Flower by Kenzo

Flower by Kenzo is truly a masterpiece of powderiness, resins and balsams, blended effortlessly with vanilla, violet, rose, jasmine and hawthorn. To my nose, the blackcurrants and the hawthorn are the most easily notes detectable in the opening of this scent. It’s so satisfying to find a unique scent nowadays and I know that Flower by Kenzo was launched literally a quarter of century ago, but I haven’t tried it until today (potentially I am living under a rock) and I instantly feel in love with it. It’s something else than what’s currently trending on the fragrance market and I find that very refreshing. Might be slightly controversial, but I don’t find the scent dated or smelling old fashioned. I find it super intriguing, alluring and captivating. This can be found incredibly cheap nowadays and I recommend to all ladies which haven’t tried it yet to give it a shot. I have hundreds of perfumes in my collection, but nothing similar to Flower by Kenzo... No clue if it’s still popular with older generations but at least on social media isn’t. I didn’t heard anything about it. Deserves so much more love and attention at least online. Will be adding a bottle of this gorgeousness to my collection as fall season approaches. It’s not the summeriest out of all fragrances, even though it’s called Flower. For me it’s something new, different that totally worth the money. And needs more hype so that the newer generations of perfume enthusiasts will catch up with the greatness of the older designers releases!!!

I have tested it in a perfume store, This fragrance is strong Powdery Incense flory with a musk cames from the background. Powdery scent here like powder of compact powder, or makeup scent. One of the most beautiful powdery of makeup fragrance. Also, flowers here are very pure fragrance. Powdery Incense flory musk fragrance give you feeling of feminine, If you didn't smell this perfume before, I advise you can blind buy if you prefer strong clear powdery perfumes like powder comes from makeup. My relationship with this fragrance is quite biased — it’s practically my first perfume. I received it as a gift for my 16th birthday in the winter of 2000. To tell the truth, I was given two fragrances at that time — Flower and J’adore. However, I gave the latter to my mother, while I repurchased Kenzo several times. The fragrance remains as magnificent as ever. I have recently purchased it again and I confirm it’s still wonderful. However, I didn’t really connect with the flankers in the form of eau de toilette and other Poppy versions. This is an amazing powdery composition that makes me feel particularly comfortable. By its nature, it reminds me of Guerlain L’instant Magic, as if Kenzo refined and improved the formula. It’s an absolutely stunning powder fragrance that I feel very comfortable wearing. I find it remarkably similar to Guerlain L’instant Magic, as if Kenzo has perfected the scent. It’s suitable for any occasion and doesn’t give me a headache. It’s particularly magnificent during cold winter months. P.S. By the way, J’adore now also holds an honorable place in my collection, and I enjoy using it.

I want to open by saying that this is such an uplifting fragrance and I have really needed that boost recently. It is yet another beloved perfume that reminds me of ballet (and the music of Mazzy Star). I have always been thoroughly enamored of this perfume since I first bought it, especially the opening with that cool violet and pink pepper, but I have had some conflict about whether or not I felt the dry down was too sweet and I would often enjoy the opening and then remove it. At least at this time, I find the musky vanillic powder to be sheer even though it does remind me a bit of vanilla bean ice cream in the nicest way (and I am really not a gourmand lady at this point and too much sweetness bothers me now). Whatever the case may be, I am totally in sync with Flower at this time. Last year I wore this perfume to hold my dear sweet little old black cat Lola in my arms when she was gently sent off to be given a cuddle by the likes of Saint Francis and Saint Gertrude. I like to think of it that way, at any rate. She was the best of cats and the most beautiful of creatures. This perfume really is pure joy.

I think it's really cool that Kenzo have tired to create what they think the smell of a poppy is. Apparently it doens't have a scent so, the concept is great! This opens with a huge burst of powder! This is all violet, creamy powdery tones but still modern smelling. Not vintage in anyway. The two scent molecules in the base are quite interesting. Hedione is used to give this extra sillage and it really works. This one leaves a lovely trail behind you. The other one Cyclosal is used a lot when working with Iris so..I'm wondering if that's adding to the powder here? Up close it smells a lot richer, still soft..but richer. U[p close is the only time I can really tell there's something deeper in here, but in the air? Powder bomb. Once the powderyness calms down a bit, this perfume starts to smell really weird but I love it. It smells like play doh dipped in vanilla....with some floral powder over the top. This is how it smells on lots of people I've smelled it on, but others? I have smelled more of a bouquet. I like it's clean feel, simple but effective..and very comforting and cozy. :)

