Fik'r

Khaltat - Blends of Love is a brand I stumbled upon in Dubai back in November 2019. And I came back home with 2 of their offerings (very unusual of me to buy on the spot): Fik'r and Liebe. Liebe was already in Fragrantica database for some years now but the rest was not, good to see they are now added. So how does Fik'r smell? An overdose of Cashmeran with leather/vetiver texture next to it and lime on top. A simple yet complex enough combination. Penhaligon's Halfeti-type scent profiles use such combination in more complex forms so it may be hard to relate. CdG fragrances overdoses Cashmeran often in a more peppery-sandalwoody way (but Cashmeran-vetiver is often constant). Here the edge is really at the opening, that lime and perhaps even some mint, contrasting the deep, rich, smooth woody-musky intensity of Cashmeran. There seems to be some ambrox-patchouli-musk combo similar to Aventus base hidden somewhere in the mix, as-if if you take Molecule 05 (naked Cashmeran) and layer with Aventus, you'd get something like this. I can really see this juice in a Bvlgari Le Gemme bottle (next to Tygar) or in a Comme des Garcons pebble bottle (next to Wonderoud). Overall, it doesn't smell like your typical UAE fragrance, it's super modern, doesn't smell cheap (well, Cashmeran never does really) and actually great value for money. If this juice was in an established brand's bottle, it would gather quite some positive comments. If you like the scents like Aventus, Orage, Tygar and expect some mojito vibes accompanying, check this out. The performance/longevity/sillage is more than acceptable, you especially get nice whiffs of it from your clothes at the end of the day.

It's screaming rich gulf arab not much else. I wear when I want to feel expensive. Not everyday fragrance. Special occasion only.
