Flower in the Air

This is a fresh, bright red and deep pink fragrance. Juicy- and fruity- are words that come to mind. The scent profile is unique but simple- and when I first smelled this one around 2014, I had to have it. Kenzo's aesthetic is all about elegant simplicity, and this one feels like a youthful rendition of that- and an easy crowdpleaser. Top notes are Raspberry and Pink Pepper. The raspberry & rose combination had me sold- and may be underneath that red, red, juicy topnote. It's strong and immediately recognizable as Flower in the Air. I definitely get the airy effect because of its fresh aesthetic. This effect fades after about an hour. Pink pepper, to me, is not something I immediately smell as a stand-out feature- but after reading the notes- it's definitely there, but likely synthesizing with the other notes to create a musky base that throws the prominent features forward. Another way to put this: I owned about 4 pink pepper scents in my late teen years (before I knew anything about fragrance notes)- and was attracted to it as something that smelled a little complex, modern, and wild- like other basenotes- but still youthful and non-animalic. It was right up there with patchouli & amber for me for this effect. All of these scents had a peppery bite to them that was immediately noticeable. Flower in the Air (by comparison) has no bite- no wildness- and the pink pepper, to me, fades into the background and is muted by the rosy, raspberry juice. Middle notes are Rose, Magnolia and Gardenia. I smell all of these on the 1-2 hour mark, and the sharp raspberry fades. Because of the synthesis of notes, magnolia & gardenia aren't stand-outs to me. I'm smelling all of them at once- and it's airy, fresh, floral, and red. This is a red garden rose, rather than a powdery, english rose. Flower in the air is spot-on. The effect I think of is shopping in the organic grocery on a Saturday morning. It's refined, feminine, and sophisticated- at once. Silleage is moderate- and this is one you can sense from arm's length- but won't leave a trail. When my body heats up, I can smell this one emanating from my chest for 2-3 hours. Base note is White Musk. This one is a clean musk, and I can barely sense that it's there. It's shower fresh. Overall: Flower in the Air is about a 3 hour wear for me- with arm's length silleage- and an incredible fragrance. It is a floral, fruity scent that works best during daytime in warm or hot months. I spray this one heavily after a shower on weekend mornings- and it's modern, inoffensive- unique. If you're looking for something striking or signature- you'll need a respray after 2-3 hours. A 7/10 for me.

I'm writing this review as I'm smelling the perfume on my arm. I know it might sound odd but this perfume just boosted my ego, I feel very feminine, sophisticated and amazing. I usually wear light, flowery, fruity scents but this one is a great alternate. The opening is fantastic with rich and luxurious rose, plus the sweet berry helps the rose not to be overwhelming and old. But I think it's the gardenia that grows on you, the more I smell this perfume on me, the more I'm loving it. It's the clean yet luxurious smell that I've been looking for and really wanted Bulgari Omnia Crystalline to work but it smelled a bit heavy on me. I will definitely add it to my collection.

I really enjoy this fragrance, but it is really a shame that the base note only contains musk in it. It could be much more interesting and better developing fragrance if it had more notes combined in the base. Other than that, it is a nice, clean, soapy fruity floral fragrance. Much better than Kenzo's last few creations, but it lacks the WOW effect after all.

A lovely feminine scent! The perfect combination of rose and raspberry makes it a classy and soft fragrance with a spicy touch. It radiates beautifully through out the day, with a good longevity, about 8 hours. It reminds me the original Flower without the remarkable powdery notes. It's fresh and delicate, just like flowers dancing in the air!

On first spray I get melon and rose even though melon is not a note after the melon dries down I get rose and a hint of a white floral but mainly rose, this smells nothing like the OG Flower but it's still a beautiful scent that I will try to keep in my collection

A very pretty rose fragrance that almost reads like peony on the skin with some musk and pepper supporting it. The raspberry just sweetens the scent but does not make it a fruity floral in the least. Glad I blind bought this and love the bottle cap.

I figured it out, its taken me a while but I don't think I can handle musk. Its very strong in this for me and doesn't suit my skin or chemistry. Such a shame because it is very beautiful. I adore rose, gardenia and raspberry, gorgeous...

