Caramel Orchid

Hmm...This fragrance is interesting. This is definitely not your typical gourmand. It opens quite sweet and I instantly think of those Valentine’s Day chocolates with filling in the middle but unfortunately that doesn’t last as much as I wish it did. The opening also has a greenness to it that accompanies the cocoa/chocolate note. This is a woody, powdery and chocolate fragrance ( think hot cocoa powder or cake mix) with a green aromatic touch. I’m assuming it’s the davana which is said to be green/ herbal and balsamic. This is not a full gourmand because the bitter green aspect and florals are just as prominent as the gourmand sweet notes. They somewhat clash a little. To me this fragrance doesn’t know what it wants to be. Both of those elements are fighting for center stage. Besides that this fragrance is very warm and sweet. It does settle down pretty quickly and it looses some of the greenness. Your left with a cozy, sweet, woody chocolate accompanied by florals and musk. I don’t get much caramel till after it settles. I like this but it’s just a like. It’s different and not what I expected. Now that I have smelled the fragrance. I can see exactly what the notes are implying. I think the note breakdown describes it very well. This does last on me a while. I can smell it on myself quite well. It’s very musky and close to the body however. It’s on the lighter side and I think it’ll be better for layering. I wish there was more for this. Not bad just okay. The bottles are nice but I wish there was a flower bouquet/stem component on the cap itself. It would feel more special.

Finally!! I got it in the mail today and sprayed it as soon as I opened it (me, frantically opening that box 😆😆)! At first, it smells very sweet and powdery. I smelled no caramel but I definitely smelled the vanilla and the jasmine. It does settle pretty quickly and it smells very flowery/powdery. I really like it but still, no caramel. The dry down is powdery and woodsy with a hint of sugar. To my nose, there is no caramel, no cacao, and very little vanilla. But the flowery aspect is very very nice!! I am not quite sure about the longevity but I suspect it won’t be staying for hours and hours... This may seem like a negative review but I actually really like this fragrance. It is very cozy and powdery in a very pretty way. I will definitely be layering this with other fragrances in my collection such as Kayali Vanilla 28 to amp up the vanilla, or with woodsy fragrances to amp up to woody aspect of this fragrance. I am actually wearing Herod by Parfums de Marly (sprayed it earlier this morning not knowing that Caramel Orchid was coming my way today) and they both go very nicely together. Herod is a sweet tobacco and slightly smoky fragrance and together, they dance in unison. It’s quite wonderful!! All in all, I am quite pleased with this blind purchase, it doesn’t disappoint at all! I think I will be wearing this more during the Spring/Summer/Early Fall rather than the dead of Winter but that’s just me... Well done Kim and Jeff!!

I've been eyeing this fragrance since it first was announced and for some reason never got around to buying it so when I saw people finding this at tj maxx and marshalls I ran to grab it. I truly feel like I've been missing something like this in my collection. Out of every fragrance of hers I've tried. KKW and also her older fragrances, this one tops them all to me. I've never smelled anything like this fragrance. I have Prada candy (top fragrance its being compared to on here) and this smells nothing like that. I love gourmands but sometimes they can be so cloying and suffocating. This one is not. It's a chocolatey, cocoa powder, very slightly salty, powdery scent. I don't think it smells like caramel necessarily, but very much like soft salted yet sweet cocoa powder instead. Alittle milky even. If you like gourmands but find them too overpowering, this one is so perfect! Seriously such a gorgeous soft gourmand and worth picking up.

I’ve seen a lot of people say this smells like a candle but I can’t see where they’re coming from because I don’t get that whatsoever. If there is a candle that smells like this, point me too it because I love this scent. It is very caramel and vanilla heavy, I don’t get any floral notes. The Davana and salt notes blend in together really well and you can smell it more on the dry down but it is faint. This isn't a sugary sweet, it’s more of a “rich” sweet if that makes sense. This is probably the sweetest perfume Kim has put out, it’s really good and it lasted around 6 hours on me.

When I say I love this perfume you have to know that it is an understatement. I would DIE for this perfume, when I came across it I was very sad that it shortly discontinued and have to result to searching online and paying an unbelievable price 🥲🥲 I have been trying many other perfumes (which I love every single one I own) but nothing compares to this. I NEED A DUPE SO BAD
