Crystal Violet Musk

This is yet another fragrance I had the pleasure of trying thanks to Erbium, and I have to say, this is one of the best fragrances Kim has made in a long time. I am a big fan of her Crystal Gardenia + original Kim Kardashian scent (even though I think it's a bit ridiculous that she has made four versions of the same tuberose-gardenia accord with slight variations), but this one is very different than any of her perfumes. I have now tried all of them besides the new Kris x KKW (which is apparently a copy of Kim K original). I do not agree with the comparison to Mon Guerlain. I used to own Mon Guerlain and yes, it's a lavender-vanilla scent, but completely different. Violet Musk is very sweet, girly, calming, and soothing, and even though I feel like I have smelled something similar, I can't wrap my head around it! I would love to own a full bottle, but what I'm sensing from trying the fragrance from the decant is that it does not last at all. It's a gorgeous, gorgeous scent. I really do love it and I think it's her best — and most unique — release in the last while. I do love Diamond Kim and Vibes too, but I absolutely hated the other two diamonds and I find the lips to be extremely generic. I will grab this one if I find it on resale for cheap, since shipping to Canada is more expensive than the scent itself, for some ridiculous reason. If you're a fan of lavender and sweet aromatic scents, give this one a try.

If you love musk, and you also love Mon Guerlain, you should definitely check this out. I bought 3 bottles (they are pretty cheap) off of the KKW website. I was eager to get this based on reviews. It's really a surprise love. The name...it has no violet and no musk...but it DOES give the "impression" of both. I sprayed this about mid-afternoon yesterday and it's still very noticeable on my skin this morning (pre-shower). It's not really too sweet at all, but the lavender/vanilla/tonka/sugar do lend this a soft and delicate tinge of sweet. It's not the same, but is in a similar vein to something like Love's Baby Soft (which I love). I thought about amping up the sweetness by layering on one of my Kyse vanilla scents (maybe Delizia di Marshmallow), but I wanted to just sort of let this one evolve on its own for its first road test. This is a great stay-at-home scent. I own a lot of powerhouse frags that I would just love to put on these days, but I'm pretty much homebound right now and it just doesn't feel right to do that. For everyday I want to put on something comfortable cozy non-aggressive and Crystal Violet Musk fits the bill.

This has to be my favorite KKW fragrance so far. The Lips were a bust and so were the Diamonds but damn did Kim redeem herself with this one! I unfortunately don’t get any “marshmallow“ from this as a few people mentioned. I can definitely sense all the notes listed and they’re blended beautifully. Mostly lavender, Bergamot, sandalwood/tonka upon first spritz and then the creamy peony and vanilla round it out with a touch of jasmine. It’s absolutely GORGEOUS! I can definitely tell I’ll be wearing this a lot throughout the rest of winter & spring. If you’re considering buying this I wouldn’t hesitate because you’ll be paying triple for it on eBay once it’s sold out on Kim’s website! It’s definitely worth the $35! (I just decided to layer this with B&BW’s new Dream in the Sky body mist & lotion and it’s definitely making it sweeter & adding more of the whipped vanilla note to it. Delicious combo if you have that B&BW scent!)

I loved this one! The price gouging is killing me though and I’d really like to get another bottle. If anyone is looking to part with their bottle, please message me! As long as it’s not for an outrageous amount (for what is a $35 frag from a company that is only rebranding and will be back); I’d be willing to pay around $70. I don’t recall getting any lavender or bergamot. Maybe some jasmine and lily of the valley with the peony and the dry down is sugary sweet tonka with jasmine and what I think is peony. Not sure why this called Violet Musk, as there’s no violet and the slight musk there is, is very sweet musk. I personally really liked this one and hope I’m able to get another bottle soon.

This smells like a lavender marshmallow. I’m in love. Even though I had boxes of full size perfumes I needed to get through and vowed off buying perfumes for a while til I used what I had, I couldn’t help but order this because the notes sound simply amazing and unique. The only downside is that it’s weak, so I’ll have to spray more. This is a perfect nighttime, sweet dreams scent. So wholesome. So subtle, yet it’s already earned a status as one of my favorite perfumes of all time. It’s definitely safe for work, or anywhere really. It’s my new favorite from the Crystal line. I actually fought off falling asleep for a few hours so I could continue to smell it, and experience the scent pyramid in full, as I laid in bed the first night I sprayed it on.

interesting! if you want a quick reference point, pretty much any celebrity scent thats had plum, or berries is similar to this. Taylor Swift's first release, Christina Aguilera's "Christina Aguilera", etc etc. a very light resemblance to Mon Guerlain - not at direct sniff, but in passing. very pleasant! very cozy scent, perfect for when youre just relaxing, taking a 'me' day, etc. I wouldn't wear this to impress - rather specifically for myself. reminds me of the holidays for some reason.

