Encens Lumière

Fantastic experience! So simple, yes sophisticated, this scent enchants with its down-to-earthiness and presence. Quiet and charming, it envelopes you in warming saffron at first. As it develops, leather, skin and animalic notes become more present while keeping it minimal.

The best in the range in my opinion. Unique and wearable at the same time. It's light but mysterious. The freesia note gives it a freshness and sweetness but overall woody and smoky. Beautiful fragrance overall.

In my humble opinion, this is niche quality in a designer bottle. Kenzo and gucci are one of my favorite designer houses because they ever more than often tend to think out side the box and actually come up with something of their own instead of just copy pasting what other designer houses are doing. It's gorgeous and has so much more going on. The notes pyramid does not do it justice. It is bit light but totally presistant, unique but also very likeable. Sensual and warm, Has an earthy undertone with the florals backing it up just beautifully. Smokey and leathery with slight animalistic nuances just to make it interesting enough to keep sniffing it, it's an addictive type of scent. Semi sweet with a little freshness. The smoke is just done very right here, just the right amount. It's balanced and of good quality. Performance is decent. To make it even more interesting, i had women test it and they all said it is on the masculine side but when i had the guys test it almost all of them told me that it leans more feminine. Which makes this fragrance completely UNISEX just based on the reaction i've seen so far. Brilliant release by the house of kenzo, bravo 👏🏼

Memori Encens Lumière is a pleasant fragrance, that’s true, but... It does smell of incense, though one that is greatly softened by freesia. It’s slightly smoky, but above all floral. Although I did enjoy it (once again, it’s pretty), I find that it lacks something to feel fully complete. The freesia may sweeten the composition a little too much for my taste; I would have liked a more sensual edge, with more incense taking center stage rather than remaining a subtle background note. In short, something stronger and more daring. Still, it does live up to its name: it’s bright and luminous, without a doubt. That being said, I tend to prefer intense fragrances with real character. It all comes down to personal taste. If you enjoy discreet, delicate perfumes, then this one will likely be perfect for you. Overall, it’s a floral-amber fragrance with a light touch of incense. Decent longevity, but the sillage is rather weak.

Very interesting fragrance, very niche and not so easy to understand, compared to the rest of the Kenzo range. I smell something very powdery suede on top and then the fragrance changes completely into a warm spicy and dark patchouli. It reminds me of a Balenciaga for men from the 90’s. Very sexy on a man :)

If you don't like the scent of smoke and cigarettes (style MM Jazz Club or D&G The One), nor leathery scents (style TF Ombré Leather), nor retro white floral perfumes (style Chanel), stay away from this. This perfume is a mood on it's own, very original, not too strong, perfectly unisexe, but unfortunately not on my taste. 6/10

Dear Encens Lumière, You might be a good perfume - in terms of quality and uniqueness, I give you that. But why - why?? - do you smell like my little child when, having visited her great-grandmother's house, returns home, stained equally by the decades of cigarette fume burnt into the walls, and by the hugs of old fashioned great-granny floral perfume, so that I usually put that child in the bath right away, worrying for her health. I might be just the generation which is triggered by just how "great granny" you smell like, (after all, lots of old fashioned trends are revived by the younger generations, as they lack the associations, see also floral fabric patterns), and you could mean a nice memory, if it were not for the smoke. You are definitely not innocent. No.

in theory, it should be love at first sight (smell) - delicate and sweet freesia with incense smoke. in practice, there is a lot of smoke, the floral notes don't go into any particular direction, definitely don't remind me of freesias, and the staying power is minimal. out of all the incense-based perfumes out there i will confidently say that la religieuse by serge lutens is more like something what i was expecting from this one and it's just superior. this, sadly, is completely unimpressive.

This is quite well balanced. It is smoky but not too dark, floral but not too girly and ambery but not too heavy. The freesia makes it quite vibrant, but, as the whole Memori collection, it is not anbeast mode perfume, is light and close to the skin. Elegant, smoky and wearable. Pretty mature scent in my opinion, I cant imagine a teenager or a cery young girl wearing this, but it is not and old lady perfume. More than mature, elegant and everyday perfume. Not my type of fragrance but quite nice and wearable being the profile scent it is.

Interesting perfume, I'd say it's very oriental and sensual. I don't remember anything like this from Kenzo house. I tried this because I was curios about the incense note, here it's present and framed beautifully. In fact, I didn't like it when I sampled it on myself, it was heavy and bitter. BUT! I'd totally twist my neck if a man passing by wore it! I'd 100% recommend it for men!

The smell is beautiful, sensual, addictive. Very unisex. Very niche. But performance wise, it was really bad. Maybe I got a bad batch, who knows. No projection nor longevity at all. I bought it this winter. It's kind of a light incense smell to me, so maybe I'll try wearing it next summer, perhaps the performance will be better during warm weather.

I really like this perfume, but I have to use it as cologne because it doesn't have much staying power. The incense scent is amazing and the subtle floral notes are just right. My only regret is buying it, since it fades so quickly.
