Midnight Ecstasy

This is gorgeous in the air. Its not complex but isn't easy to describe either. And even though its beautiful in the air, It's not at its best up close, so best not to spray it too close to the nose, or on your wrist and keep smelling it up close off your wrist. Like other fragrances, its at its best with some distance It's a little dark, its sweet and its powdery. It has oud, but isn't oudy at all. It has rose but isn't rosey either. in the air it smells like a sweet, powdery and sharp-ish dark chocolate (I was convinced this had a dark chocolate accord, but the notes proved me wrong) mixed with tonka bean, with the sweetness of the oud and rose, but none of the over-opulent nature of both. There's black pepper but it isn't peppery at all. Its more of the aromatic smell of peppercorns without the "pepperiness." Its definitely a night-time fragrance. If dark purple had a smell, this would be it. Although it doesnt smell like black orchid by TF, I feel like they could be used in the same situations. If black orchid is more feminine leaning for some, then this would be your masculine alternative. For the price its amazing. The bottle is beautiful too. its not beast-mode but definitely projects and lasts a good while. I'll say it again, up close it isn't all that, but in the air, its stunning.

#908 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I'm a big fan of Valentino scents, and I wish this were a clone of "Noir Absolu" as the only place to still find it is from eBay scalpers. But to me it comes off more as a less rosey, more woody Vuitton "Les Sables Roses." But certainly not a clone of that scent. Nevertheless, if you are a woods fan, as I am, this is one you're gonna like, because boy howdy is this woody! Strong longevity and projection. So be merciful to those in your space and don't overspray this. I think this is probably not a scent for date night. And I think wearing this, or any strongly woody scent, requires some confidence on the part of the wearer. For me, this is a successful blind buy.

Please, do not believe any of the reviews of the user below me, if you check his history in reviewing half of the stuff he smells is either disgusting or nauseating, I guess COVID hit his smell sense more than he'd like to think. This fragrance is legitimately underrated, I smelled the OG from a friend and it is really really close, performance is also great, I agree with the user who said this is kinda like a masculine alternative to Black Orchid while not smelling very similar to it.

I love it. Dark & mysterious. I get a strong chocolate vibe when I catch my silage. Maybe a praline or chocolate note that isn't listed here. Performance is great, along with projection. Definitely smells better and richer in the air compared to up close. Can't think of a proper occasion or scenario for this fragrance though other than really really liking it. For me, that's good enough.

This fragrance seems to be perceived differently by each user. I totally get no Mercedes Black or Peregrina similatities . To my nose this is predominsntly dry sandalwood. Perfectly unisex, very linear, rather calm, a scent that I would wear to xisit my aunt or grandma.

I don't normally write reviews but after seeing the lack of reviews and overall info on this fragrance, I thought I'd write one To start, like many Paris corner fragrances the presentation is very nice and the quality of everything is also very nice. Heavy cap, nice bottle and the little dangly thing I'm also a big fan of. This fragrance is EXTREMELY peppery. It is almost entirely pepper with a slight bit of rose that mostly comes out in the dry down while the oud is more of an underlying note the entire time. If you're looking for just another rose, oud fragrance, this is not it. It is very niche and only for a select few people so be careful when blind buying. In terms of wearability, this fragrance is what you'd expect out of such a niche smelling perfume. It is wearable but just really hard to. I can't imagine this being a signature or being worn frequently. It's not particularly formal. I imagine it being a more casual wear but it's certainly not a mass appealing casual fragrance. I imagine this being mostly a fall fragrance with maybe some spring wearability. Winter is a possibility but I don't think it would be particularly ideal. This fragrance performs very well getting about 8+ hours on my skin with loud projection. Performance is certainly not an issue with this fragrance. I saw another review mentioning how they feel like if dark purple had a smell, this would be it and I completely agree. This fragrance, oddly smells like I'd imagine dark purple if it had a scent and I think that's a great way to describe it. The same review also mentions how it only really smells good in the air and I also agree with that. Up close its not really that pleasant, in fact I find it very nauseating but in the air, the silliage smells nice.

Not Kliller. Not really Oud. Floral, spicy, and a bit plasticky in the opening, Midnight Ecstasy only hints at oud anywhere in the composition. Incense and sandalwood do most of the heavy lifting, with an able assist from a warm vanilla note similar to PDM Althaïr. Also reminiscent of one of the D&G Velvets, but I can't recall which one. Leans feminine to me, but no matter - it's not one I will reach for.

Nice start, but after 10 minutes it makes me feel like I need a shower.