The first time I purchased it, I didn’t like it & gave it away. Recently I have been on a lavender kick so I repurchased it again to give it another try. Still same feeling, could do without. I wish they would’ve taken the vanilla & sugar out of it. It’s too sweet, fruity for me. But I have it so might as well enjoy it, but NOT repurchasing again. Projection is moderate, it sits close to the skin & doesn’t last more than a few hours.

i'm aware that not many people are a fan of the kardashians and that's fine. with that being said, my review is based off the perfume itself and not the name. i can definitely smell the lavender and the musk. those stood out to me the most! it's very sweet and sexy. pros: smells great, beautiful packaging, fits into purse! cons: wished it was more long lasting, they need to release a bigger bottle!

This is my favorite every day perfume. On me it is a nice fresh scent but not too fresh that it’s not sexy. I can smell floral, musk, lavender, and vanilla. I agree that it’s a relaxing smell. It’s great for spring and summer but I wear it all year. This is what I was expecting when I tested out cloud and REM but I found cloud to be too sweet and REM was too subtle and less original than this.

Oh kim, thank you! I find this very unique. Also lasts (about 10 hours). I can smell wood notes and maybe vanilla but no sugar at all. I can also smell the tonka beans mostly, mixed in beautifully with the violet. I was pleasantly surprised how nice this smells! Unique to me.

I love it. It lasts and lasts and lasts. When you least expect it, you smell a wonderful enveloping aroma and you don't know it's you, it actually surprises you to realize it's you who smells so good.

This smells exactly like Caress daily silk bar soap, they make a body wash of it too. Smells wonderful!

So I haven’t recieved my bottle yet, will be back later... damn, how did y’all get it so fast? Hmm... I hope and pray it doesn’t smell like KKW Vibes because that smell is absolutely nasty to me. I see someone has said Ariana Grande’s Cloud smells like it. Well Cloud and Vibes don’t smell alike so... We shall see... Edit: finally got it and must agree, it doesnt last. Parfum?! More like eau de toilette! Lasts maybe 1-2 hr sprayed tops. I sprayed it all over before I left for work. I accidentally sprayed myself in the face/eye, be careful! At least the components/sprayer are strong/good quality... I am a disappointed with the siliage and longevity. No compliments, because I don’t think people could smell me. I will try again today. I did smell hints, HINTS throughout my shift and I believe its only because some got onto my work jacket which is that swishywindbreaker fabric. And because it got in my faceeyes. Sprayed on both wrists and it was gone! Very calming, like a spa scent. Probably a good sleep scent. It reminded me of Black Amethyst from bath and body works but not a strong, more watery and some vanilla. It’s good juice, just wish it lasted longer! :’(

not sure why it's called Violet Musk (since it seems there are neither violets nor musk in here!). I love this scent; a very soothing sweet lavender. the lavender & tonka bean are the stars of the show here but they're not too much at all, I think the floral notes in the middle do a lot to mellow them out. there's something very 90s/early 2000s about this that I think is so unique & nostalgic. lasts a long time on me, and projection is there but quiet; instead of a punch in the face it's more like a gentle caress. I love to wear this to relax or when I need to calm my always-running mind. I really wish this wasn't limited edition/discontinued, but I would say B&BW Moonlight Path is a very close match. if you can get your hands on it at a reasonable price, go for it! definitely worth having in a collection.