At some point I definitely hated this scent: thought that it was cloyingly sweet. I smelled this as an adult and unlocked some childhood memories for me, and now I have an emotional attachment to it. Turns out my mother had a bottle of this during my first childhood, and that's why I feel so cozy and safe while sniffing this. The whole character of this fragrance is powdery creamy flower. Not a fresh out of the shower scent, not baby powdery. To me it resembles a compact powder, bullet lipstick, very feminine, motherly, sexy, beautiful. It settles with the sweetness and powdery character. I don't get much vanilla in the literal sense, but maybe that's where the thickness comes from. There is, yes, something a little bit bitter, that keeps this balanced and looking at the notes, that's probably the mandarin. Although it's not enough to fully remind you of an orange- I feel like it's there just for stabilizing. I can't wait to finally purchase a bottle of this. Also, there is the Cardamom scent from Jo Malone that has EXACTLY this scent.

Kenzo Flower has always been in my collection. It’s my most comforting scent and the only one that has a true power of boosting my mood. Whenever I feel nervous or sad, one spray is enough to calm my senses. I feel secure when I wear it. It’s really great feeling :) It’s a very original and magical fragrance, I think it’s really hard to find something that’s close to Flower. It’s powdery, but I disagree with baby wipes suggestions. For me, except for the comforting effect I’ve mentioned above, it’s more of a make up, old school powder puff smell. And since I’m into vintage vibe, I really love it. Notes in Flower are blended in a masterful way, resulting in feminine, powdery floral composition. Longevity is very good on me, hard to describe sillage bacause im so used to the smell, but I received compliments so I believe others can smell it as well. It’s my secret weapon against my fears, sadness and bad mood. Kenzo flower - for a beautiful world! :) (btw I also love advertisement campaign)

if kenzo flower has 0 fans then i have died. the perfume that no one will make me hate and the pefume i will always wear and doubt i will ever change. i like the ikebana variant a bit more because that scent is truly how japan in my mind smells like but the og flower is so darling and loveable and whoever says it smells like a grandma has nooooo idea. i got it as a bday present from my mom because i kept talking about it for half a year (it reminded me of the band lamp which i love sm) and ever since then i can't let go of it. it's v nice and powdery and just a lovely and comforting scent. my friend who gets migraines from almost every perfume told me this one is very nice and that says a lot. in summer this perfume is more flowery and fresh, like coming from a bath but in winter it's simply angelic and comforting. my mom bought one for herself too bc she got to love the smell to. such a darling perfume i love it so so much!!

i mainly get baby powder / baby wipes and very faint violets, but in the best way possible. this was my signature scent for quite a while, and i have very fond emotions towards it as i got it for christmas from my beloved. it is a very gentle and soft scent, perfect for bedtime or when you simply want to smell clean and powdery, elegant and slightly floral. i also adore the bottle, it reminds me of a glass skyscraper with a lovely bright poppy growing through it. i think this is a fragrance which i will repurchase once i finish it, although i do have other favorites now as well - it's just too tender and nostalgic for me. the only downside is that the longevity isn't too great, i can't really smell this anymore after 2 or so hours. that's very unfortunate, but i do think there's something sweet in its fleeting nature. it's a short lived treat, but a very comforting scent to me. i associate it with baby yellow. :)

This is my (if we must label such things) signature scent. One of my greatest friends bought this for me many moons back, and we shall love her eternally for it (seriously, she shall be named a saint one day). I don't feel it's "too powdery". Powdery makes me think of old ladies and stuffy bathrooms. This is too unique for that. The parfumier behind it apparently wanted to make the scent he imagined poppies (being scentless) would possibly have - and it's perfect. Definitely a perfume I receive compliments for. It has that deep complexity of violets (your home girl is a violet fiend), rose, jasmine, black currant, vanilla, and white musk. If you need more than that, then God help you. I wear this anytime. None of this "It's a day scent". "It's a night scent." "Great for the spring." "Comes alive in winter." No. Any. Time. *** Kitty rating: 10/10! I love this. I got it on a whim during a day trip to Sydney and was enamoured by the bottle. I'd seen it online, but had no idea about what it smelt like, but it was more than a pleasant surprise. It's the ultimate powdery floral. The florals are beautiful, especially the rose, and the resinous musky dry down makes it amazingly sexy and almost fresh. The vanilla keeps it sweet, but has an earthy quality that keeps the sweetness grounded, at least on my skin. Maybe not safe for blind buy if you're not taken by powdery fragrances. It is definitely very powdery the more I've come to wear it (especially during the opening). A little goes a long way too, it can become overbearing if you're sensitive to smell! Overall such a beautiful, comforting scent. I love wearing it to laze around the house or when I work outside, working a little sweat into it sort of freshens it a little bit, but that may just be me.

