Night Iris

KKW Fragrance is always bringing something new to the table. So when i seen these gorgeous bottles, i had to get the entire collection. But i want to focus on my favorite from this line, Night Iris. For those who've followed me for a while, know that Iris/Orris root is my all time favorite floral note. So there was no doubt that this was going to be a love for me. Upon first spray, i get a powdery Iris blended with Wild Berries and Dahlia. It's so addicting. I couldn't stop smelling my wrist. About 20 mintues in, Night Iris starts to warm up a little and through the mildly sweet Wild Berries, there's a hint of Tobacco Leaf. As this dries down, i get more of the Sandalwood, but the Iris remains prominent through the entire experience. Night Iris is so seductive. It doesn't possess any feminine or masculine traits. Men and women could pull this off. The projection on this was pretty impressive. Night Iris radiates about 3-4 feet in the first 3 hours of wear and gives a total of 5 hours of performance. I am so in love with this fragrance, i purchased 2 more bottles. KKW Yellow Diamond is the one that got away(TWICE) before i could buy another bottle and i refuse to let Night Iris be another lol. If you were to try at least one fragrance from this collection, i would highly suggest Night Iris. Scent: 10/10 Packaging: 9/10 Performance: 7/10

Impressive....at first sniff. Surprised, to say the least. Fruity/iris opening. Then I started to sense the woodsy/berries/patch....the tobacco-ish vibe is sitting way under..IMO. I don't sense the black pepper. Sandalwood-ish/benzoin note appears mid-way thru. The "berry" top stays thru the wearing...on my skin. Very different scent from KKW's usual stuff. Unisex...???.....I guess...but goes to the feminine side IMO. Performance seems mid-range...so far. The dry down leans nostalgic.....( but still with that berry vibe). Bravo ! on the bottle and packaging.

For this to be so cheap, it last for DAYSSS. Never seems to fade, especially on clothes. This will never be made again, since KKW is changing. You are lucky if you were able to buy this fragrance.

I just received this in the mail so this is my first impression. This one is definitely unisex, but more masculine. It gives me Tom Ford black orchid vibes but not exactly similar. Does not smell like Lancôme la vie est belle or Flowerbomb at all. I get the tobacco leaf, sandalwood, patchouli & iris, giving me dark, sexy vibes. Nothing floral about this. When I saw the advertising for this collection, I expected to smell a floral garden but no (which sucks for me because I love floral scents). Kim’s other fragrances smell more floral than these. This perfume is not something I gravitate to, but it’s alright to have because it’s different, definitely nice for the night. This is an ok for me, not love, but not hate. Projection is weak, it’s definitely a close to skin scent, but I only sprayed the back of my hand, I haven’t doused myself in it, I have to literally sniff my hand to detect it. Still testing longevity. Who knows maybe it’ll grow on me someday.

This was my favorite perfume from the Jeff Leatham collection. The Tuberose one is also good but I already have a couple of similar fragrances. This one was the most original composition to my nose. The notes that stand out to me are the Iris and berries

Smells like a fruity candle. Pleasant but not something you would want to smell like.

Okay so first off the packaging is top notch, the dark purple flowers inside are so tasteful, but the bottle is super tiny. 1oz is nothing ugh. Anyway. The sprayer itself smells similar to James Bond 007 (its the bergamot-pepper) and alot like Sofia's Love minus the coffee spiciness. This kicks it straight to love status for me as James Bond 007 is one of the perfumes I'd take to the grave with me LOL I love it that much! Bergamot, black pepper and let's say berries, but Night Iris is not as cold as James Bond 007. Love is equally special to me. Iris is part of Midnight Fantasy too so I must have been in love with Iris all along! The benzoin and tobacco leaf are intense in the opening, it almost feels like the scent of my tobacco Corral boots! I own about 40 Corral but only 3 made of Tobacco and I love that scent. I get something soft, thick, as smooth as genuine leather from the tobacco leaf and slightly ambery/balsamic almost rubbery from the benzoin. The result is smoky, like incense. Night Iris is not lactonic to my nose. Love is warmer, kinda lactonic too with the praline and white flower notes. The lack of white flowers here makes it darker and calming. At the opening there is also some cool-toned spice (black pepper) maintained throughout by the patchouli, and I detect a Barbie doll-like addicting "plastic" sweetness similar to that of Sofia's Love, colder less ambery, which intensifies as time passes and becomes the essence of this perfume, the Iris. Sofia's Love smells to me like Barbie dolls in its core, (aside from all the BO coffee-orange blossom vibe) even more than La Vie Est Belle which also has iris (Love has passionfruit-orchid). This intense powdery Barbie doll sweetness makes Love a unique perfume to me because it lacks the spiciness (patchouli) and tart elements of LVEB (black currant,pear) while being dark, just like Night Iris! Sensual Amber/LVEB are not dark, both sweeter and more tart, while Night Iris is "colder", compared side by side on the skin. This sweet powdery element here is soft and seems to stem from the blend of wild berries, bergamot and Iris which is the star of the show, along with the benzoin, which gives this thick resin, almost syrupy fruitiness - benzoin is my favorite base note. Once it settles and dries, the tobacco leaf and benzoin maintain that smooth, dark, smokey, kinda rubbery effect that accompanies the powedry Iris. There is a slight tartness in the projection, but it is creamy. Id have loved the tobacco as a base note. As time passes the scent gets sweeter. I think it is unique in its league, it lacks the praline/rose of the other perfumes and has no amber/amberwood so it is colder, deeper, mysterious and not cloying. Patchouli and sandalwood become more prominent way later, they are very subtle which is a plus! No pencil shavings scent here, no overwhelming patch spiciness as opposed to other iris perfumes (LVEB), just a subtle peppery accord throughout. The last stage of the perfume on my skin is that soft Barbie doll sweetness of the iris, with the incense-vibe of the benzoin. I expected something masculine and heavy, but this is feminine yet dark, a less ambery/coffee free Sofia Love (I am allergic to caffeine, coffee note is not my thing). If there was cyclamen or jasmine here, we would have a masculine vibe here, like in Rogue/Sweet Girl Police. Update: It lasted about 6 hrs on me. Its drydown is very powdery, not overly sweet, not too warm. I also noticed some common notes as I smelled Sensual Amber by BBW - that powdery Barbie doll sweetness: Iris, Forest fruits and Bergamot the common notes. Sensual Amber smells alot like LVEB, both more tart. These 3 are all warmer-spicier and lack any dark, colder tones, but Night Iris, as its name denotes, is cooling like a night blooming flower. Perfectly matches its cold bottle, its color and my taste! Being pasty white with dry skin I am attracted to sweet but cool-toned perfumes. This is a new favorite, reserved for a night out or a date.

Very nice night time scent. Jeff said one of his favorite fragrances is flowerbomb and this definitely reminds me of it in a way. Definitely unisex though and has a smoky leathery quality to it which I believe is from the tobacco. My favorites are this and Jasmine Air.

My favorite from the KKW Fragrance X Jeff Leatham Collection 1. This scent is dark, mysterious, and sexy. It's a beautiful blend of dark florals and woods and smoke. Masterfully blended.