I’ve had this for about 6 months now and I’ve decided it’s one of my favorites which is surprising bc it’s a KKW fragrance(I have nothing against KKW fragrances, I just didn’t think she’d create one of my fav fragrances lol). This scent is so versatile. I think it could be worn on a day to day basis, I think it’s fresh enough to wear in the spring and summer, but also just creamy enough to wear in the colder months. I really get the lavender and bergamot, subtle florals, a subtle vanilla creaminess, and the musk in the dry down. This gives me the same airy vibe as the Ariana grande fragrances, but more mature with the musk

This is my first KKW perfume. I only got interested in Kim because of her prison reform activism! So I had to check out her latest perfume. I blind bought it because stores are closed due to covid19, took a chance and I’m really happy with it! It’s a really soft vanilla floral with a touch of musk. I really can’t stand lavender but didn’t mind Mon Guerlain. It’s like a lavender marshmallow. The bottle is super gorgeous!! Very happy. I bought Bath and Body Works Dream In The Sky body oil, as it’s also been reviewed as a lavender marshmallow, I’m hoping these two will be lovely paired together. I’ll edit later once I get it!

To me this smells nothing like Moonlight Path which my mom loves and its too heavy for me with all the violet and darker notes. It doesnt give me amethyst vibes, but rather green fizzy. This smells like there is pear or orange blossom in it and its possibly the combination of bergamot and lavender with the peony giving this impression, so its like Sam Edelman's signature scent, not as high pitched and sunny, same salty feeling I get from Armani Turquoise Code. I might be wrong but the lavender comes off aquatic and salty on me here in this at first. I like it though but very repetitive. I thought itd be reminiscent of Libre or Harvest Moon Gaze by VS,(and it does smell close to this by the sprayer) but not as cool toned as these. The bottle is beautiful. Update: after 30-40 mins on the skin when the weird pear-salty vibe tones down abit (still always there tho when I smell my skin close), the lavender is more prominent and it is alot sweeter then, so I have to wait to smell some sugar, quite in the same league as Harvest Moon Gaze, which I prefer as it is cool toned and no weird saltiness. Libre vibe here at this point after like an hour, much softer than Libre. Id stick to Libre. The green kinda plastic salty element gets on my nerves.

I purchased Crystal Violet Musk because I loved the bottle and love fragrances with musk..but was sold by the addition of lavender. For reference, I'm obsessed with the smell of Lush's "Twilight" lavender/vanilla scent and tried but didn't hate Ariana Grande's lavender-ish cloud fragrance. I was hoping Crystal Violet Musk would be sweet but the fragrance is more floral heavy than sweet/vanilla. I don't smell any vanilla at all in this one. Crystal Violet is musk is VERY strong, I only need one or two sprays since it's so overpowering. When I use it, I only spray it on my clothing and once it dries down it's a decent but intense lavender scent. When I spray this directly on my skin, it's horrible and smells synthetic. The only times I reach for this are at bedtime and I usually spray my pjs. It's ok - wouldn't repurchase, or recommend.

I feel that this is a very basic perfume. As another reviewer stated, the musk hardly comes through at all. It's a lovely floral perfume, and purple is a very fitting color for the juice. If the color lavender was a perfume, it would be this one. I'm not sure how to describe that. It's not my favorite in my collection but it's definitely something I will reach for, and the bottle fits sooo perfectly in purses and totes. I bring Crystal Gardenia with me all the time. This perfume is not something I reach for often because of the familiarity of it and the fact that I was really excited for the musk, which doesn't come through at all. EDITED TO ADD: I ended up selling this fragrance.

when I first smelt this, I immediately thought "ive smelt this before." to my nose, this doesn't smell like a lavender/ vanilla fragrance. I don't smell traditional lavender. The lavender in this fragrance is a more cosmetic, sweet form of lavender. ** It smells ALOT like Moonlight Path by Bath & Body Works and they have a lot of notes in common. I wasn't expecting this to smell the way it does, although I will say- I wasn't disappointed whatsoever. It smells beautiful, universally appealing and a generally attractive smell. I will say- im not sure why KK names her fragrances the way she does. there is no violet and no musk in this fragrance. The notes of this fragrance are super blended, which is different for KK. Usually KK's fragrances have star notes or solifloral notes that take over the fragrance (crystal gardenia with the pear note, nude lips with the amber note, red lips with the gardenia note, body ii with the coconut note...list goes on and on) so the fact that this fragrance doesn't have a star note is different for KK. I think people will enjoy this. Overall, its a common fragrance that you've definitely smelt before but it smells great and would make for a solid gift for a loved one. It also comes with beautiful crystals that enhance intuition and passion, which was a lovely touch.