I've got vial spray for this. Spray it on my wrist, last about 6 hours until it fades. The scent is more airy that Flower. Long lasting and fresh. Thin feminine scent lingers. Love it. Much wearable than the Flower version.

Very aromatic kind of scent, but fresh and sirupy. Rose is really dominant, but raspberries give that sweet fruity vibe into the scent. There is also the strong musk undertone in the scent.

It's currently my favorite fragrance. I love it madly. A greedy, fresh, sweet and sensual embrace at the same time. Literally in love. The sillage is soft but it's adorable.

Oh yes! This is a nice fragrance! Subtle, sophisticated, flowery mild elegant spicy. It reminds me of Guerlain complexity. Love it. Light, clean, fresh, classy but young.

what I love from this perfumme is... how it brings a fresh feeling and confidence for me to start my day. Not so rosy but more "air" like more space to breath

Tried today. It almost brought tears to my eyes... no, I'm joking! well, that would be an exageration, yet Flower in the Air really came to my sense as a Kenzo-relief. Kenzo (if he cares about or rather leaves all the work to Others) launched some of the most beautiful and original perfumes of last decades. His original was a real floral dream. Real flowers. Jungle L'Elephant was an unforgettable daring powerful oriental. The longtime lost Kashaya, that smells like nothing else I ever smelled. Then Kenzo lost himself into the mists of fake plastic vanilla and burned nauseous powder... Kenzo Amour, nice enough but soooo headache cold vanilla, the same kind as HP. And then Flower. One of the nightmare scents of last 10 years. Something I cannot smell without feeling my throat clenching and wanting to... A long list of more or less meaningless works. Some good with Once upon... Now Flower in the Air. As I took the pretty enough but also a little tacky cheapie bottle in my hand, I thought: "Ok, let's go. We need to do it for perfume reference, but try it on paper first!" Oohhh! So nice and such a relief! Kenzo you came out of the burned plastic toxic mists, eventually! Flower in the Air comes as a relief! It's highly breathable and that's already a lot! And for the first time after years a Kenzo's perfume that state flowers in its name actually smells like something that can be called a flower. Name=thing, flower=flower, rose=rose. Not so difficult, an easy concept after all. Flowers in the Air starts with a good vaguely sparkling rose as a statement: I'm rose. I'm happy that the raspberry is done so gently and doesn't kill everything. This way it becomes a brilliant complimentary note to rose. The mentioned White flowers are present and playful, but quite subdue compared to rose. When the rose calms down it comes a sweet powdery musk. I should not like it at this stage but I actually do, maybe because it's vaguely reminiscent of Guerlain Idylle. Anyway a soft musky drydown with a gentle powdery edge, nothing screaming. This is a scent I could wear very easily in spring when the weather is only warmer but still chilly. It's pretty, good, uncomplicated, modern and girlish without being boring. Still chemical at certain degree, but gentle.

In 2013, Kenzo released this fragrance (not to be confused with the EDT version, announced in 2014), to integrate the Flower by Kenzo line, which is a sales success worldwide, taking the poppy as its central theme. The idea behind this creation was of a lighter poppy, as if the flower, which was planted on the floor, could achieve and bloom the sky. With a simpler composition, without resins or incense, this floral won lightness, getting less powdery, but still keeping the DNA of the traditional version. Flower in The Air EDP contains notes of raspberry and pink pepper, in the output; Magnolia, gardenia and rose in the heart; white musk at the base. Normally, the first impression you have of a fragrance that takes raspberry in its structure is that it will be sweet, with red berries aspect. A huge mistake! Here, the raspberry provides a slight bittersweet nuance, but what dictates the rules is still the bouquet of flowers. The scent of roses is perfect, as well as the presence of Magnolia, with its unique scent. The musk serves to terminate the evolution with its cleansing nuances, which transmit even more lightness to this fragrance. Although possessing Eau de Parfum concentration, Flower in The Air EDP does not exude for a long time but lasts fairly. For the fans of Flower by Kenzo, here is a great floral option for torrid days of summer or for those who need to wear perfumes in a more contained manner.

