Aromatic Blends: Vetiver & Black Tea

I love tea fragrances and this one makes a nice addition to my collection. It is a spiced tea scent with earthy undertones. Well balanced and easy to wear, it has very airy feel to it. I don't mind soft sillage because it doesn't suffocate me or reminds that it is there all the time. On me it lasted for 3-4 hours but I can still detect it on my shirt 12 hours later (the smell it very faint and clean). I can see myself wearing it when I want to smell fresh but create a no-perfume illusion (just like wearing a nude make-up that is barely noticeable)

A crisp, uncomplicated scent and all the better for it. It’s not much more than a citrus-tinged, black tea (two tea bags, not one), and a touch of vetiver. Pressing one’s nose to their skin, you can sense some gently spicy pepper and a whisper of woods (provenance: unknown) grounding it all. A good choice for anti-perfume types, or for those who prefer quiet fragrances. Such a shame it’s been apparently discontinued. I would have stocked up on this one. :/ SO: What is *that*? Me: Don’t touch it. Once it’s gone, I can’t replace it. Stay away.

In the opening, black tea is the most prominent note, while the other listed notes stay in the background, but are clearly there. Then, slowly, vetiver takes over the lead, and is in the drydown joined by pepper. Personally, I enjoy a touch of vetiver and pepper in a fragrance, but not if those notes are very prominent. In the drydown of Vetiver & Black Tea they are. Unfortunately for me, because I love the opening, where the tea note is exactly the type I enjoy: non sweet, non perfumery, non musky, non soapy - just very refreshing and aromatic, it really smells like pure black tea. So if you love the smells of both vetiver, black tea and pepper, this uncomplicated and natural smelling, quite light and fresh fragrance is absolutely worth testing. I definitely agree that it smells unisex.

The black tea and pepper notes are great, but I stopped buying it since the smell disappears so quickly.

A really lovely scent, but the sillage and longevity are both appalling after a few minutes. It may not be very expensive, but it's still not worth the money for such a fleeting fragrance.

The only tea fragrance I owned. It smells great, really fresh and wakes me up in the morning. But then again it literally dies down after 20 minutes, it's a shame.

Smells a lot like Davidoff Adventure, but a lot more refined and less alcoholic in the opening.
