Nitro Noir

Yes, mchampion, mapache, khartford you nailed it. Nothing powdery or too girly about this scent. It's a gender bender blend that's refined, sexual, distinctive. Since I have a hard time profiling it as anything like any other patchouli fragrance in my collection, though it could be a cousin of Tom Ford's White Patchouli meets Gucci Rush, I'll describe it visually. It's how I imagine a real life scene of Eyes Wide Shut would smell-- blend of old, European money meets young, sexy things male and female, all very expensive, distinctive, yet somehow dirty. I would classify it as a night into day scent. The open for the evening but the dry down (this is a longevity beast) is perfect for the morning after all suited up and going to work. Not a casual fragrance, however. Professional or special occasion only, I would say. Only a handful of other fragrances in my collection garner as many comments from strangers. Will be interesting to see what this brand comes out with next. Anyone heard any news on that front?

I'm in love with this fragrance. I can't decide if I like it more on my skin or on my boyfriend. There is nothing sweet or syrupy about this fragrance so it works well on him. I would warn that this is for sure not a scent for wall-flowers, however. I don't think I ever got so many compliments on a fragrance as this one. I thought it would have some floral or tropical notes in it because of the packaging but it is a rare kind of patchulli blend. Very sophisticated. I imagine it smells like a glamorous Italian film-noir actor. Be careful about overspray. It can be too intense. Lasts incredibly long. Almost too long. The next day I was still smelling it and had to chose my fragrance for the day to blend.

This was my first fragrance from this house, and I really like it :) A nighttime scent for sure, Red berries and powder are what I get from this, which does lean towards that makeup/lipstick smell. Because of this, it's far more on the feminine side of unisex than masculine but, as a man, I still enjoy it and have been complimented many times- I think this is because of the lack of many male mainstream/designer comparisons but is mainly down to the strong red berries note which opens the fragrance and never let's go. This isn't as unisex as the recent Rose Ink, but I still think men can pull it off. It lasts really well and projects heavily especially in intimate settings or in cold environments.

LADIES THIS IS AN AMAZING DATE NIGHT/NIGHT ON THE TOWN FRAGRANCE (you know if we ever do those anymore). Orris Root, berries, & patchouli is a dream combo. It's alluring and sensual and sweet, but the patchouli cuts it and gives a library, mysterious vibe. I picture this on an NYC it girl - it's like you embrace your femininity, yet have nothing to prove. Sensual but not vulgar, confident but not self-conscious, sweet but not cloying. Make up smells yes, but not the generic designer "dept store" smell we've become accustomed to.

Lipstick/makeup/powdery vibe. girls what are you waiting for this is a very nice scent who loves these types of scents (in that genre) on the first sniff I really liked it but there was no way I could imagine it on my neck that would not be fair. the whole line is declared as a gender bender+ or non-gender perfumes this is unisex. but this is a real shame a man to wear. wonderful for going out club and for girls :) 20 - 30

It is an evolved, more complex Gucci Rush. I am fine with others disliking it, as I know how divisive GR is (and it was even more polarizing back in the early 2000's!). This is pure sex, dirty but not 'ick', bold and flirty. It smells exotic and foreign but extremely familiar (likely the nostalgia associated with such DNA). Love, love, love.

The notes listed here are wrong. Kierin's website lists pink berries, not pink pepper. And you can clearly detect the fruit in this scent. It's a beautiful fruity patchouli, dark yet fresh at the same time. Love it.

My nose was greeted with a strong alcohol and waxy scent as it landed on my skin. Might i say, reminded me of what smells like the very expensive rouge lipstick I have been fond of using. As it macerated, the air has slowly gotten filled with a melange of faint smells of dried fruit skins and flowers reminiscent of a tea market blending with the afternoon breeze of autumn. The after smells left a waxy feel, reminding me of the time when i scraped my teeth from biting too hard on a sweet dragon fruit, peeling a little of its inner skin or from when i chew a slice of honey comb. While the initial pulse sent a warm and sweet feminine fragrance, i find Nitro Noir rather also interesting to smell from a man, as the sillage carries a cool and fresh scent, as if an introduction to the arrival of he who is confident enough to wear pink.