A nice, inoffensive fragrance. I personally think it's a bit of a stretch to claim "FITA" and the original "Flower" as similar. They are similar in the sense that they are both perfumes, and come from the same fragrance house, and are predominantly florals. I adore "Flower". No question. It's bold. It's powerful. It's straight-up gorgeous. It just brings me so much joy. "FITA" would be amazing if it was stronger - which I gather would be counterproductive to its name. It's meant to be airy and light, and it succeeds. Very slight raspberry beginning with gentle peppery, rosy overtones. It's the fragrance equivalent of meeting your idol, and realising they're actually human. PERFUME HACK: I can't detect it on my skin, but I'm loving it on my clothes! *** Kitty rating: 5/10. EDIT: 04-10-2020: Okay, I have to admit; this is actually starting to grow on me a little. A LITTLE! There have been some mornings (always fairly early mornings, strangely) where I have felt *this* is the only perfume I want to spray in that moment. I like it. I do like it. It's still not a true (in my opinion) flanker of "Flower", but...it's kinda nice. AMENDED Kitty rating: 6.5/10.

This was a gift that my husband personally picked out for me for Mothers day. It is sweet and i like it. The more i wear it the more it grows on me. If you ever smelled rose scented luxury bath soap from the 70's, this is that type of rose smothered in rasperry. The raspberry smells like bath and body works sun rippened raspberry body spray. There is a sprinkle of pink pepper. As the perfume dries it becomes more musky keeping the sweet rasperry and vintage rose. My husband loves this perfume and i receive alot of compliments wearing it. The best part about this perfume is smelling it wisp around me and through the air. It's 60 degrees outside with a slight breeze. I walk outside and in the wind the smell of roses and rasperry leave a lingering trail behind me and around me. It's quit beautiful. Sillage is soft but it continues to radiate softly all day. Longevity is about 6 hours. When you first spray Kenzo flower in the air wait a few minutes before smelling it, it takes time to settle and develop. If you smell it immediatly it's all sugary, after a few minutes it turns into something beautiful.

First of all- yes, I bought this because of the bottle. I adore everything with poppies, and when I saw this on the "sale" shelf... The bottle is like a design object in my room - irregular shape, simple,transparent lines and that red, bright poppy on the top. Beautiful! Now about the scent... I smell a dangerous rose in this perfume, and it reminds me that song by Kylie Minogue & Nick Cave "Where the wild roses grow". The opening is fresh, sweet, dewy, wild rose and juicy raspberry mixture with some lightweight very mild powder. I smell some sparkling pink pepper which gives French vibe to this potion. Then all this becomes more green, it must be gardenia. And then comes the "evil" in this wild summer garden -the musk. It adds a sensual, even a sin edge to the perfume. Modern, light, but still classic and quite unique daytime scent. " They call me The Wild Rose, but my name is Elisa Day..."

I've worn this both in summer and colder months and I must say that the sweetness is more suitable around fall and early winter or spring. The fruity blast in the high heat is obviously tamer and lends to brighten up the otherwise strong rose and gardenia. After 3 hours on me, the musk is noticeable and blends everything in a warm embrace. Longevity is excellent on me (about 6 hours) and please be mindful when spraying this, as with any Kenzo fragrance (in my experience) it is potent. I think 2 sprays are good enough in the summer heat (because the rose is more pronounced, unless you are a rose lover) and 4 in colder seasons. All in all, a very good perfume with excellent performance and if you are lucky you could get it at a very good price.

This is a delicious fruity floral: red fruits, blooming flowers, a sprinkle of pungent pepper that gives an edge without overpowering the other notes. The rose is modern, fresh and sweet. The powdery / soapy scent of the rose is subtle and perfectly balanced with an overall juicy / fruity vibe. On my skin, I don't pick up a drastic evolution in this fragrance, as it actually comes across as really smooth. The pepper transforms into the lemony notes of magnolia, the fruitiness lingers into the floral part. Flower in the air is a feminine fragrance that brings joy, it's perfect for spring and autumn, office and school friendly. A safe blind buy if you love juicy red fruity florals with an hint of spiciness.

