideration the performance of a fragrance...but with this being as soft as it is - and lacking projection (I sprayed 10+) - it’s hard not consider that. It’s a formula that has been done before - but again, I just absolutely love the final product. If this were an edp or something that performed better, it would quite honestly be my favorite scent. It has a soft vanilla spice - with a touch of woods. It’s comforting - smooth - date night material. For the price, It’s hard to complain - but damn I wish it performed better. It kind of reminds me of a more masculine midnight in Paris. Or maybe Keith urban Phoenix but without the deep booze. Give it a try. It’s a good one. 7/10

Very complex for the price point, it actually has a unique smell, which is hard to do now days, It doesn't smell like a clone at all. Every note listed is present, I enjoy the light but rich character which again is difficult to pull off, this fragrance manages to pull it off and do it well, It's simple enough for everyday wear and complex enough for special nights, I'd also say this is versatile enough to be a unisex fragrance, if I had to find a con it'd be Intensity could be stronger, but I think that would push it on the Men's fragrance side it would lose it's unisex character. I'm happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it, I interested to see how it performs in Summer weather.. 💭🤔😏

This is an amazing scent at the price point. The boozy whiskey goes great with the woody notes, leather, creamy vanilla + tonka. The fruity notes and ginger give it a nice sweet & spicey combo as well. It's a cheap one that you don't mind wearing to the gym or on casual errands. The major downside is that I have come across few fragrances that perform this poorly. I wouldn't buy this if you hope to use it for any sort of occasion or to be noticed because it won't last long, even if you shower in the fragrance.

I have both montblanc legend night and copper black. I firstly got montblanc then copper black. this one is like 50% similar to montblanc legend night. and other 50% is totally different story. to my nose I love both and this is better. it's more warm and manly

Nice vanilla boozy scent. I love the black line from Kenneth Cole and think it’s a underrated scent. But this one hits on all cylinders for me.

Boozy whiskey, vanilla and spicy cardamom, with a leather undertone. Perfection! 👌🏾 10/10

Kenneth Cole fragrances are similar to most Calvin Klein releases, they smell good, but just do not really last. Kenneth Cole fragrances typically last 3/4, 5 hours tops. Copper Black, continues that trend. It smells really good though. Kenneth Cole Copper Black opens with a strong apple note as well as a boozy undertone from the bourbon. As the top fades away, it shows leather and cardamom as well as the bourbon. The base still feels boozy but has a vanilla. Copper Black smells like several fragrances. From my experiences with Montblanc Legend Night, this does smell like it. It also smells like Bath and Body Works Whiskey Reserve. It has some similarities to Cremo Bourbon and Oak and Bourbon Vanilla. That said, I do not really notice similarities to Distillers' Blend, Black Spice and Vanilla (both by Cremo) or English Laundry Windsor. Windsor is much more complex, the Spice and Vanilla is much more striped down while Distiller's Blend is far more vetivery. Copper Black as mentioned, lasts 3/4 hours on my skin. Even with spraying it several extra times. Seriously, I sprayed it like 7 times tonight and I barely smell it. That is the one knock I have on this fragrance and honestly most Kenneth Cole releases. Copper Black is best used for fall and winter. I can see this working for work, casual and dates. If you want to wear this in a bar, layer this on top of Montblanc Legend Night (though this is a bit of a redundant purchase if you own that.) I say work since it is a light scent. Copper Black is very much a nightime scent. Copper Black is nice, but easy to over look. The fragrance is rather too expensive. I got this at Black Friday sales pricing and I think that is just enough. I paid $25 for 50ml and I think $26 would be too much. It is not a thing of me wanting fragrances to be discounted, it really is not worth the standard pricing. If you want a boozy Legend Night, wait for this to hit discounters because paying $40, 50, 60 at Kohl's or Macy's is unacceptable for this fragrance. For this reason, I rate it a 6.8 out of 10. I do like and enjoy it, but because of performance issues, I think discounters are indeed the way to go for Copper Black and you can and should wait on it.

My husband is the epitome of a dark, amber, musk cologne lover and this one was right up has alley when I was browsing at Burlington for a possible replacement for his Bath & Body Works’ Bourbon, and he this one actually having bourbon notes is what sold him on it. Firstly, I gotta say, I like the bottle design. I’m a sucker for weirdly, cutesy shaped bottles, and although this one isn’t as weird as some others I’ve seen at Burlington, (looking at you, Red Door) the short, squat, rounded bottle is so unique and really fits the whole Black set of these Kenneth Cole fragrances. I always lift it to my face to get a good look at it whenever it happens to be sitting out on our sink when my husband uses it. As for the scent itself, it’s everything the notes describe it as. It’s very masculine, dark, and feels like it was meant to be used for in cold weather. I love it! But the only issue I have with it is that it tends to not last very long. When first sprayed, it makes itself known and wants you to know it’s there but giving you a rough slap in the face with it’s edgy, masculine scent, but then within an hour or two becomes an extremely intimate scent that I basically have to smell my husbands’ skin to get any of it, and I actually prefer it that way. It’s our intimate scent, and he always uses it when he knows we’re going to be spending time cuddling on the couch or in bed, and I love being able to get a whiff of it whenever he moves, making me want to get in closer for more of it.