Bottega Veneta-adjacent, but sweeter. The opening has a tinge of cigarette to me, but I actually really like that. The range of opinions below is so interesting - to me, this leans feminine due to the sweetness, but has depth and complexity that reads as more mature femininity. The reviews can't even agree on whether or not Nitro Noir is sweet! (It is, just not in a vanilla way.) I've tried pretty much everything that gets compared to Bottega Veneta, and this is my favorite (after BV itself, which ultimately can't be beat). Runner up is Iris Goddess from Floral Street.

Berry forward fragrance that I can't quit smelling, this one surprised me how much I liked it! Pretty unique as I haven't smelled anything like this personally. Gives off an almost makeup/powdery vibe that I assume comes from the orris note. A really nice fruity and sweet floral blend that dries down perfectly on skin. Nearly gourmand, but stays just above the line for me as it's not too sweet. 1 spray is plenty to fill a room and will last you easily 8+ hours!

Comes across on first spray as mainstream powdery, fruity, with patchouli but by no means a patchouli driven or intense fragrance; other fruits not listed like maybe plum or black currant, definitely berries, some florals and some vanilla; the base and final drydown are pretty lovely with what smells like sandalwood along with the rich patchouli and a hint of sweetness from the berries. This is not a huge projection fragrance. It is close to the body and skin.

Makeup bag scent. I'm not a huge lover of this genre they smell roughly they same to me - definitely pleasant though. Valentino Donna / E coudrey Iris Rose springs to mind. This one is a little longer lasting and on the sweeter side VD / EC are much more dry and disappear very quickly I guess the prices reflect that. Gucci Rush is a touch similar but more fruity and synthetic this is pretty authentic no plastic in here.

This is a unique and delicious unisex fragrance. It has just enough sweetness to balance the spicy and patchouli notes; deep and beautiful and certainly a colder weather scent - I find it very addictive and it performs very well. I can imagine it may be quite a divisive scent.

Really enjoyed the sample I received. I love Patchouli! Deep, fizzy, floral scent with good longevity. It dries down lovely on the skin. Patchouli hates avoid!

Nitro Noir is not my favorite. I think there is a berry note in here, but I'm not so sure. The make-up nuance of the orris root and the dirty, slightly sweet, earthiness of the patchouli are the main notes here. There is a slight pink pepper smell that's mixed with the patchouli. Both variables tone down the orris root smell to make it a unisex fragrance that DOES LEAN FEMININE. Every dude WILL NOT be able to pull this off. I am a testament to that. Nitro Noir scent is incredibly "make-up and hairspray-like" on my skin, so I'm not a fan, but good news is it's also very long-lasting as well. A 4-star quality product that I am not a fan of. It's quality fragrance, but the scent just doesn't work for me, but don't take my word for it. For any fragrance, read reviews before buying it, but take them with a grain of salt. Everyone has their own opinion regarding smells. Some people love a specific fragrance. Some people hate it. My advice is for you to get a sample of ANY fragrance before you ever buy it. That way, you can assess it yourself and have your own thoughts rather than strictly going off someone else's thoughts and opinions. So, do not let my opinion influence you.

Not bad! to my nose it definitely leans more feminine with the red berries combined with the bergamot. I could see this working excellently for a night out or on a date, pretty likeable and non-offensive. Performance and longevity definitely above average, so no worries about that. Overall a simple but solid release at a reasonable-ish price, check it out!

The opening on this fragrance nearly made me throw up - it's very potent, like there is something rotting (not the sickly sweet smell of rot, but more like rotting leaves). A few minutes in, it settles into something that reminds me of an Oriflame perfume from 20 years ago. It's powdery and cheap smelling.

I really love the opening notes, earthy, ashy, cold. But then the smell becomes sweeter balsamic, and I can't get rid of the association with pickled mushrooms. An interesting one.

I like a well done patchouli and iris/orris but this ain't it, it gives me cleaning product and/or furniture polish vibes unfortunately. I might be the only one as all I'm seeing is positive reviews here. They are right, it is intoxicating, but for me it's not in a way I would like it to be :D

Big NO. Patchouli with pepper smells like dusty tires. I wouldn't want my man to smell like this neither.

HOW is this a perfume? Pure dustiness with some burning plastic. The contents of my dustpan would smell better.

