Onyx Gold

Onyx Gold is a fantastic Interpretation of Clive Christian Blonde Amber. It starts out boozy, spiced and dried fruit sweet. It leans masculine, but the right type of woman could pull this off. After 15-20 minutes it evolves into what everyone knows the DNA to be. Resinous Amber, soft woods, vanilla, continued sweetness, and a touch of patchouli. I enjoy Onyx Gold compared to the other Clive Christian Blonde Amber inspirations when it comes to projection. It has an airiness and light touch that Amber Empire doesn’t have. Onyx Gold has such an opulent and sophisticated aura to it. TLDR: If you want to smell like wealth and power, then this is the fragrance for you. I was looking to get Amber Empire, but ran across a deal on Onyx Gold and Silver that I couldn't pass up. Man am I glad I got this one. It's super long lasting, and plenty strong enough(any stronger and it would be too noisy for this type of fragrance). This is a yummy woody, spicy, powdery, and vanilla fragrance. I'm not sure if this has tobacco but if it doesn't the green notes trick my nose into smelling tobacco. At first it reminds me of Cuba Brown with a hint of dark citrus(think the rhind), and the sweet notes are there but they are more muted. Later on the spices and powdery vanilla take over, and that's about it. So overall it reminds me of Cuba Brown with Lattafa Eternal Oud combined. I love this stuff, and it was an excellent buy.

Successful blind buy as I’m a very big fan of GS. As of now the performance is really weak, projection and sillage is average. Might have to let it macerate for a while. I don’t own or have smelled Blonde Amber. But I’ve smelled Grand Soir before in a store and I own a dupe of Grand Soir by Fragrance World and it reminds me of them. This smells similar in that direction even though there’s no amber. To me this smells like a more fruitier and a lil bit woodier version of Grand Soir. All I can say is if you’re a big fan of GS and boozy-powdery-ambery-resinous fragrances, you’ll love this. I wouldn’t say it’s redundant to own this (or perhaps even BA) if you own GS. It’s unique in its own way, it’s gorgeous and I love it.

I havent smelled Blonde Amber so I can't compare. The opening is the part I dont like : sickly sweet from the dried fruits, smoky and boozy. After 30mins its much better : sweet, slightly fruity, woody, powdery, ambery scent with a hint of spiciness. Very nice scent for the cooler months. Longevity is about 5h, I will let it macerate. Cold weather scent. I tested the 3 most known Blonde Amber clones : Faris al Arab, Khadlaj Onyx Gold and French Avenue Amber Empire. All 3 are 95% to one another, Faris Al arab has a slight cherry drydown, Onyx Gold has a more fruity sweetness drydown and Amber Empire more ambery. I would say, buy the one that is avalaible at the cheapest price.

I really like this scent, lightly powdery, with just the right balance of vanilla and woodiness, not too strong. I'd rate this as unisex, I think it will still smell great on a female. Can spray on clothes, well balanced scent, no prominent nauseating base note to get stuck in the drydown even with patchouli listed in its base as it's hardly noticeable. I really like this layered over a DIY Molecule 02 (5% ambroxan) for even more performance and sillage, and a nice whiff of ambroxan. I'll be using a DIY Molecule 01 later also for performance and a velvety scent, amplify the woods a bit.

Never smelled what this inspire by so cannot compare- to me this is a warm cosy autumn and winter fragrance- warm spicy and boozy but very smooth. I have Amber Empire as well but onyx gold is better in terms of longevity and smoothness. Khadlaj are very good at taking the DNA of a fragrance and making it more well rounded and balanced. This perfume house has more hits than misses. They are just a little later to the game with this Blonde amber dupe

This such a beatiful fragrance especially for the price (28€). I can’t say how close it is to CC blond amber since it’s been well over a year the last time I sampled it but if you’re looking for a boozy amber mature scent give this one a try. Honestly might be the best fragrance under 30€ that I bought. I don’t usually have high praises for dupes but this deserves way more attention

This is a great interpretation of Blonde Amber for an incredible price. Performance is decent and the scent stays for quite a while. Pretty average in those areas honestly. You do have to like the boozy, dried fruit and wood scent DNA to like this one. Definitely suits cold fall and winter months, I would not wear this in warm weather. I'd agree that it isn't blind buy safe.

AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! This is the best Blonde Amber Inspiration, it's a resinous powdery take on the DNA with the spices toned down making it SEXIER - God this smells SO SO GOOD. I'm buying 2 backup bottles, not even joking & I'm gatekeeping the hell out of this fragrance. The atomizer is amazing & it smells very expensive. Get it. Literally just buy it.

When i first got this fragrance, all it smelled like was the fruit notes and nothing else, reminiscent of some medicine I used to take as a kid. A week later, the fragrance developed into something amazing and addicting. A very beautiful smell. The downside however, is a funky smell in the deep dry down. Otherwise it would be a perfect fragrance.

Really solid. Blind bought no regrets I get more of an amber feel vs boozy and the vanilla adds a very nice sweetness . I think it can be an everyday fragrance, I do not feel it lasts long 6 hours max , more confident in the 4 hour range. Having said that Probably my favourite vanilla in my collection

For me, Onyx from Khadlaj is less complex and a more appealing alternative to Blonde Amber. I have both, and I think it’s about 90% close. Moreover, unlike other Khadlaj fragrances, it lasts long and the quality is so good, bang for the buck. This house doesn’t miss at all when it comes to clones.

Very nice Bang for buck $22 is a steal. If budget no issue buy Lattafa AA3 but pls avoid Amber empire. Buy this one instead. This interpretation is fresher than others. The projection lasts 60-75 minutes max after that it lasts on skin/clothes for 8 hrs.

I've never tried CC Blond Amber, but this is a very nice scent regardless. it's lasted 9 hours so far but was a skin scent after about 5. Blind buy safe if you like boozy, sweet scents.

Absolutely gorgeous fragrance. Sweet, decadent, fruity smells rich and affluent. Doesn't last very long, but oh boy does it smell nice!!

Interesting scent profile but weak performance even high heat conditions in Ghana.

Beautiful sexy well blended...a perfect perfume for winter/fall evenings.
