Another Good Surprise! My second Blind Buy and this is better than I was expecting. Black is very fresh, clean, spicy, young, a little dark, smoky and creamy. It starts a little generic: citrus, green, Iced and spicy. Something at the open is very sintetic and I don't know what note is. After 10 min, Black shows a very nice fragrance! It becomes more fruity, spicy, floral, natural and a nice and soft incense. and goes this way until the end. Kenneth Cole Black is very similar to Bleu de Chanel. but Black is better! Black has a good longevity but the sillage sucks! Ele começa um pouco genérico: cítrico, verde, gelado e picante. Algo na abertura é muito sintético e eu ainda não descobri qual nota. Após 10 min, Black mostra uma fragrância muito boa! Ele se torna mais frutado, especiado, floral, natural e um ótimo e suave incenso. e fica assim até o fim. Kenneth Cole Black is muito parecido com o Bleu de Chanel. mas Black é bem melhor! Black tem uma fixação muito boa mas a projeção é horrível!

A timeless classic... It has been several months since I last wore Kenneth Cole’s Black cologne, but was reminded this morning of the pleasantry and beauty of this fragrance. Definitely underrated and given the modesty in price, comes with a solid recommendation to add to anyone’s collection. Out of the bottle, the opening of citrus and green notes are easy on the nose that develops into an elegant blend of fresh, spicy, floral and musk notes which make Black easily wearable during any season and for most events. The only downside to this fragrance is in performance – I found that Black lasts on me between 4-6 hours, longer on clothing, at arm’s length or closer, but add this may work out well for an office safe fragrance, though. To reiterate, the price for such a pleasant fragrance is unbeatable and Black would be a great fragrance for those starting to amass a good collection. The final tally for Kenneth Cole’s Black is 4.0 stars out of 5. If the performance/sillage were greater, we are talking about a serious competitor in the fragrance market. Regardless, Black is a safe blind buy and you will like this fragrance. Enjoy your day and happy fragrance hunting...

I agree, this is in the same realm as Bleu De Chanel for me, but it's mandarin heavy on the top and earthy on the bottom. The incense and ginger notes do a great job of tying it all together, much like they do in Bleu De Chanel. (This scent was released first, however - 2003 vs 2010 - so take that as you will.) It's decently long lasting, projects well, smells clean (but not too clean), and it's enjoyable to the masses. I like this much more than the Vintage Black variation, which I had and sold. Vintage has a metallic-mojito Abercrombie Fierce vibe to it. The original Black is definitely the better of the two, in my opinion. Overall, Kenneth Cole Black is a great scent. I don't see it being most people's favorite, but I can't imagine too many people disliking it. It's a good value for the money, and a good alternative to Bleu De Chanel (although their scents are nothing alike). Definitely worth a try! Also: This lasts EXTREMELY well for me. Three sprays today is still going strong afer 9 hours.

I own a significant amount of fragrances, admittedly to many, I bought this from a local store as a holiday gift set, and I must say that this may be my favorite dumb reach I’ve ever bought. It’s fresh, it’s green, it’s slightly soapy, and on my skin the longevity for this cheapie is impressive and it doesn’t smell cheap, and will smell better than most guys around you that aren’t wearing anything. For the age of this release the smell is modern, and it keeps me smelling my hand to get a closer sniff. The ginger, the mint and the touch of orange sweetness gives this such a brilliant opening, who cares if it’s synthetic, it’s supposed to be it’s 20 bucks, but the smell is perfect for the price and that’s all that matters. Blind by safe obviously give it a go you won’t be disappointed if you are looking for a fresh, soapy, slight woody, easy wear, easy reach

Even if this fragrance after a superficially listen can be easily classified under a classic, easy to wear, or "like hundreds of that kind": this is not. K.C. Black is Special. A rare perfect balance of fighting notes that settles in a magic dark luminescent composition. As many people says probably Black is not the appropriate name: ASPHALT could be. Compressed by zesty and astringent notes of hesperides, ginger and others freshness, I can feel sentors of rubber, asphalt, coffe, garbage, coal, dark sugar, and all those contrasts that make this fragrance marvellously dirty and clean and almost gourmand.. something you want bite. I say this fragrance is a perfect ideal summer between the arms of a naked man. Definitely a Masterpiece.

I haven't had this scent in a while, but it is one of the better scents out there, and scents that are in the black category. Smelled this recently and it's still very nice. Scent:8 Longevity:6 Sillage:6 Unique/Industry First:9 Quality:8 A lot of other designers copied this scent. It's definitely a keeper and one to always have in your collection. I've been slacking for not having this in my collection lately. KC Black Vintage is a little older smelling, this original Black is very nice, very smooth, exactly what we think of when we smell a scent in this category. Outstanding scent This one develops different on each person, I get the nutmeg and cedar on drydown. It has depth, gotta love it for that.