Classy. Easy. Fun. Warm. Inviting. A young business person having a night out friends. Fun with an edge. This fragrance is cool as fuck. With a dominating Whiskey, Warm Spice and Guaiac Wood that plays strongly throughout, and some soft powdery touches as it progresses, albeit rather quickly, this fragrance has the elegance of a brisk night out in a poppin’ city. New York City, to be precise. It’s the opening that grabs me. There’s something sharp in that first spray. Aptly resembling the name; Copper.. It just feels proud. Risky. New Money. Suits and rambunctiousness. It's youthful with confidence. Perfect for late 20s. As it's been stated, it falls a little short with the performance. But honestly.. give yourself a few extra sprays before you head out, and you're good to go. You won’t choke out a room. It’ll linger lightly around you for the night. I'd suggest 6-8, and make sure you get some on your clothes for longevity. Thank me later. For now, get out there and have some fun on the town with people who celebrate you. This fragrance warrants it. 7.5/10

Only decent ! Not horrible but one of the most forgettable blind buys This opens up with a very present cardamom note with some green appl giving this a pleasant,fruity and fresh spicy vibe. I do enjoy the opening The mid is where this gets flat as the apple fades and the cardamom and whiskey note kind of clash making this a bit confusing and unbalanced. It's not bad smelling by any means but it's pretty bland and uninteresting. The drydown to my nose is the best part as you are still left with cardamom but at this stage it blends really nicely with the vanilla. The drydown is my favorite part of this fragrance but the problem is at this stage Copper Black has very little projection and is a very faint skin scent. Performance- this lasts 4-5 hours on my skin with projection for 15 minutes before it dies down quickly. After 30 minutes it's a very faint skin scent. For some skin chemistries I can see this working great but on me it's only decent at best Overall rating -6.5 out of 10 !

If you read some of the reviews here, you would think this is an extremely weak fragrance which it's not. It's not close to a powerhouse, either. It will project to within arm's length for the first hour and then sit closer to the skin for the next 2 hours or so. You'll get whiffs of it here and there during that period before it becomes a skin scent. Could it be more intense? No question. However, it's a nice smelling fragrance with a good boozy note at the beginning. Would I recommend buying it? No because it doesn't fit my nuclear powerhouse fragrance desires. More than anything suggested so far, this reminds me of Clubman's Brandy Spice Reserve Aftershave. Hopefully the bottle macerates a bit and the mixture gets stronger than its current cologne strength. 8/22/2022 Update - Over spraying makes a world of difference with this one. 12 to 15 sprays lasted over 8 hours with whiffs of it without trying for much of that time!

Kenneth Cole Copper Black Longevity: Nonexistent Silage: 5/10 Scent Profile: 8.8/10 Copper Black is a fragrance with an extremely seductive and smooth vanilla woody scent profile. It has the strength within it's scent. However, the longevity is a disgrace to the earth, and I just can't justify wearing it. Anyways, the fragrance starts off with an apple, ginger, cardamom, and vanilla opening, before transitioning into a bourbon vanilla and whiskey cardamom mid, before finishing with that unique guaiac wood note, along with the boozy vanilla. To sum the scent profile up, it's similar to Azzaro The Most Wanted Parfum, but with way less ginger and apple, and more vanilla and whiskey. If only it lasted decently long. 7.4/10

I got this for pretty cheap at a T. J. Maxx, and I think it was very much worth it. As others have mentioned it does NOT last long on its own, probably 1-3 hours depending on what you're doing. I tend to put on unscented lotion after my perfume and it honestly lasted at least 6 hours. Moderate sillage for the first 2, an intimate sillage after. The cardamon, ginger, and leathers are pretty prominent until the scent starts to fade a litte,, then it smells like the best baking vanilla every if you drank it straight from the bottle. Not even hyperbole. I was making a homemade coffee vanilla coffee creamer today, added some bourbon vanilla bean paste, and tasted some straight, out of curiosity. Identical.

A beautiful fragrance for the winter. Like others have said, it takes literally like 8 sprays to get this thing to project, but it lasts a good amount (6-8 hrs) if sprayed liberally (8-12 sprays hahaha). Very well balanced fragrance. Sweet, boozy vanilla with just enough spice. I personally think the drydown has some similarities to spicebomb extreme! I really like this one, just wish it performed better.

Smells like a wonderful vanilla that unfortunately has a cheap and overall metallic tone. Still is a wonderful cheapie never pay more than 25 for this.

Good fragrance. Reminds me of Spicebomb original but more animalic. 7/10. Could last longer.

Well. It is nice, but as mentioned in other reviews the smell is very week even if you smell it directly from the skin, so it's not very practical to actually wear unfortunately. I got a tester out of curiosity but should I bought it for the full price I would be quite disappointed.

Man the projection and longevity is the worst in my collection and I have hundreds. But the smell, when I can smell it is fantastic!

