Flower Ikebana Mimosa

The last thing I was expecting when I walked into the store was to fall in love with a Kenzo perfume. Nothing on Kenzo; I just kind of associate it with my mom who wore the original Flower as well as L'Eau par Kenzo. Now that my taste in perfumes has matured, I see the draw. Kenzo is unusually good at making these light, translucent scents that I crave in a market full of screechy, overpowering amberwoods. Now let's come to Flower Ikebana Mimosa. While I love my weird indie perfumes with notes of dust and rice steam, I also sometimes want something that is pleasant, an easy reach, won't overstimulate me, feels clean and will work with the extreme heat and humidity in my part of the world. I also happen to love the smell of mimosa, which feels deeply comforting. This perfume is all of those things. The kumquat adds a splash of freshness and the sesame, a touch of delicious savoriness that rounds out the fragrance, but don't get it twisted: this fragrance is all about the mimosa. She's the star here, but one who is soft, gentle, and effortlessly beautiful. This perfume is not for anyone concerned with the latest craze of 'nuclear performance' and 'beast mode.' The dry down of the hinoki wood smells a lot like neroli to my nose, which I don't mind, as it gives me that clean linen feeling. Yes, this is ephemeral and not the longest-lasting, but I'm not obsessed with lasting power in my fragrances. A beautiful impressionist watercolor painting in a bottle.

La primera vez que lo olí me llamó la atención, no soy muy fan de los perfumes de Kenzo porque odio los aromas florales, sin embargo, este perfume es todo lo que llevaba buscando hace tiempo. Lo compré a finales de agosto, con una temperatura de 35oC en una zona húmeda. Es un olor dulce pero no empalagoso, es suave y delicado, pero no atalcado. Tiene una dulzura más frutal que floral, pero esa nota tan potente de mimosa es la que rebaja la posible pesadez que lleve este perfume. Es una fragancia fresca, ideal para el verano si no quieres renunciar o oler siempre dulce, e incluso adaptativa en los días más fríos. Es versátil, pero no milagrosa, no lo recomiendo en climas helados, no encaja con un ambiente gélido. En primera aún no lo he probado pero ya doy por sentado que será ideal. Al echarlo en mí puedo percibir notas frescas, casi rozando lo acuático sin recaer en lo salado y cítrico, es estar tumbada un día cálido de sol en un lecho de hierba y flores, con un vestido largo y holgado, que acompaña bien el calor con la brisa fresca. 100% lo volvería a comprar, es un olor del que no me canso.

Such a unique and elegant scent--I've never smelled anything quite like her! I was a little apprehensive when I first bought her, as I hadn't had much experience with mimosa fragrances and didn't know what to expect, but she left an amazing first impression on me! I was so pleasantly surprised by how well her notes worked together and the overall complexity of the fragrance, I fell in love immediately! She had good longevity, around 6-7 hours for me (it depends per person, but I don't really need much more than that...if I need anything more I'll just apply it again!) with intimate to moderate silage. She's SO perfect and I really REALLY recommend her! I can't wait to be able to get my hands on her again!!!

A luminous, warm, clean, and enveloping composition. Elegant and discreet. Floral-powdery, with powdery notes that are less pronounced than in the classic Flower. A fragrance that subtly wraps around, bringing comfort and soothing. A safe purchase for a classically elegant woman.

Instant love! The mimosa took me back instantly to my childhood holidays in the south of France. Such a lovely, radiant, sunny mimosa scent, ideal for warm summer holidays or if you want to invoke the feeling of such a beautiful day. It's a definite yes from me!

This is an interesting perfume. At first I felt discrete sesame seeds notes, but then it evolved into something complex; the hidden mimosa comes out and becomes the star of the fragrance. It's fresh, with no sweetness in it, more green, and... elegant.

This is easily the most beautiful mimoza rendition I have ever tried! It carries the DNA of the Kenzo's Flower line while being an elegant mimoza at the same time. BIG WIN for a blind purchase!

Beautiful powdery yellow flower mimosa perfume, just the way I like them. There is a bit of citrus at the opening but the main star is mimosa. So warm and cozy. I need a full bottle of this.

I loved this fragrance I did combo with: -Tom Ford Vert d' Incense - Le Labo 31 Lys I think goes well with others florals to sweeten them.

The first in this line, Flower Ikebana Sakura, was an instant “love” for me and is completely unique in my fragrance collection, whereas this Mimosa flanker is just a “like.” (It was also, oddly, difficult to find here in the US despite being a new release...I ended up purchasing it on Fragrancebuy.) I feel like it is a bit less unique than Sakura. That being said, Mimosa is still lovely. It’s floral like Sakura, but without the woodiness. Because of this, Mimosa comes off as a tad lighter, airier, and strictly a spring/summer fragrance. I get a bit of citrus at the top, which might be the kumquat? (I’m not sure what a kumquat smells like!) There’s some aquatic notes and a touch of powder in there too. It’s overall light, clean, elegant, and inoffensive. It’s perfectly office appropriate, and also good for casual daytime wear.

Sweet mimosa blossoms over a nutty/powdery base. Kind of feels like a fusion of the (discontinued) Kenzo Summer which was all breezy, light mimosa blossom and the powdery, toasted-rice muskiness from Amour. I think this could get really cloying if you oversprayed but it's blended in such a way it manages to feel light but have decent projection and longevity. It's not glam but it's pretty, elegant and very easy to like - feels like one for the first 'denim jacket' sunny-but-not-humid days of spring.