To me this smells like if Mon Guerlain, and Cloud by Ariana Grande had a baby. I like this perfume, but I am still not sure about it. I don't like the bergamot in this perfume, it comes off too sharp. The reason I don't like Cloud is because the coconut didn't mix well with the other notes, and this is how I feel with bergamot being added with these notes. To me it starts off sharp with the bergamot, then dries down into a more powdery like scent due to the vanilla, peony, and lily of the valley. I like the dry down the most, the lavender is there, but I thought it was going to be stronger. The dry down is soft, and I like it. I am hoping that Crystal Pear, and Peony will come back, as well as Crystal Gardenia Citrus, nothing can top that one. I don't know why she doesn't restock that often. I believe the last time there was a restock was in Spring or Summer of 2019. I also wish that she would sell her 75ml bottles again. I like how often she releases perfumes, Kim has taken over the celebrity perfumes, and I am glad she did. Also the prices are always decent. I would like to see more carried in Ulta, most of her fragrances do get to Ulta, but there are some that haven't, and if they have they don't get restocked once they are gone, and I don't like that.

This is the first fragrance in the "Crystal" line to disappoint me. Its sooooo weak I can barely smell it right after I spray it. 10 minutes later its gone. I will definitely not be buying any more of this perfume. Like others have saud there is no violet in the composition, so the name is misleading, its a lavendar scent more than anything. It wouldn't be a bad scent if only it were actually strong enough to smell. Has Kim KW gone so minimilistic that she took the scent out of her fragrances? At Kanye's suggestion of course.....

I love this fragrance!! I purchased it because it had lots of notes I like the most. This opening of this smells like it could be a Chanel fragrance, but after a few seconds it reminds me a lot of YSL’s Libre. It’s probably the lavender, but it doesn’t have the citrus sharpness of Libre. Crystal Violet Musk on my skin is strong with the lavender and florals. It’s dries down to a nice floral musk (with a subtle sweetness). I’m more into fresh/powdery/woody/skin scents, but would definitely consider a great everyday scent.

Nice spring fragrance. Sweet lavendar. Its more of a close to skin scent. Perfect for a date night perfume. I found it lasts along time on my clothes. Reading all of these reviews I decided to give it a shot and layer this with bath n body works Dream in the sky lotion and spray, just like mgrady67 said on here, and omg it really smells amazing! Makes this perfume smells more creamy and sexy. I did like this perfume itself but I knew something was missing and Dream in the sky goes with this beautifully.

I adore this. I wear this fragrance when I want to feel centered and relaxed, especially when I need to get a good night's sleep. The sugared lavender keeps the scent light and like a kiss on my skin, as opposed to heavy and cologne-y. I think this is one of KKW's best offerings, and the gorgeous bottle and pale purple liquid capture the essence of the fragrance. I will say that the name is misleading. Why not name it Crystal Lavender Musk instead? There is no violet note at all.

I also get no vanilla, no creamy notes, just a lavender-floral shampoo type of scent. I decided to try four of these (vanilla, violet musk, pear and peony and citrus). I am a vanilla person, Hypnotic Poison is my fave, and strangely enough I only like the citrus one. It seems to be the best quality and actually has lasting power. It smells sweet and fresh, the other three smell very soapy on me. If anyone wants the other three, let me know!

This has great reviews but is not what the reviews reflect! its a cheap smelling fragrance and my least favorite of all the crystal and diamond collection.. I like the others because they're pretty flora's like kai kai.. so I want to give a heads up, that yes it has a hint of sweet violet but is nothing like Mon guerlain.. Im looking to swap mine if anyone is interested..

A nice smell, but nothing quite fantastic about it. Perfect for everyday wear it's not too sweet or in your face, it's very light and fresh. Parts of it remind me of Good Girl Legere which I love. I definitely want to try the other KKW fragrances

Beautiful and calming fragrance! The perfume lasts on my clothes through the next day. Perfect every day fragrance, is very light and stunning. Smells great mixed with Mon Guerlain for even more lavender.

One of my favorites! I'm a sucker for lavender.. it's so fresh. And it LASTS!! It smells like summer.. is it generic and kinda basic? Sure but I can be too sometimes and I like it 😜

I love this. It's a really beautiful sweet lavender vanilla. It's a bit soapy smelling imo but, it's definitely my favorite of the crystal gardenias.