#298 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is the last of the ten Kenneth Cole scents I purchased for evaluation. I've done Black, Black Bold, Vintage Black, Reaction, Mankind Hero, Mankind Legacy, Mankind Ultimate, Blue, Kenneth Cole, RSVP, and they all share one common failure: all non-performers that you can literally bathe in, soak your clothes in, and two hours later never know you applied it. You can lodge other complaints about all these scents, about how generic the scent is, or why melons and cucumbers? But the real reason to not waste your money on a Kenneth Cole scent is they never ever perform. Copper Black, I will note, performs the best of them all (including Black Bold, supposedly an EDP that's as weak as the original EDT). Even at twelve sprays you won't get two hours out of this fragrance, which is a bummer as it is a great scent for about a half hour. Unfortunately, this scent won't last till lunchtime no matter how much you spray and why would anyone put up with that? There may not be a lot of better options for the money, but there are hundreds of better options, and you should save your shekels for one of those and not waste your money on this feeble fragrance.

Found this today at Burlington after not seeing it for over a year or more. I'd been regretting not picking it up way back before...but now I've got it. So far, I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised. With most fragrances, the leather note takes over the ENTIRE fragrance and messes it up for me. This one...it doesn't do that! The leather note is balanced and it's there...but not overpowering everything else! I can still pick up the apple and cardamom easily and the vanilla smooths the whole composition out. I think I'd rather wear this than the "AB Spirit Millionaire" that I have...or maybe a mix of the two. Either way...this is a NICE middle-of-the-road apple frag that won't offend anyone and can be worn in any situation. It feels light enough to wear in the summer also, which is great because I've been looking for a lightweight summer apple frag. Sometimes Eros EDP is too thick/heavy for high heat. EDIT: Not sure what the heck happened, but either I'm anosmic to this or it just stopped working. I sprayed this on skin 2x and it literally disappeared. Either way, I'm returning this for a refund.

I disliked Black, Black Bold, and now for this one. It does have a more than slight similarity to the regular black version, so it is an obvious flanker, but this takes it into a different direction. It takes it into a more warm fruity Tonka direction. Now that is an interesting turn, but that particular accord seems to be a bit common/generic to me in lesser expensive fragrances. So, unless you really like that, I think it’s even less appealing than the first two, which are actually OK if you like black pepper a lot.

This is, without exaggeration, the most quintessential "mall smell" I have ever encountered. It’s intensely synthetic, with sharp notes of overwhelming metallic peppery rum. The scent is aggressively strong and highly permeating impossible to ignore and difficult to wash off. inexpensive USA mall colognes altogether smell identical to this, mass-produced, masculine, and lacking subtlety or sophistication. You will not smell unique with this, and I will likely get a headache near you if you wear it.

Love it have been looking for a dark men fragments and this is it. Very boozy and smoky but yet very weak maybe like 30 minutes with 2 sprays then die out. Smell like burned tires yet sweet with that vanilla to soften and sweetened it down. I have 2 kind of fragments scent that I would call it a self scent or a projectile scent. This is more of a self scent like a lone wolf or cuddle scent that's doesn't last long with 1 or 2 sprays and is for your own personal smell if you know what I mean then there's the projectile scent which is for of course to stand out to be noticed. Projectile scent trends to be stronger and longer lasting than a self scent with lesser spray. If you wants projectile then spray 10 to 12 times to stand out with this cologne. Update 11/30/22: Now it's weird last about 4 hours then woody for another 6 hours. The burned smelling is from the leather note and this trend more for a biker or leather type person.

The prominent notes to me are Cardamom, Booze & Leather. The Apple & Ginger is subtle. As it dries down, the Guaiac Wood and a mellow Vanilla comes out and the mid notes stick around. In the extreme dry down it smells like straight Vanilla. This starts out with pretty good projection & sillage but then kinda falls off a cliff pretty quickly. I get about 3-4 hours longevity on this fragrance but it becomes a complete skin scent after less than an hour. Bottle is a nice copper & black gradient & the cap is cheap plastic and copper in color. Atomizer is decent. Probably better for slightly cooler nights IMO. Got this at Burlington for $28, so i guess my expectations should be too high performance-wise but it does smell pretty nice, I'll give it that.

I can hardly smell this. I think I can smell a sort of apple-cidery vanilla-ness that I like, and there’s unfortunately a lot of standard male aquatic feel to this that makes it boring., There might also be some screamwood. Disappointing, but not surprising. There is a great deal of the synthetic behind the other nice notes. Not in an unpleasant way, but it makes that shrieky note louder on my skin. I'll pass.

Pretty good fragrance, I love soft leather fragrances and this definitely fits that category. I just wish it would last longer, I get maybe 2 hours max, I scored a 50ml for 8$ though so it’s definitely worth it. Also this actually might be the worst atomizer I’ve ever had on a fragrance, it sprays like a stream.

This is delicious. Its a softer montblanc legend night or can be a member of the armani code family. But if you want something more potent, go with legend night. Can't really go wrong with this one tho!
