Flower by Kenzo Eau de Toilette

This starts out differently than the eau de parfum, very mandarin citrusy, but dries down to exactly the same scent. After smelling this, I can understand why Kenzo felt the need to create a new eau de toilette in 2021. Maybe someone there realized this was essentially the same scent as the eau de parfum. The note profile for the new 2021 eau de toilette, created by Alberto Morillas (which is a big bonus in my book 😊), is completely different. I now want to try that too. While I like this, I'm still not sure this edt would wear any lighter in warmer weather, which is why I wanted it. The only time I can wear the edp is during the cold months because of the heavy powder. I see no difference in the level of powder here. It's still a powder bomb on me. I was considering getting a backup for the edp but now no longer feel the need, but I am disappointed that they didn't make this a true edt, sans the powder for warm weather wear. Despite that, I love this too and am glad I now have what I consider a backup bottle of the original scent.

Found this at TJ Maxx recently. I don't smell any of the mandarin orange listed. I'm mostly getting light but very powdery rose and violet, with just a hint of sweetness. It reminds me of dryer sheets, but in a good way. It's definitely something I'd feel comfortable wearing to work.

Bought this at TJMaxx for a fairly good price. Cozy, sweet, powdery, with a tiny bit of insense. The violet is very noticeable. Inoffensive, easy to wear.

I quite like this Kenzo Flower EDT version compared to the EDP version, I dislike the EDP because it's too powdery & intense, but this EDT version is alot less powdery and less intense and more floral, it's actually a lovely floral fragrance that's a bit more softer, it reminds me abit of CK Beauty.

At least three ways to do a flanker: One. The original composition in diluted concentration. Two. Something else entirely — while trying to use the name of the original to promote the flanker. Three. A satellite of the mothership—bears the family resemblance but missing some parts, and/or with parts unique unto itself. This is a number three situation — it’s a summer-weight Flower with a green, powdery, musky violet note. Not as rich or as cloying as Flower edp which for me reads mostly as heady, stridently sugared opopanax musk coating roses and violets. No, no — Flower edt is tender green violets from the earth meeting violet pastilles from the candy apothecary meeting a young woman’s first powder compact...all held together in a matrix of clean white musk. Uncomplicated and pretty. Has one of those superfine sprayers that makes each pump like a tiny aerosol spray — I wish more brands used those. Worth the $16 I paid for it at Marshall’s. Weirdly, on paper, the drydown reminds me a fair bit of Baiser Vole. (As an aside, in my quest for the prettiest violet ever, I couldn’t believe how laundry-ish Guerlain Insolence edp became in the drydown — what started as an over-the-top, maudlin, high-drama violet/berry duet eventually turned into a dryer sheet. The prettiest violet I’ve found so far is the discontinued layering fragrance Soft Violet from Arcana. Happily got that in a trade!)

I don't know why but EDT is more heavier than the Original. It is more citrus, wood, musk, vanilla, while the original is more violet and muguet all over. EDT smells like Nivea lotions or those kinds.
