Reaction

Upon recently beginning my journey into fragrance, I remembered I had some colognes lying around my bathroom somewhere. I found a bottle of Reaction that I must've gotten in a gift set for Christmas some time ago. That night I began smelling and comparing the few fragrances I had found lying dormant around my bathroom and the few I had recently purchased, things like A&F Fierce (absolutely bangin'), Dior Sauvage (birthday gift, also bangin'), and Penguin Rocks (from TJ Maxx, gf thinks it's bangin') I lifted the cap and took a whif and was blasted with that juicy, melon-y sweetness. I laughed as I pretentiously told my girlfriend that it wasn't a *bad* smell, "just very simple and juvenile", and then put it away and continued to gush over my newly arrived Dolce & Gabbana The One (EDP, of course) But, I found I couldn't get the smell of Reaction out of my brain. It haunted me, teased me... I would sneak a whiff of the bottle whenever I happened to pass by my frags, sometimes multiple times within the span of a few minutes, until much like Squidward and his ill-fated lust for Krabby Patties, I was caught red-handed by my other half Sweet, juicy melon floating on the most light, delightful ocean breeze. Imagine being on a hot beach with your hot friends in the summer, laughing and just loving life, because y'know, you're hot and life's good. It's ridiculous how light, fun, and delicious this smells. I only wish it would last longer ; I sprayed generously before work, and by lunch Reaction was only a whisper, only allowing me to catch its ethereal beauty in glimpses.... I must proclaim publicly: I LOVE KENNETH COLE REACTION!

Oh man what can I say about this beauty.. This was an extremely heavily worn cologne for me in my late teens and early twenties. It was my absolute favorite for a long while, I bought the gift sets of it so I could bathe in everything! The cologne, the body spray, the deodorant, the aftershave etc.. 10+ years have passed and my nose and maturity has changed. I recently found a little gift set of this that included a 1.7oz bottle along with the body spray. I definitely had to indulge and revisit what use to be one of my favorite fragrances. After my first whiff all the nostalgia came raining in.. I’ll stop rambling and get to the scent profile. You are hit right in the nose with an absolutely beautiful crisp, clean, aquatic apple/melon slightly citrus combo. This fragrance couldn’t be anymore crisp and clean if it tried. As it dries down you start to get some of that sandalwood and Lilly of the valley and only an ever so slight musk. Performance wise this fragrance was made to overspray! I’ve always went 8-12 sprays easy and have typically always got 4-6 hours of longevity, to be honest that’s really not bad given the notes and affordability of this fragrance. This one I feel has always been underrated.

Everyone loves the smell, but if you use only 1 spray it will be gone within 1 hour. So what I do is I put WAY to much on. But I always make sure I won't be around someone for about 30 minutes. Either way I had sprayed probably 10 sprays if not more then went to church. No one said anything, either way I stayed there the entire day and praised The Lord. (I'm Pentecostal) Either way it came time for the night service which starts around 6 but my mom got there around 5:30. So the key thing to remember is that I had sprayed on this cologne at around 10:00 that morning. But when my mom walked through the door the first thing she says is that she smelled me when she walked in! So obviously this has more power than what I expected. So really the more you spray the longer it will last and the more silage you will get. So I'd say about 5 sprays MAX unless you live in a cold climate. This is really a spring/summer fragrance. Smell 8/10 Longevity with 5 sprays is moderate Silage with 5 sprays is between moderate and heavy (3 feet)

I heard this was a good cologne and got a small bottle 15ml for under $15 at ross'. Smells fruit and watermelon and a bit of apple off the initial spray, dies down and has a nice circa 2000s musk smell with very very brief apple/fruit smell. Reminds me of a bod spray from early 2000s that smelled similar but died down to nothing after 5-10minutes. This stuff sticks around a few hours. Not a power house where you can spray and smell 12 hours later sorry fellas LOL The citrus and fruits smell is just mixed enough where its not overpowering/feminine smelling if that makes sense. Then once it dies down the blend smells surprisingly masculine. Nick named this "watermelon diesel" cause of the melon and stingy/chemmy smell off of it. Very safe scent would buy a bigger bottle if I found a good deal on it. DEF summer/warm weather spray, not that appealing for cold winter months with all the fruit and citruses. 8/10