If I could paint a picture of this fragrance it would go something like this: You’re standing in a field of violets and roses, like something out of that vampire movie. It’s going to be a scorcher of a day but at this very moment it’s early in the morning and a little crisp. You’ve come straight from a bath in a crystal clear pond and are wearing some sweet talcum powder that was gifted to you by a kind, little forest fairy. Your clothes are warm and snug, and are scented by the surrounding flowers. You feel in your heart and soul that everything is at peace. So, you’re heading home, but is it bed time or has the day just begun? The choice is yours because there’s no right or wrong answer. This perfume could suit any age or gender, but I guarantee the person wearing this is more beautiful than they know. May peace be with you all Grandma Snugs

This flower is beautiful. She can put a smile on your face. Flower by Kenzo can be easily mistaken for Guerlain. Infact in the opening I am reminded of l'instant by Guerlain. But then it sweetens further and further. For a moment you can see a semblance of L'Heure bleue. Oh how I used to wonder if that heavy fragrance from certain hair oils could be separately sold as perfumes. Today I guess my wish came true. In India perfumed hair oils have been in vogue since ages. And so has been the art of using Sambrani/Dhuno which is a resin and very balsamic to perfume and dry the hair using its fumes. That's what makes Flower by Kenzo so special. There's no going back from this perfume. I feel the juice may have become watery and diluted but its still good. Anyone can wear it all year round.

A very, VERY late review for what had been one of my most anticipated fragrances. My papa gifted me this perfume for Christmas of 2024 and I have loved it ever since I first sampled it in the perfume store we used to frequent on shopping trips. The packaging is absolutely darling and, unlike some, I am very fond of the powdery scent- especially considering another favorite fragrance of mine is Chanel No. 5. Is it for everyone? No, but I think its absolutely wonderful. The bottle is beautiful and I love how it looks next to my other fragrances. In terms of price, I can't really say considering this was purchased during the holidays at an outlet, but I am sure a decently priced bottle is out there awaiting for a loving home!

Kenzo Flower holds a very special place in my heart. A few years ago, I had a miniature bottle and loved it so much that I would steal a whiff every now and then, but never committed to a full-sized bottle. Recently, I realized how much I missed it and finally gave in. While the bottle's shape isn't the most convenient, it earns a pass. The scent is pure luxury; a powdery violet with subtle notes of roses and incense wafting through the air. It carries a slightly gloomy undertone, reminiscent of the charged atmosphere before a rainstorm. It's both comforting and sophisticated, with a hint of baby powder but make it utterly enchanting. I will always have a bottle of this in my collection.

Such a gentle, soft and feminine powdery perfume. It has all the notes that I absolutely love, could have been made for me. Can't believe I waited so long to try it as I love powdery perfumes and this is now one of my favourites. Definitely a Lady's boudoir fragrance with notes of her powder puff makeup, soft creams, a box of sugared violets and a vase of fragrant roses on her vanity. Candy pink and violet purple fluffy clouds visible from her window as twilight begins to set in. Strangely modern and clean at the same time, timelessly beautiful. Something slightly melancholy about it but in a moving rather than depressing kind of way.

It begins as a beautiful rose and violet, powdery and soft and delicate. Over time it moves to include subtle jasmine and becomes a more moist and dewy scent. This feeling of cool flowers seamlessly transitions to musk. It's an incredibly smooth evolution over the course of the drydown. I think of this as angelic, soft fluffy heavenly scented clouds, and soft colors of diffused pink and purple. It is perfect for all seasons, day or night. It is a true masterpiece! I rarely comment on bottles, but this is perfect, elegant, minimalist and suits the fragrance inside. It's not my usual type of perfume, but I LOVE THIS!

I had a terrible day today. Lot of negative thoughts, tears, bad emotions. I feel hopeless and tired, so I’m just going to sleep now. Why am I sharing it here? Well, I just sprayed myself and my pillow with Kenzo Flower, because it feels like a warm, caring hug. It’s not the first time when I intuitively reach for this particular fragrance in such moment. It creates a safe barrier. Peaceful aura. Incredibly comforting scent. And I think it’s a true art if perfume can really work that way. In all that mess, it’s indeed a small thing, but let’s learn to appreciate them and be grateful. Thank you Alberto Morillas!