Overall: 8/10 Here's Why: Suprisingly very nice! Great price, very (wait for it....) Unique smelling. fresh spicy : YES! Ginger in this is wonderful, lightly spicy and cold! green : very. Dense greens, like a steamy hot jungle. citrus : Definitely, this is lightened up witha splash of very fresh smelling citrus! musky : yes. in the drydown. ozonic : Not too sure? balsamic : Not in this one. Very nice and easy to wear. totally inoffensive and very 'safe'. Can;t quite put my thumb on it, but this one smells pretty unique. There are some similarites to this and YSL La Nuit 'del Homme. The staying power is reasonable and sillage is very nice. Overall a nice safe bet!

Hi there, I was expecting a nice fragrance, according to the most of the reviews, but I must say -I'm deeply impressed. It is a very mysterious and fresh.., and also sensual, playful. There is no synthetics inside, just fresh peeled tangerines in the opening and pure smell of winter evening.Smell of smoke and woods. Agree that is all year round fragrance, but there is a night touch for me...There is something dark, evokes a night time games with your female target, somewhere behind the corner of the street. It's manly enough and lasts 10 hours on my skin. A Mood Lifter -))

I love this stuff! It reminds of the mid to late 2000's when I went to parties and was out late at night on a regular basis. It has a fresh inky smell to it that is so good! It's perfect for work also and good for close encounters. To me this is a very urban fragrance. Kenneth Cole fragrances always make me think of an urban social setting or office environment. For me this is a staple. It's a really good dark/fresh fragrance that won't overpower. It's pleasant and unique and still has a slight mass appeal to it too. It's worth it for me! I give this a 93/100.

Have had this about a year now. I absolutely love it, but only for certain occasions. Basically evenings, any season. I have tried wearing this in the morning and it doesn't work for me. It is however, one of the best damn colognes I have ever smelled. Hard to describe this one...it's dark and bright at the same time. Dirty and fresh at the same time. Mysterious. The best "date night" cologne I've ever had. My wife likes all of my colognes (not allowed to buy ones she doesn't like lol) but, I think this is her favorite. Two thumbs way up!

This scent is excellent for someone who loves fresh, citrusy and green perfumes. It's so interesting and bright, definitely one of my all-time favorites. Unfortunately, it doesn't last longer than 2 hours. The silage is fine, but it fades so quickly and doesn't even leave its base notes. Definitely not the pick if you prefer a scent that lasts all day. Still, I love the smell so much that I just apply it before bed or first thing in the morning for a pick-me-up. Price is decent, especially if you find it on sale at Walmart.

What a delicious scent. It starts off very fruity and tones down to a fresh spicy. I get the ginger, a bit of musk and incense, and amber. Sexy scent for every occassion, any season. Clean and bright, but in a special way, not like other fresh scents. "Black" is not the right name for the fragrance, but it got me into testing it so kudos for that. Presentation is rather simplistic and it shows in the price. Cheap, smells amazing, a must have for collectors.8/10.

My signature scent before I got into collecting. I owned this and the bold version, both served me well. If there were a niche or higher quality version of this scent I would buy it in an instant. Is this a 5 star scent? Nope, but to me it is and yes thats the nostalgia talking but I don't care, this will forever be a love for me. Longevity is around 4 hours and projection is mid at best, but you can get it for like 20 bucks at a rack store.

15 years ago this was a big league cologne! Today, this fragrance continues to be top of the line. Scent- The scent is very unique and classy and stands its own. Longevity- This scent also last very long 5-7 hours. I would highly recommend this product and is modernly masculine. Would I buy again? absolutely. This has been one of my frequent go to colognes through out the years and IS A COMPLIMENT GOD The Gents score 9.5/10 (Compliment God)

Calling this fragrance Black is a little bit silly as it hardly evokes the darkness it purportes to be. I've owned this for a long time and I use it in the summer time as a warm weather fragrance. It projects well in the humidity, but not so much in the cold. Versace pour Homme is similar in the way gives off a fresh green scent. If you are not paying retail like me, you can't go wrong. $29 from Joma seems about right...

I tried a sample of this last summer and instantly it became to Go-To cologne. Such a rich, sensual, unique and not too eclectic or extreme of a scent. Great for summer nights when you want to impress. Everyone I had smell this cologne had positive reactions, literally every single person. This one has mass appeal yet it doesn't smell like the typical mass appeal colognes. Its simply wonderful.

This is a timeless classic , even though the black bottle and the black name on it doesn’t represent the masculine or hard fragrance as expected, it’s bright citrusy, smocky, Clean fresh safe crowd pleaser, Very warm,refreshing and kind of uplifting scent and Good for all occasions and seasons, it’s a safe to start a fragrance journey with, something pleasing, affordable, and not complicated.

Man, I haven't been this excited to open up a bottle of cheapie for so long. I got my hands on this classic little bottle today for the first time in my life. For the 10 bucks, I settled for the 15ml small bottle. This is the freshest thing I've smelled in a long time, the longevity is crazy too. Can anyone of you self proclaimed 'fragheads' explain to me why this thing is so underrated?

KC Black is a great fragrance. Not too dark and not to light this to me is an all purpose cologne like Acqua Di Gio. I can rock this year round day and night and get loads of compliments. Easily found and not expensive. Nice green rich scent that last for hours. Perfect for any occassion. This is must in my collection and a sure top 10 cologne to get for starters wanting a good bottle