I can understand that this cologne is not for everyone. That's understandable because it's so fruity and sweet for a man's fragrance. However, this is my number 1 favorite cologne so far. Hands down, actually. Signature scent for me, as far as my friends are concerned. No matter how many times I smell it or wear it, I have a smile on my face. My girlfriend just can't get enough of it either. I don't think anyone could make melon so unique and intriguing as this. Perfection. It's as timeless as a fruit oriented scent ever could be. I think that it is pretty masculine, albeit young and energetic. Think sporty, fresh, fruity, happy, exciting, hopeful, and carefree all wrapped into one. Honestly, if this was discontinued anytime soon, I would cry.

Yeah I like this one. The opening is watermelon, very sweet. Melon, sandalwood, patchouli and musk. Badass combination. My favorite is the drydown. It becomes tangy as the musk and patchouli start doing their thing and the watermelon fades. Sweet tangy combo for me is about as good as it gets. Longevity is a non-issue. Great subtle fragrance that won't get on my nerves, or someone elses nerves when it is 90 degrees with 90% humidity. In fact that is where this shines. You won't offend anyone with Reaction and, you will get 3 to 4 hours of moderate sillage, and another 3 to 4 hours after that in your personal space. Perfect for you or your other half to enjoy at the end of the day.

Ok, just got this cologne today, and put it on just before - one word: Heaven. Wow! where do i start. Opens with an amazing watermelon/melon scent, that just drove me crazy - watermelon is my favorite fruit! Im onto the base notes now which smells like that lemon/lime sherbet - very soft and light though, thanks to the musk that just makes me comfortable and smell yummy. Jeez - i really love this scent, and this was a blind buy as well, going by what all other reviews are, and im glad i got it, ive never had this cologne before, so this is definitely a keeper to my collection! Extremely impressed! 10/10!

This smells exactly like Bod Man Fresh Guy, which was my go to scent in high school. I always got compliments. This stuff here though just does not perform. Bod Man should perform much worse considering it’s extremely low price, despite this cologne also being very inexpensive as well. This is a beautiful citrusy, sweet, fresh, beachy concoction that sadly just doesn’t perform, yet I still give it a 5/5 because of how immaculate it smells. Hopefully they will release an intense version someday. It’s a sin that this doesn’t have 6 foot sillage. We’d all be getting swarmed with compliments.

Really really lovely fresh fragrance is how I would describe this one. The melon comes straight away and this has to be one of my favourite notes, so refreshing and subtle there's lots of green apple too just wonderful. The patchouli comes on later and it feels wonderfully fresh & soapy on my skin. I noticed before I got this, lots of people saying it had no staying power and I figured that was probably true, due to the subtle melonee notes. However, on my skin it has lasted really well and matured nicely throughout the day. It's a lovely summery fragrance Im happy with it.

Still have a bottle of this almost classic, been out 13 years already, almost forgot about it. Great spring-fall scent here, great for nighttime. I easily got 5 hours on my skin being outside in San Diego today. I haven't worn this one much but it truly does smell great. So many other colognes after this have copied it's scent, this was definitely an original. Scent:8 Longevity:6 Sillage:5 Unique/Industry First:7 Quality:7 Kenneth Cole always make quality products, if you like citrus and fruit, this is a great nighttime citrus. I've never had a woman not love this scent.

Deep leathery watermelon is how this plays out on my skin. I LOVE the scent, I just wish it lasted longer. I find this very similar to Jimmy Choo Man, but luckily, it does last a LITTLE longer than the Jimmy Choo. The scent of Reaction is also much better, to my nose. This is the most popularly worn scent among my friends here, in a big city in the Midwestern USA, and now I see why. But one word of advice - bring an atomizer if you plan to impress with this scent. You're gonna need it if you want a "Reaction" out of this one beyond the 5 hour mark.

