Metamorphic

This perfume hasn't been getting the love it deserves here. It's not masculine, to my nose anyway. I enjoy leather and ambery scents, but definitely don't go for anything with an obvious masculine vibe. Metamorphic smells like honeyed malt whisky dusted with saffron (not mentioned in notes) with a smoky backdrop of leather, then, into drydown a sexy honey/salty warm musk appears.There's also a delicious rich rose in this, bringing it all together. For my last birthday my partner booked us into a hotel in the mountains of Scotland. An old manor house with log fires in all the rooms. He asked me to wear this especially as he'd bought it for my birthday after I'd worn a sample, and he loved it. It's sophisticated and sexy, but in an unusual way. It's beautifully balanced and without doubt my favourite from the Kingdom Scotland perfumes. (A close second is the peachy/warm/green Guerlainesque Botanica - a complex floral that's more obviously feminine).. If you enjoy smoky subtly sweet leathers and complex French-style perfume you'll love this. For example I love Bulgari Black, Dzing! and L'Ambre des Merveilles. If you like those you'll probably enjoy this.

Full bodied, spicy opening - absolutely heavenly! Goes into the deeper, rose notes at midway point of wear before drying down into the most intoxicating amber I've experienced to date. I am Scottish, I spend a lot of time outdoors and this is the perfect companion. It's present but never cloying. It does change throughout wear and I find that though I've marked as unisex - it goes in a more feminine direction on my skin. It's confident, it's assured but in the most natural, inner strength kind of way. It captures a moment - the ever present winds which sweep over the Glen's, bringing wafts of moss and Heather from the peaty soil, the satisfaction of putting feet up in front of a cosy wood fire with a nip of the good stuff in hand to wind down and reflect on the perfect journey in God's Country 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Rugged and complex on the outside but softer, loyal and deeply passionate once you take time to fully understand and experience! 100% signature worthy. LOVE this!

Luscious opening of whisky, tobacco and leather, balanced by a malty sweetness. As it dries the whisky note becomes serious - phenolic even. I greatly appreciate Islay whiskies, or JW Green Label for that matter, hence my love of this creative and daring perfume. Teetotalers should steer clear, its whisky galore. My mark is tempered as I'd prefer the rich, and slightly sweet opening notes to have lingered. 4/5

It's too masculine for me. The dominant notes here are tobacco, leather and insence. Nice, very longlasting, unfortunately not for me.