THIS PERFUME IS GORGEOUSSS. Its very powdery, as if you’re applying light pink blush over your cheeks with a ginormous brush. However your a little bit blush blind, putting more and more you cake it up until you see it 100 yards away. It makes me think of lounging in a bedroom sized flower, your sitting infront a vanity practicing and it probably looks a bit bad its okay shh... It smells faintly sweet, that scent runs away and comes back for some reason like where are you goingg😭😭 be careful if your in a rush trying to apply this since its as tall as a bad dragon, it tried to jump on the floor.

I used to own this fragrance—or rather, my mom did—and now, 15 years later, I’m buying it again. It brings back memories of how much I liked it, even though I didn't actually wear it back then; it was too sweet for a teenager, as I preferred fresh, citrusy scents. But now... oh, I simply adore it; I think it’s exactly the type of fragrance I love most. It isn't overpowering; it is perfectly subtle, and as someone mentioned here it's introverted and cool.. That sweet, powdery note, combined with an airy freshness, is reminiscent of baby cream—but a refined, mature version. Unique for sure.

I love this perfume so much as a fresh day to day fragrance when you don’t want to wear anything too overstimulating. This is powdery in a rice/starch way which I love as I always loved the smell of mum’s spray starch. It’s dry, with only a touch of sweetness and has a very tactile quality to it like cornstarch, it’s so versatile and I can wear it to bed, during the day, out the shower. It definitely grew on me where I feel like I would need to get a back up of this or a close equivalent of some kind. This is my anytime, anywhere fragrance & it will always have a place in my collection

I’m sorry if you think this is a grandma scent. It’s not. Those vintage scents can be traced back at least 30 years ago, mostly in Estée Lauder, Chanel and Guerlain (most of which were true bombs, not like this innocent Flower). I suppose whoever doesn’t appreciate this perfume generally doesn’t like powdery and florals. This is one of my favorites. I’m literally craving it sometimes, it’s like therapy. Will forever appreciate this scent. Please note that this is not produced by Coty (which in my opinion, has ruined many perfumes), but by LVMH group (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy).

Based on my personal experiences, people who love teint de neige, soavissima but looking for cheaper alternatives can enjoy kenzo flower. I’m not saying it’s a dupe, it has major differences, but overall scent profile shares huge similarities. Clean, elegant powderbombs. I adore teint de neige and soavissima also i enjoy using this as well. Beautiful scent for a very reasonable price. Ps: soavissima is nuclear so sometimes i feel shy to use that in public attending occasions, this one gets the job done and much less aggresive.

My childhood scent. Growing up my mom lost the cap so I would just see a long bottle on top of our small closet. Smells exactly like her and early 2000s nostalgia. Beautiful sophisticated clean floral, (which I don't typically reach over for) however everything is blended so nicely, with no note taking over the other with a powdery dry down. This will be my wedding scent. Reformulation hasn't changed much, the originals longevity was insane. I don't wear this scent often because it is so sacred to me.

This is a powderbomb! Not super sweet but very floral. I smell dried rose petals and baby powder. I can also smell a lot of musk in this. Super feminine with a retro vibe. It feels like a perfume that would’ve been popular in the ‘70s or ‘80s (but it came out in 2000). I’ve had a bottle of this for years, and I really like breaking it out in the springtime. I’m pretty happy with the projection and longevity. I also love the tall, thin bottle!

My favorite floral perfume. It's beautifully floral without ever becoming overly sweet or cloying. Soft, airy, and slightly powdery, it has a comforting quality that makes it incredibly easy to wear. There's something both pretty and cozy about it, like fresh flowers wrapped in a soft cashmere scarf. Elegant and feminine without trying too hard, it's the kind of fragrance I keep coming back to and never seem to get tired of.

Flower by Kenzo is currently one of my favorite scents. A soft, powdery, floral, almost baby powder-like scent that can be used anytime and anywhere. Not sweet, not heavy, not musty, but perfectly balanced. The rose, violet, opoponax, musk and vanilla are the notes that are most prominent for me. A scent that does not bore, not too pushy but is present, a classic but still only 25 years old.

The negative reviews on this one truly break my heart. This is my favorite perfume (shared first place with l’imperatrice). Sweet baby powder that on me just works so well, it makes me smell clean and is the perfect blend of flower and sweetness. Its calming and gets a compliment here and there. The longevity and sillage are amazing. Damn it really sucks that it doesn’t work for so many.