A crisp citrusy skin scent, Reaction is super unisex. The opening is a little harsh but it dies down almost immediately. What you get is a light, fruity, almost vanillic musk (a clean musk, think Jovan). It’s safe but really lovely, given the synthetic profile. The longevity is decent, with little silage, so you won’t be offending a crowd with this sweet juice. If you work in an environment where you must be up close to others, are someone who prefers something light, or your significant other isn’t a heavy scent fan, this is for you.

One of my favorite college colognes. Young men you should get this stuff for sure. I remember when I first bought the bottle and gave it to a couple girlfriends to smell. 1st words were "Yummy, delicious and good choice" back then the opening spray to me was a melon bomb exploding fresh Great for day and summer. I still have a bottle. I don't use it as much.Its overly sweet to me nowadays. Occasionally I'll wear it to work. I still get asked what am I wearing? And compliments about the smell. It'll always remind me of my early 20's.

This frag must have been made for my skin specifically! So long lasting! It can go the entire day and then into night and still have someone say, "you smell good." Fresh, clean, fruity, non confrontational and a total pleasure to wear or be in the presence of someone wearing it. I have to admit this was one of those frags I first encountered on a stranger and went "woah. what are you wearing, strange guy that I don't know." Bought it ASAP and have gone through at least 8 bottles since. 9/10 Scent 9/10 Longevity 8/10 Sillage

A personal favorite of mine. It has a certain metallic, sweet yet bold fragrance you'll find in nearly any aquatic (Nautica) cologne, but perfectly balanced to the common person's senses. Imagine Axe Phoenix (bear with me), but fine tuned into a modern and pleasantly protective, "Wow, what is that?" attention grabber. Plus it doesn't smell like a high school locker room. I've been complemented many times wearing this and recommend it to the younger croud looking for a fragrance that attracts.

Amazing scent ! Fresh , Fruity , Clean and Green. It smells so good and very pleasant. Reaction opens up with like fresh fruity watermelon bubblegum , citrusy and green apple in the background then dry down is musky. The watermelon note is dominant in this fragrance. It is perfect for the spring and summer. This perfume reminds me of Polo Blue for Men. I really enjoy it and I love it. Highly Recommended. Two Thumbs Up. Bravo Kenneth Cole ! Rating : 8 /10

Bought this for my husband because I was getting really tired of Farenheit. (I have a co-worker who wears it daily, and after being pregnant, I couldn't stand it anymore.) Fresh, clean, masculine. Sporty without the sharp, nostril-flaring bite. Bought a cologne/shower gel set - scent lingers in the shower - which is sexy when I step in after he's been in it and I smell him mingled with the fragrance. It blends well with his chemistry. A little citrusy.

One of my favorites of all time. For many many years, this was my primary daily driver. Light, easy to wear, very sweet. That melon and green apple are ultra prominent off the top. Not sure I get the patchouli that is listed here at all. Dries down to an ultra-light sandalwood. Early projection is ok. Longevity is super weak, someone might smell it close to your skin 5 hours later. Inoffensive for the office or gym. Could be unisex.

My boyfriend recently bought this for himself. I absolutely LOVE it! I'm more of a fruity/aquatic person, but this smells great on him. I can't tell you the life of the fragrance, but that smell is absolutely enticing. We had gone to the store Perfumania, and they had this great deal on Kenneth Cole fragrances - a 3 piece gift set for the price of the 3.4oz fragrance. Awesome deal. Amazing scent. Just can't get enough!

Your drying down heart is wonderful, oh yes it is, cos you are the happy offspring of your harmoniously and gracefully dancing parents : Mr.Sandalwood and Mrs.Musk. You are actually so full of wonder that you've been promoted from the middle to the top shelf - off you go up, you...you irresistable one. And may the light light of the early summer stay with your heart untill the very sweet end...