I had low expectation for this perfume due to the negative comments, but surprisingly, I like it enough for it to be my primary go-to perfume for a few months. It's very flowery and powdery--if you're into woody scents you may not like it. Sweet with a lot of rose and berries in it. Longevity and sillage are excellent to me. Just a few spritzes on the right places and you're good. It's light enough to be worn in the day, but on a hot day it may turn overwhelming if you spray it even just a little bit too much. Overall, it's quite versatile and it's likeable enough for me to wear it quite often, but I can see why this doesn't sit well with some people. Rating: 7.5/10

I love the rose-raspberry-pink pepper trio in the opening. It's sweet and fresh and romantic, possessing the "airiness" that the name suggests. But after a while it slips into a rather generic fruity floral. There's nothing wrong with it and I wouldn't say nay to a bottle, I just wish it had a little more character. But I think this flanker is designed to be an unassuming, unobtrusive version of its predecessor and in that Kenzo has succeeded. I'm a firm fan of the original and don't see much resemblance outside of the rose note. This is light, slightly soapy and a skin scent vs. Flower's potent powder bomb. Don't assume love or hate based on one or the other.

This is what Flower would be without its musky powdery violet and with fresh fruity top notes. Fresh, easygoing and quite youthful. It's a sweet floral, but not sweet in a gourmand way at all. More like a typical pink floral fruity. Strangely the raspberry and gardenia notes strongly remind me of the sweet pea and freesia accord used in My Burberry. I even get more freesia than raspberry, actually. So I totally can see why Flower In The Air is also compared to Miracle. It's not quite as sophisticated and classy as My Burberry, but it's a very pretty fresh rose nevertheless, and a great Spring-Summer fragrance.

Magnolia forward musk with a bit of a pink pepper zing. Rose is fresh here. It does have an echo of Flower by Kenzo but it is in no way powdery. Possibly the musk is similar. Perfect for spring. Fresh, nearly to a fault. Clean. Reminds me of L'Aquarossa by Fendi. The performance is lackluster to my nose. It is perfectly pleasant and even shines a bit around me after all despite the fact that I barely feel it. Also Idôle by Lancome is similar. It stays on the skin till next morning leaving a nice musky rose scent. And my room gorgeously smells of it after I have been sitting there in it. Even next morning!

This is delicious rose syrup in a pretty bottle. I love it so much. It's floral, but unlike the typical floral scent- this is so delicious and creamy almost like it's edible, so yummy! I love it. It's not Britney Spears' fragrances kind of sweet, it's the sweet with depth, with delicate musk layered underneath. It's rich and yummy, honestly I can't stop sniffing my wrist after I spray this perfume on me lol P.S. oh also can we just appreciate how BEAUTIFUL this bottle is, like darn it I'll admit I blind bought it just for the bottle before discovering the beauty within.

From a floral lover this rose fragrance has that kenzo dna but the scent itself is sweet rose with something airy in the drydown like freesia or maybe the magnolia although the musk isn’t noticeable to me its there i can see it but not too much the opening is synthetic creamy raspberry and rose how does the raspberry snell creamy ? Idk when the fragrance settles a little it turns into rose and freesia with something creamy but not the gardenia creaminess another creaminess but fades right away when the base show off the fragrance turns into just rose and white musk

The name of the fragrance suits it very well! It leaves some very nice floral scent in the air. The sillage is moderate, longevity also moderate. I think it perfectly avoids the nausea that strong flowery fragrances sometimes can cause (at least for me); this one is fresh and sweet without being overpowering. Very feminine, and I prefer this one to the Flower In The Air Eau de Toilette. And keep in mind that I do not usually fall for floral scents since I love aquatic, citrusy ones. Well done Kenzo! And I could even imagine wearing this in the winter.

Flower in the Air is a clean and tranparent floral fragrance. I get mostly magnolia and some rose adorned with sweet sour raspberry, fresh, young and feminine. Unlike the original Flower, FITA doesn't have that powdery texture. Towards the end, the musk becomes more prominent. The sillage is relatively close and the longevity is around 8 hours. I find it less edgy than the original Flower, but easier to appreciate and wear. Not a surprising release, but a well structured one nonetheless.

This is very nice. It is very linear as others have mentioned. I don't really get the top notes at all- it goes straight to the rose and that is where it remains. The rose is tempered though by the other flowers so even a non-rose lover like me can enjoy this. The rose is not overwhelming. It's sweet but not sickly sweet. I don't get much of the original Flower in this, which IMO is a good thing Silage isn't great on this although longevity isn't bad. I wish it would project more.

