Flower by Kenzo L'Eau Originelle

OK This is the one a originally smelled when "Flower" was first released. I knew I remembered Aquatic & Sweet notes which must of been the peony. The new scent doesn't even come close to having one whiff of sweetness, to be it's Nauseatingly masculine. I've smelled many men's colognes that I would love wearing. The new flower is bland, neutral and Herbal Medicinal, like the stinkiest kind of herbs not the fragrat ones like Basil & Rosemarry

A good everyday, aquatic/floral scent for ASIAN ladies, because Kenzo was originally made for the Asian audience due to it's roots. Some people might blend well with it, but should be the types who actually traveled through Asia and love the scents of it's food and flowers. Because of this, and if you're not Asian, then it may not be for you. If fact, most fragrances are not made for everyone out there. You have to test a fragrance if it blends well with your natural body odor, which explains why some people don't like this one (maybe they have bad skin odors and try hard to cover it up with sweet scents?). If you're a girl who's always into sweet scents, then it might NOT be for you. This Kenzo is a floral scent with a hint of ginger in the background, which is typical for Kenzo frags. If you like floral scents, it can be you're signature scent. This doesn't scream at others or demands attention, but it's subtle as a young lady walks by others not trying so hard. In other words, it's NOT masculine in any way. Reminds me a lot of original Flower by Kenzo, but a little bit easier to wear. A little bit more airy, and not as heavy as original Flower. 1 spray goes a long way and I think its easy to overspray this one - and then it becomes heavy, thick and awful. Best in colder weather. Very nice to layer with musky or leather'y scents.

It's so generic and blank. It's just a musky water and that's it. All be it, an oriental musk.. ...but the more I think about the white poppy that it's supposed to represent the more it grows on me. It's definitely a white, fragile and understated scent and I think it really suits the model/face of their ad..

Update. 24hrs later, I now really like the dry down scent that's left on my sample card - that always seems to happen :/ - but anyway the dry down has a fresh milkyness to it that more like the original red poppy version than the opening. It also reminds me a bit of Demeter Musk #7

12. March 2016 I do not know if its me or the fragrance, but i have found it in shop on sale huge 100ml bottle for less than 40eur and almost did by, since i thought "originelle" should mean "back to its roots" and was hoping for the original formula (i still have some left from first release, so i thought i could use this one now). Boy am i glad that i have not only tested it on paper blot, on which it smelled ok, but also on my skin. It smells horrible on my skin and very few fragrances do so. It smells of a scent of metal in the very cold weather, you know, that tadte on metal, when you lick it in the cold. I guess its a combination of watery notes, musk and a lot of ginger flower. Do not be fooled by "originelle" it smells nothing like the original formula!!!! Horrendeous for tje first 30-40 min, it then becomes more flowery, but until that time all i smell is a metal. Not my type of smell at all, i better buy some other versions. good lasting power though! Please do not remove this comment, since others might find it useful. Not every review should be positive, so people like me wanted to make a blind buy might find it very informative. Thanks.

Very delicious this perfume! It immediately sends the powerful Flower by Kenzo and that's good, because until today its predecessor has held the shuttlecock up there among countless launches that break through the market! Alberto Morilas is behind, that's enough! [laughs]... Citric and very aquatic opening that shows luminosity, it also has a very calm Ginger water that joins with an aroma of new Pepper, freshly manipulated! I love its freshness with each movement, as it begins to announce a perfume from later on. The perfume grows in such a way that it becomes the center of attention around! Here, in the drying process, there is a semi-cold Rose water, and more tropical fruits, highlighting the Green Apple with its reverberant bittersweet tone and another peony of Peony (I love this flower, this note so much), which denotes a rosy appearance, ventilated, punctuated in the fine and decided floral. There's a smell of flowers on the stalk here, too delicious all of it! In the end, the bomb explodes, with a lot of Violet that gives a general powdery feel, but with the support of a bed of Musk that sensualizes and makes the fragrance hyper feminine! It fixes a lot and projects about 3 strokes perfectly; in small environments he dominates and does very well. Small and short sprays are the secret of its power!

Disclaimer: Aquatic and watery perfumes are not my cup of tea, so, please keep that in mind while reading this review. I have tested this perfume from a sample in the form of a sachet. The first thing that hit my nose was this unpleasant watery note, which is very prominent mixed with some spice and citrus. I hoped it might settle down to powdery florals and musk but that didn't happen the watery notes were strong even after 3 hours of wearing I had to scrub it down with a vanilla soap to neutralize the sour notes. I guess it's quite strong because I can still smell it on my arm, but after washing my arm it's mostly sharp musk with some flowers. In general, it smells quite harsh and chemical that's why its a pass for me. but if you are a fan of aquatic perfumes give it a try, you might like it.

I have no idea why people are saying it smells masculine because for me this opens with aquatic and sweet notes. What's interesting about this perfume is how much it changes on your skin and how long it stays. The original flower by kenzo smells more powdery whereas this one smells more juicy which smells stronger in humid weather. I love wearing it on a chilly windy fall day, maybe just one or two spritzs and it smells warm amazing throughout the day. It smells very floral with the hint of the original smell with a whiff of aquatic scents if that makes sense. Again, I have no idea why it smells so masculine to others but for me I feel pretty feminine when I wear this perfume.

Starts of like a watery version of the original Flower. Then not long after I was getting strong wafts of an aquatic floral. I couldn't believe how much this changed on my skin. It kind of reminded me of cool water wave but not as sporty fresh. Another fragrance this reminds of, but I can't think of it's name. Not sure if it's the pink bottle one by Issey Mikaye. Long lasting but not me.

Sampled this recently. Agree with others on its masculinity. I pictured a urinal cake instantly! Not for me!

Beautiful but masculine! would be an aamazing scent but for a guy...
