Kerelem Elemi

Got a sample of this in a pack of samples, and it's the highlight! Never heard of it or the brand, but I love it! Extremely natural smelling and very unique. Balmy woods, kinda green with incense and leather. Really interesting! Really good preformence. The first hour or two has good projection. Safe and pleasant wear. This is absolutely a year round fragrance. It screams spring/autumn, but is fresh enough for summer and strong enough for winter! I'd buy a bottle if it was easier found where I live. $140 for a full bottle isn't too bad for a quality niche fragrance! Great stuff!!

I’m patiently waiting for this one to explode in popularity. Elemi, aldehydes, aromatic cedar, amyris, incense and a distant base of leather come together to create a clean, crisp scent that’s equally fresh and soapy as it is earthy and green. The kind of fragrance you can inhale for an aromatherapeutic pleasure.

Interesting scent. Had a sniff in a shop in Tokyo. My first introduction to Kerzon. This was the only one that stood out. I thought it was a tad underwhelming for sillage and longevity but nice none the less. I found this on special locally so I took a plunge. Exactly how I remember it. This time though after half an hour I find more leather than before. It’s nothing extraordinary. Just a weak (for EDP) leather with the Elemi and mostly smooth incense. The opening is what gets me though. A deep cooling super smoothly blended incense with elemi and cedar. And I mean super smoothly blended. After 30 minutes this softens and splits from the leather base giving two layers but by then it’s a few inches from the skin. Nice, a novelty but for me only at the right price. I fail to see how some reviews below are so generous.

This is really excellent. Scent profile is spot on with a strong performance. Kerzon is an undervalued brand. I have bought many things from them over the years and they never let me down. Scented sachets for drawers etc are outstanding. This perfume seems not to be on their website anymore, so discontinued perhaps. In any case they haven't been able to deliver to the UK in over a year now, for the obvious reason...

From the Kerzon website: Top: Elemi, caraway, aldehyde. Middel: Aromatic cedar, amyris, incense. Base: Haitian vetiver, Javanese vetiver, vegetal leather. I find the aldehyde quite strong personally this is a deal breaker. If you like Oriza l legrand Rave you will like this, pretty similar, an airy dry resin and a touch Smokey. Vintage feel, not my thing but quality.

This is an excellent fragrance. Agreed with Joey.W's comment that there's something natural and organic about the scent profile; I can't quite put my finger on it - but beneath the elemi note, there's a note that's somewhere between green/earthy and a clean soapy "fresh air" smell. It's one of a rare few fragrances that I can truly inhale deeply and feel a sense of euphoria. (The only other fragrance that's ever taken me to euphoria is Santal 33) I will wear this for many years to come.