Seriously regret buying this. Headache-inducing. There’s nothing ‘Noir’ about this in my opinion. It’s neon pink or purple to me. Plasticky, hairspray, 80s, screechy, nauseating, synthetic, candy, makeup mess. Tacky is the best word I can find to describe it. Absolutely nothing masculine about this in my opinion either. Can’t see this as unisex, or on ANY person over the age of 16 really! I almost can’t take it seriously. It smells like sweets. I get no patch, nothing earthy to my nose. Just smells like some kind of aerosol and it’s mostly gone in 15 minutes! The drydown is where it more resembles an actual perfume rather than a hair styling product - reminds me of Iris Goddess by Floral Street.

A + !!! IMO...I get a mix of Gucci Rush men and Gucci Rush women and....better than both of them !!! Unisex surely. I get a definite patch/orris blend tinged with pink pepper and all "soothed" with bergamot. It is reminding me of something else too,but can't quite figure it out ...yet. This scent for sure goes thru "development" on the skin...so let it "do-it's-thing" with your chemistry Hmmm....I also am getting a cedar-ish vibe,although not present in the notes..???...The tad of sweetness that is present sits underneath...and rises and falls. Great sillage/projection..great blend and quality,IMO. Awesome!!!

First of all, I love patchouli and I love pepper. I don't like powdery and don't like sweet. With that being said, I get patchouli and pink pepper, but do not find this powdery or sweet like the pyramid suggests. This is more of a fresh, peppery, patchouli, berry on me. It is definitely unisex and every time I wear it, I smell something different. This is my favorite out of the line and just purchased a bottle. I find a glimmer of Bond No. 9 Bryant Park in this, but this is more fresh. I think it wears well in the heat and imagine the cold will work as well.

I can see reviews on this fragrance are very divisive, and I can see why. It is not a fragrance that is universally appealing. It is unisex right in the middle , but the opening is a bit dirty/earthy and can put some people off. To me this is a patchouli and iris strong chypre. It has a lipstick vibe that smells a bit plasticky, as in Gucci Rush, but as other reviewer said, more masculine. It is dusty and not very sweet, but I find it easy enough to wear. My husband really enjoys wearing it too. Not a masterpiece, but more than a decent frag for the price.

The opening is very heavy on the patchouli, and gives off that earthy dirty patchouli vibe. But as it dries down several minutes later it becomes sweeter and spicier. This fragrance is marketed as unisex but it definitely leans on the feminine side. and would work better on a mature women than a younger woman. It remind me of Gucci rush for the ladies but with a heavier patchouli note. a good fragrance, but nothing ground breaking in my opinion. I loved Santal Sky from this line, that one is bottle worthy.

Spice and patchouli. I’m not sure it gets any better than this! It’s got a bite because of the pepper, which I love. This smells a heck of a lot like Bottega Venetta but not a dupe. Just very similar. Even though I love all the BV ones (like the OG, velours, etc) I’m still thinking of buying this one. Especially since this one doesn’t have any dyes like the BV ones all have, and I’m highly sensitive to dyes. Very patchouli heavy so must love patchouli!

I bought this because of the "Reminds me of" section - anything that has BOTH Gucci Rush and Commodity Orris as comparisons should be a sure thing as I love both of those so so much. Unfortunately this was not what I thought it would be. I'm so surprised that people think that this leans feminine - to me it's very masculine. It's like a Gucci Rush but for men. Would like it for a guy but not for me.

Wow. In a bad way. Its one of those that is so heavy that it wears you. Like a more patchouli and less intriguing Gucci Rush, more cloyingly sweet. Made me sick. Might work on someone, but I'm not sure who. I might have a hard time giving this one away. I might just have to abandon it in the guest bathroom in hopes that someone steals it on game night.

Update: On most everyone else that we have tried it on, it smells like a cheap generic chapstick. That kinda waxy and fruity smell. Still very gross though, not a keeper. I can't even give it away. If you are interested, let me know...

I disagree with Floffles! I think this scent is individualistic, which is what the brand stands for. Definitely for the person looking to stand out in a crowd! It has a unique, peppery, fruity scent. One of my favorites!

Simple but catchy. I am also a fan of Gucci Rush :) this doesnt smell like Rush though... more like a Lalique perfume - Perles. Not a bad patchouli but I dont think it's worth the price.

This is making me nostalgic for something in the 80s I can't quite place. Exclamation? Electric Youth?
