Ethic

This is an excellent juice. I haven't yet tried Amouage Epic, upon which this is based, but it has an Amouage west-meets-east feel to it. Most Amouages I have tried are sweeter, more resinous and more middle eastern than this, but the western lean here might actually make this more versatile, and less intimidating than Amouages can sometimes be. Scent-wise, the predominant note here is cedar, of the sauna variety. The frankincense and myrrh combination adds a second accord of (non-church) incense, as well as a smooth, lightly-sweet cardamom/amber underpinning (while amber isn't a listed note, coumarin is listed in the ingredients). The scent progresses with flashes of pepper, cumin (of the non-B.O. variety, thankfully), lavender, geranium, cinnamon, mace (similar to bay leaf), patchouli and musk. I don't know what myrtle smells like, and I don't get the castoreum, leather or oud that this promises. These are all evanescent, so the fragrance changes every 10 minutes or so. This is different from what most folks are wearing, in a very good way. For those who say that cheapies are all synthetic or generic, this one is an excellent counterargument. My new bottle is not a performance beast, so don't expect to get 8 hours or more. Over the last few days, I have gotten 4 - 6 hours, and I am hoping that maceration will make future performance tend to the higher end of this range. The takeaway is that if you like the sound of a cedar, incense and amber fragrance with lots of subtle element shifts, this might be your jam.

A green and spicy scent, which makes for a beautiful fragrance for slightly warm weather, in my opinion. I could imagine a CEO wearing this. I live in a very cold climate, so for me this is definitely an early/late summer fragrance, but it might be best suited for fall/spring in most of the world. Regarding longevity and projection, it's probably somewhere between moderate and long/strong, depending on your skin type and whether you apply it to clothes or hair. I think this is a fragrance you can get Anosmia from wearing (i.e. going nose-blind). I would say this is a sophisticated, elegant, mature, masculine fragrance—not a young sexy fragrance—so it is best suited for men over a certain age. It is generally easy to wear, and I can't imagine anyone finding this offensive; I think this is office-safe if you don't overdo it.

922 in my "Tour de Fraagrance" This is a dead-on clone of my second most favorite Amouage scent, "Epic." It's got a beautiful and attractive plethora of notes that together make a delicious and potent all day scent with a warm incense quality that's not over-the-top oriental and makes the wearer bear-huggable. Unlike the other Killer Ouds this one is a moderate performer. Sillage2 hours, skin scent till lunch. It's the only one of the line I would say you'd respray at lunch, but at $26 you can't expect much more. Car pool, elevator and small office safe but go easy. Another successful blind buy!

I can attest that this performs poorly. Great scent profile, but certainly needs to be reapplied a few hours later. I have sampled many Amouage offerings but not Epic Man. A shame. Certainly need to sample it now. I bought this based off of the profile and am happy with it. Sub $30. Worth it. I usually enjoy frankincense, myrrh, and geranium. I don't pick up the geranium here. But I do get a bit of the cardamom and saffron notes. Again, weak. For the price it is something you can toss in a bag and use it when necessary. Edit: After a few wears, I have noticed that it lasts several hours on clothes. Low projection, but it ia there. On skin, still not long at all. Could be my chemistry.

This is going to be my first review, but after a blind buy I will start to do this because I find it important. It's a green perfume, everything here smells good except for some top note during the first 10-15 seconds, but after it is pleasant, The main problem so far is that has 0 longevity, after 1 hour or so I can only smell it if I put my arm right next to my nose, maybe it stays longer in clothes, worth to try or maybe it needs to "macerate", but it's not as impressive as I expected.
