Nuit Tatami

Nuit Tatami.. Oh my.. This is.. the best cocooning scent I have ever smelled. It took me so much time to be able to review it.. it's so unique! I'm usually not a big fan of lactonic fragrances (rice, milk, caramel, cream..). But here.. it's softened by the vanilla and freshened up by the musk mallow. And the pink pepper dose is just enough to spice up the scent without killing the sweetness. It's a bit sharp in the beginning but softens quickly.. And it's not too sweet like "Coeur Azuki". No.. it's the perfect dose of sweetness.. it's perfectly unisex. It smells like wood.. it smells like a vanilla cake.. it smells like a cozy grandma house.. warm.. the fragrance is warm and intimate. I spray it on my wrists before going to sleep.. Sweet dreams are guaranteed. 9/10.. I'm In Love.

You're having a sweet vanillic rice-based dessert while sitting on a tatami in a old, traditional Japanese house. I think this one is the most unique out of this new Kenzo line and it's also a very unique offering among other brands, designer or niche--- I've personally never smelled anything quite like it. I even get slight woody notes from Nuit Tatami. I agree with everyone else saying the performance is closer to an EDT or a cologne. It's quite short-lived... I actually feel like this one is shines more in chilly weather. Yes, it's delicate, subtle but also gourmand, cozy and inviting. It might feel a little bit out of place for summer.

No baby wipes smell for me. This is a beautifuly muted Kenzo's Amour. Very subtle, not an explosive vanilla bomb. The similarity with Dior Addict lies on a warm base that reminds of the tonka note. Creamy and soft, is a very calming and pleasant scent. Not as heavy as sweet perfumes use to be. The projection and sillage are not great, but the perfume is lovely.

pepper, a quality ambrette and heaps of pure earthy rice. it doesn't need ANYTHING else nor does it demand it. despite sounding simple I can't layer it with nearly anything else because the balance kenzo has struck here is something truly extraordinary. spicy&soft, delicate&unyielding, endearing&distinct. I am addicted! just lovely!

Clean musk+vanilla+rice. This is the perfect rice scent! I wanted to get Kenzo Amour for it’s riceness but was always put off by that plasticky-flower note that develops after 10 mins. This is basically it, without that flower. Amazing! Thais is what i hoped L’eau Papier to be

I just love parfumes that have pink pepper in their notes. I have samples from the whole collection and this one smells the most manly on me at least but i Loooveee it! This one and ciel magnolia

I love this scent because its so grown and sexy but you can literally only buy this collection at the airport 😭 whyyy

On its own is amazing but.., layered with Bulgari Magnifying Vanilla, is sublime.

Beautiful blend of vanilla, rice and pink pepper. Light, sensual and elegant.

Interesting - I tried this out without knowing what the notes were, and I thought it was quite woody, even enough to make it lean slightly more masculine in my opinion. I did notice the vanilla right away, though. Since this is inspired by tatami mats, I guess my impression was pretty close to the concept of the scent. Maybe it's the rice that gives it that woodiness. I just immediately think "this is somebody's home" when I smell it - it's like pinewood furniture on a background of indescribable notes, like when you enter someone's house, and you immediately know that's exactly where you are because it's got that unique smell of a thousand things combined. This one is probably my favorite out of this collection so far.

I really enjoy the rice and pepper in this, it comes off very soft, starchy, and just a little savory. My only real complaint is that it leans a bit sweeter/more vanillic than I was hoping it would, but other than that, this is a very cute and comforting scent! Just be aware that the projection and longevity is not great, so if you're looking for something very strong with a lot of presence this is not for you.

The initial phase just for a brief minute is sharp and spicy, but it mellows down very soon and you get the softest, warmest, coziest composition of airy vanilla, milky rice and sparkling spices. In some moments it even seems like very softened down Shalimar. I like Nuit Tatami a lot. Very nice, not cloying or heavy, this is just a whispering perfume, so might be just a bit overpriced. Perfect autumn scent. +

this one is so pretty! musky, powdery pink pepper with a barely-there vanilla dry down! this is a very inoffensive office scent for sure, i don't think there's insane performance but i do really like it! i feel like this reminds me a lot of l'eau papier from diptyque, there's a similar starchy quality that feels so delicate <3 edit: had to come back to this one, it actually reminds me a lot of fleur de peau!

Upon the initial test, the opening is nutty and savory like, quite unique. As it develops, it gets sweeter and sweeter. The drydown reminds me of the OG Dior Addict, which I absolutely love! I thought there’s tonka bean in it like the OG Dior Addict does, but seems like it’s not listed in the pyramid. It’s a semi-gourmand scent, particularly the opening, but I don’t think the vanilla is the edible type.

I get a lot of oranges in here: bloody orange, orange blossom and orange liquor. |I also get Licorice and Lavender. Overall sweet and spicy - yes! It reminds me of Lira by Xerjoff, boozy Iris Shot of Olfactive Studio, and of Christmas. My review of this KENZO collection is already on my YouTube. Dina_France

This is powdery, a bit sweet and sits very close to the skin. A light rice powder scent. It's more like a fragrance mist than an EDP. Perfect for summer since it's so light.

It does remind me of a new tatami mat in the top note. But it soon turns into slightly powdery vanilla.

I think this is more of an iris scent than rice. I put these more in rank of skin on skin and infusion d'iris. L'Heure Promise I by Cartier also seems more suitable in sense of comparison, but with less quality. Especially very powdery. In the opening I mainly discover pepper. After some time it settles down and the base notes appear more. In my opinion this is mostly musk and iris. I can't notice much vanilla. Maybe very light in the background to calm the peppery part and in a later phase when drydown comes to it's last stage. My opinion: this is overall a clean musky skin scent with a rather poor sillage and moderate longevity. 6/10

The range is claimed as EDP but the intensity and strength is very light like Cologne. As usual, recently Kenzo parfums launching fragrance within safe territory. Hope one day, they would reconsider something daring like Kenzo le monde est beau / Kenzo Jungle / Kenzo Homme (old version) cuz i feel their fragrance is starting to loose the original identity of the brand.

I was interested in this fragrance because some people were able to smell Tatami. As I own Tatami mats and enjoy the scent of them, I was so excited. But unfortunately I cannot smell anything Tatami in it. It is a peppery and lighter Version of Kenzo's Amour. Not more, not less.