This was love at first sniff! This one's lighter than the original Flower, which I have. Rose and magnolia are the dominant notes here, with undertones of raspberry and musk. I love that this is less powdery than the original too. It's fresh, elegant, floral and sweet. Longevity and projection on me is good, just like the original. As soon as I tested it, I knew that I desperately had to buy it! ♥

Love the smell of this but quite an uncomplex perfume compared to other kenzo perfumes. The main smell of it is a very sweet rose. It is quite a linear perfume which is most people think it doesnt last as long. I think it lasts just as long as others but because there is not much evolution of the scent, your nose gets use to it and then you cant smell it one yourself.

This one is really nice. It is a soft, clean fragrance, but it has a "body", if you know what i mean. It is delicate, elegant and feminine. Not overly flowery, not overly sweet. Office and date appropriate. The only con, is that it is not really unique. I imagine a young, intelligent and serene woman wearing it. Try this if you like musk and sweet florals.

Debenhams had this out already in July. It's less sweeter than the original Flower and less powdery. I can smell the raspberry and rose notes which stayed most prominant on my skin. It's still sweet but lighter, I can still smell it around 4 hours after spraying. Not something I would rush to buy but an ok pleasent day time scent in a nice shaped bottle!

This fragrance develops so strangely on my skin that I even can't believe it. After 10 minutes, it was like some chemical smell, something between deodorant and washing powder. Never got such effect before with any perfume, so I am deeply surprised. And, the smell is quite alright, not the way I want to rub it off. Just, it is very unusual on my skin.

I tried it today... Omg!! It's sooo different from other Kenzo perfumes.. It's not similar to Flower at all..! This is all about roses, it's delicate, light and super feminine.. On my skin it doesn't last a lot but it's a beautiful (spring-summer) rose scent..

my mom didn't like it because it has a very strong fragrance and she gave it to me. i liked it though, it's super fresh, flowery (rosy). for me, it's not a complex scent, the rose/flower scent is dominating. but i love flowers, so this was a go for me!

As the silliage is soft, I would like to have this to wear in the house, I can definitely detect the rose and gardenia. It's a very soft and pretty perfume, but for me, it's not my usual power fragrance like Poison or Poeme so it's one for the house.

I really love the packaging though the cap is a little bit loose. right after spraying smell a light fresh flower, floral and light. after a long time it's mainly sweet rasberry scent but the longevity is short, it lasts like 3 hours on me

Loved it when I bought it, cause the smell was fruity/floral but not nauseatingly sweet- and also a bit fresh. But after a while I started noticing harsh/plastic notes in it. I'm not sure what happened...

A rosy and sweet scent dressed in one of the most beautiful bottles. Fruity opening but I smell the rose magnolia and gardenia too. A good buy, especially for the bottle.

This is very sweet but I like it! The fruity raspberry makes this rose scent more modern and young. I could wear it out at night as well as during the daytime.

Interesting, the rose in this has a cottony note to it.. But because it's in the air it doesn't last that long.

In few words smells the same than the original but 2013 version. I like it.

I adore this, i tried it yesterday, it's magical

it’s giving me rose, fresh fruits, followed with a little spicy from the pepper. this isn’t something i would choose if i have to pick one from the counter but i got this as a gift. i’m not a flower person but this is pretty tolerable hence the fruity notes. the longevity is insane on me, so this is a good fragrance i would apply on weddings and more formal garden-outdoor occasions.

I really liked this one at first spray however the raspberry scent was a bit sharp and I think it doesn't blend well with rose. I am not a fan of fruity fragrance in general. It smelled cloying and too sweet and sadly, smelled cheap too (but I bought it at full price!) The bottle has been sitting on my desk for quite some time now. Longevity and sillage is moderate.

I bought this on a whim and I'm not happy. It's very rough on my senses. If you like soapy flowery scents, you may like this. I find it too strong and sweet, and slightly powdery. I'm so sad, the bottle is gorgeous.

I tried this at Ulta yesterday and I really don't like it. I was expecting something with much more character to it. It actually smells like Flower by Kenzo and it's just so common,unfortunately.

Flower in the air? More like cotton candy exploded in the air. LOL But it's still lovely. It's a rosy, sweet, sugary scent. If they made a rose flavored cotton candy, this would be the smell.