Oh wow, I adore this. I was not expecting much due to it's reputation, but yes, this is absolutely one I will soon be buying a full bottle of. It smells clean, pure, cute, and very nostalgic. The baby powder is definitely noticeable, though for me this is a positive thing as I really enjoy such scents. Seems to dry up sweeter than it starts, which is not a problem for me.

i need to write a love letter for this fragrance. Soft, very powdery and sweet. Smells like, buried flowers in baby powder, for a funeral maybe. submerging them in soft powder, burning incense for your loved ones, and the soft musk that come along with warm clothes. I absolutely love this scent. soft, mysterious, and a unique powdery floral which cannot be matched

I'm not one for florals but it's summer and it's hot as hell so I decided to give this a try. There's a reason it's a classic... This is very well done. It did not become suffocating under the heat, on the countrary, it remained very light and even a comforting scent. smells like you've just came out of a long bath and you are super clean and surrounded by flowers

I will never stop loving this fragrance. I was 22yrs old when this first came out and I bought it duty free on one of my first trip to Australia. It was my signature scent for years. I now have about 200 bottles of fragrance and still absolutely love this. It's a classic that's still relevant today and not old fashioned at all. So pretty and comforting.

This is my signature scent I've worn it since 2001 at one time I was gifted the Just a drop oil which was incredible but sadly was discontinued. I find the parma violet and rose notes along with the musk are the scents that linger on my skin. I do find since the reformulation that it is not as long lasting as it once was but still my favourite.

This Is the fragrance I picture Lady Galadriel would use for daily meetings and long walks amidst Lothlorien. An airy yet humid kind of dignified powder. There Is something nostalgic about Kenzo Flower, something that's regal yet evanescent. Like sitting near a quiet lake or pond on a hazy down watching the light through a filter of mist.

An absolute powder-bomb! It truly does smell like baby powder, soft, clean, and cozy. I mostly wear it after showers or before bed; it makes me feel like a luxurious starlet sitting at my vanity in a velvet robe and powdering my decolletage. Lasting power is great (7-8hrs), especially on clothing, projection is arms length.

Something has happened to me. This summer I’ve shed my former powder-hating-self. I’m reformed. I can’t get enough of fragrances like this. It is so fluffy, foggy, feminine, not-too-sweet but sweet, clean with a twinge of incense keeping it interesting. What you might wear to enter into a fairytale, or maybe even Heaven.

Cherishing the last few drops of this, as it was a gift from my late father. For some reason, this smells more like a white floral to me. A very clean, powdery, floral scent. Almost baby powder like dry down. Edit: tried a fresh one in the store today and there's something so dreamy about this. like a cloud.

Very floral and powdery which I really like. I definitely smell the roses and violets, vanilla and musk and a little bit of incense. I really like it, lasted on me a good amount of time. I can see being worn all year round but it's not my personal favorite for winter.

Lovely everyday fragrance! So beautiful with her musk, roses and violets. A walk in a beautiful garden in spring. I don’t find this cloying. It’s powdery, but I also get something fresh and light from this, no vanilla or incense. Hate the bottle though 😔

Nice floral powdery fragrance. For years this was my signature scent. I don't understand why some reviews deem this unpleasant. Perhaps they don't like powdery scents. When wearing this, I receive compliments. If you like fresh Powdery scents, try it.

straight up baby powder, with a touch of musk. two of my absolute favourite smells. i thought it didn't last long, but apparently my nose is just quick to become blind to it. it lasted more than 8 hours, even after i slept. my fav fragrance to date.

Such a beautiful powdery floral scent with a nice amount of musk. Smelled it at store and honestly it smells so much better on my skin. Loves it so far reminds me of those spanish rose tear free baby washes from Sedano’s iykyk.

completely and utterly in love with this perfume. there is nothing else like flower by kenzo. i personally cannot smell anything more than powdery violets, with only a hint of jasmine, but that is a VERY good thing to me.

Soft, slightly sweet baby powder. It feels clean, cozy, comfortable. Gentle. Where I wear The Body Shop White Musk on a daily basis, Flower would be the bedtime version for me.

It's quite powdery and has a body lotion scent at the end; I simply love it, it's one of my favorites. It's soft, feminine, fresh, and adapts very well to different climates.

A very pretty red lipstick kind of perfume...opening is a bit harsh for me but once settles its stunning and classy..i would wear it in cold weather too heavy for summer