I normally don't like Mimosa in scents, and this seems to be the first exception. I really like this greenish, powdery Mimosa here, I can smell the other notes very clearly too, a zesty fresh, lighty sour kumquat and slighty roasted sesame...somehow the scent gets a very soft aquatic vibe in the drydown which gives it an airy, quality and makes the mimosa softer and lighter. This will be the first mimosa scent in my collectinon, bottle is beautiful too.

Light, happy, floral. I don't love yellow florals (or florals in general), but this is quite accessible. Kind of like Poeme-lite. The drydown is really quite nice. I'm shocked there is no vanilla in here. This simply smells like mimosa and vanilla to me. I can imagine there's tangelo in there as this smells quite fruity out of the cap, but the wood and sesame I don't detect. This is just a simple light, creamy mimosa scent. I'm enjoying it.

Couldn't resist the beautful bottle, love the delicate flowers on Kenzo's bottles. As a fan of mimosa I must say that this is one of the most realistic fragrances I've encountered. So fluffy, powdery and cosy, the same vibes I get from the flowers. Wouldn't wear this in the winter though but I think it's perfect for spring and not too hot summer days. I

Beautiful floral perfume, just like the previous Kenzo Ikebana. It is too floral for my taste but I still enjoy the sweet, well-blended, beautiful smell of the mimosa. Kenzo Ikebana Mimosa develops very nicely and the dry-down is even more enjoyable, leaving a pretty and long-lasting trail.

Smells very fresh, I like it. I would put this on after a gym session and a shower and I needed to feel refreshed.

The opening smells like fresh persimmon fruit/kaki fruit--it's earthy, fresh, slightly nutty, and slightly sweet. I have never smelled kaki fruit notes in any perfumes, so this one is really unique. Sadly, it becomes more average after the opening. It develops into yellow flowers, and ends up aquatic and white floral--you know, the type of scent you smell in products labeled as "lotus" or "bluebell". This type of scent gives me a headache so it's a "no" for me. However, I don't mind smelling this perfume on others because it's so unique and elegant.

Beautiful, light mimosa with a powdery dry down. I get a hint of sesame, but not very much. I’d like more, as that savory aspect is really enjoyable to me. I imagine this would go well for someone, someone who doesn’t want to make a statement but to just smell nice.

I love mimosa fragrances, but not this one. It has that slightly powdery mimosa in the opening, but as it dries down some kind of aquatic cucumber note takes over (which I don’t like).

The worse out of the Flower line - than again, I don't like mimosa. This is fresh and blatant, not complex or original at all...for hard core mimosa lovers only..

It’s very aquatic upon spray, but over time, I get Dewey mimosa. I thought I got plant stem in it, but maybe it’s kumquat and hinoki. It’s inoffensive and safe.

Extra buttery mimosa, sweet and heavy. Pass.

First I was in love with it. Feminine and clean mimosa, very elegant and a bit powdery. I was a 100% sure that I'd buy the bottle. After a couple of hours, I noticed the powdery notes getting stronger and after 4h I was done with it. HEAVY powder, almost as heavy as Narciso Poudree. Had to scrub it because I started feeling nauseated and it was hard to breathe. I was left with fresh and somewhat sweet cucumber water after managing to get most of it out (a bit stuck to my hair which I didn't wash). I think you have to absolutely love powder for it to work for you, for me it was way too much.

After reading so many positive reviews on Fragrantica, I decided to blind buy this fragrance and I genuinely regret that decision. On my skin, it opens green and slightly herbal, with a noticeable peppery edge that never really softens. I kept waiting for the mimosa to become warm, creamy, or comforting, but it never did. To my nose, it starts rather dull and ends just as dull like a stale cucumber, without much evolution or depth. If you’re looking for a cozy, comforting floral, this wasn’t it for me. Of course, fragrance is subjective, but this one simply wasn’t what I had hoped for. 🫩

Based on the list of notes, I should have enjoyed this fragrance. Alas, nope. It’s too sweet and synthetic for my liking. As others have observed, the list of notes is certainly incomplete, because this scent contains loads of vanilla, and the sesame note gives it a gourmandish, rather than floral vibe. The mimosa note is not done too well, and it never manages to assert itself properly.

The powderiness in this perfume is not from mimosa, but from the sesame note which is stronger to my nose. The mimosa here is smooth and clean and not too fluffy/pollinated. I think I would get this more for the nutty note than the floral one, if I didn’t already have L’occcitane’s Melilot which has a similar scent profile.

Winter skin test. This one sits alot like the other Ikebana, quietly musky floral woody. Wood isn't woody, and the must is very soft, it gives a slight powdery edge to this. The mimosa is wet floral. This scent feels soft, rounded, slight powdery dry edge but remains .. creamy, it doesn't go wet wet floral.

This is nice. It’s fresh, sweet and floral. It smells clean and a bit creamy. It’s a soft, peaceful fragrance. There is something a bit earthy too that gives it a nice touch. I think it’s pretty inoffensive. A good choice if you want something clean and safe and not citrusy for summer.

This starts very much in the Flower family, and shortly after completely changes into A Drop d'Issey. I mean completely. I can't tell the difference between the two perfumes. No idea how, as the notes listed have nothing in common.

It has the OG DNA of Kenzo Flower, for my liking a bit too much, i wanted the yellow flower to shine more, they are there but in the background. Overall though it's fresh and pretty
