Rare Fig

Okay so I wore this more and got a totally different impression. First try I got lots of that orange so it gave me Sam Edelman Signature vibes, and both are quite green perfumes so they are close, but this is much colder and less sweet/sunny. ALSO it is not manly on me AT ALL, thats for sure. I love neutral, calming, green, herbal scents that are unusual and Im not disappointed by this at all. In fact this is my favorite from the trio. I needed it to be bolder and more intense though. Projection is not bad but it is too discreet. It really reminds me of Electric Agent Provocateur and without checking Electric's notes, I think they are similar from start to finish. Turns out Electric also has fig-lemon, but also fig tree so it's much bitter than this and alot more sour and feminine. The opening of Rare Fig is also very sour and a tad bitter and green, like fig usually is without the vanilla, musk, amber or cashmere/tonka of sweeter fig perfumes or those that give a green fig-like impression (Tease Heartbreaker VS, Indi Katy Perry). The first 3-5 mins it also smells poisonous on my skin, I do like that and that's why it reminds me of Acqua di Parisis Milano which is green, bitter and so cold. Rare Fig becomes more creamy after one hour on my skin, but it dies after 3 hours. If you need a more girly fig perfume this is not for you, since it is neutral and more serious, I dont find it manly at all though. It is aromatic and calming. I grew up around fig trees in Greece and I love anything fig, from its bitter green stage to the ripe milky phase and then spoon sweet fig that we make. This is the green unripe form. Rare Fig feels cold and stays slightly bitter-green and I love the woody background even tho I needed more of that. To me it's in the same league as Something Blue by Oscar, Electric AP and Acqua di Parisis Milano Reyane, all of them being green, either sour, a tad bitter or both. The lemon is only intense at first. Electric stays sour and happy, while this becomes smoother, but retains its subtle bitter-sour character. Cyclamen and plum both are sharp notes (Rihanna's medicinal Rogue has both) but cyclamen here is subtle. Cedar and cyclamen pair well with the fig in perfumes and with musk and tonka sometimes they give a fig impression like in Indi of Katy Perry. So I am not surprised that they added cyclamen and cedar here. What I dont love about this is that the first 10-15 mins there is a dusty scent as if I got an old stale perfume, maybe it's the geranium/vetiver combo doing that. I love vetiver though. I think some musk would make this even nicer, but I do appreciate it as it is, quite dry, green and earthy. I wore it on a warm, cloudy rainy day today and it smelled wonderful, blended with the smell of the wet earth. I like it more than Electric which is too sour and summery. Rare Fig can be worn all-year-round. Smells great in cold or warmer weather and in the summer it will be refreshing as if youre under the shade of a fig tree. I still give it 9/10.

Soft and sexy, blood orange / mandarin potpourri! First spray : aromatic, soft spicy, woody. Then the citrus notes very quickly reveal themselves. Was curious to see if any fig appeared in the drydwon - 10 minutes into it and nada! I never really picked up on any fig. So soothing and comforting to my nose! It's a lightly spiced (maybe chai?) hot tea with hints of citrus. Perfectly unisex, cozy, and sexy AF! Sadly, the longevity isn't great, you definitely have to overspray with this one. After spraying myself heavily my mom commented on how nice I smell, with me standing about 6 feet away. Projection: 6/10 - moderate when oversprayed Longevity: 4/10 :( Even with it lacking in the longevity department, I really love it as someone who's into aromatic / unisex leaning scents! Not worth paying up for but if you find it at a discount store, absolutely pick it up! The memory: Reminds me of the inside of my friend's house from middle school- their family was Hindu and I'm sure they had some lovely potpourri somewhere - her home always smelled amazing! Buttery soft clean leather sofa, potpourri, the faint smell of spices and herbs wafting in the kitchen.

I don’t know if I like this enough to keep it. The main note I get is vetiver & it’s the most prominent here. This smells almost identical to Tory Burch Knock on Wood which I use to own but hated & got rid of. It’s not my type of scent. I can see this being unisex but I don’t like the scent & wouldn’t want my man wearing it. This one is a pass for me. I liked all 3 of the first Jeff Leathem collection better. Edit: 3/9 I absolutely love it now! I’m ordering a backup!

At first spray, I thought it was rather bitter but as time has gone by I have become fond of this fragrance.It has grown on me nicely, smells quite similar to her other Gardenia based perfumes but a little more musky and slightly masculine in a good way.A joy to wear, love it 💖✌️💕

Smells really good. It's a combo of creamy, heady, florals and juicy citrus. However, despite loving the smell, it's a little overpowering and verges of cloying. I had to update this review because unfortunately this one gives me a headache and that's really rare for me

Simply the best of the new 3. Fresh. Citrus. Cedar. Fig with blood orange. Warmth. Depth. Just. Fantastic. Clean and crisp. Smells high end. Not $40 like $450. Honest. Beautiful beautiful. The best.

This is such a complex fragrance. In the opening, i got a strong blend of Fig and Blood Orange, accompanied by something earthy and mildly sweet. Within minutes, the Vetiver blossoms as the Blood Orange subsidies and accompanies the Fig. Initially, I didn't know how to feel about this fragrance. I wasn't pleased, but I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't quite ready to root for Rare Fig yet, but I was intrigued enough to hear what it had to say. About 35 minutes into wear, the Cedar aides in bringing a soothing woodiness to this scent. Someone said this smells like a unisex fragrance Calvin Klein would make, and I totally understand why. While, this suites men & women, this is definitely for the grown & sophisticated only. Rare Fig is a statement piece/accessory that demands the attention of anyone in its presence. It's not unpleasantly bold, but striking enough to leave an impression those you encounter. Rare Fig lasted about 3 and a half hours on my skin with a strong sillage in the first hour or so of wear. In conclusion, I must say I'm impressed with this fragrance. While I'm still unsure if this is a KKW favorite of mine and if I should buy a back up or not, this is definitely something I will reach for again to develop a relationship with. Fresh, bitter and herbal fig with a '90s woody aquatic feel. I know there's no aquatic notes listed in this, but it has a light and airy feel to it that reminds me a lot of lotus. As it dries down, that bitter, unripe fig begins to ripen, and it changes from its more woody and vegetal opening to a fig that's both much juicier and more powdery. I went from being someone who couldn't have less of an interest in anything Kardashian to owning quite a few Skims pieces in my closet and having two of her fragrances on my shelf. I'm into the minimal, neutral aesthetic and the sensual feel, and as a florist myself who grew up in my mom's flower shop, I couldn't resist a flacon that doubles as a bud vase! (Well, sort of, the opening is very shallow) This is my favorite KKW Fragrance of the six I've tried! You could almost fool me into thinking this is a Hermes (this gives Un Jardin Sur Le Nil vibes) or Diptyque (comparable to Philosykos but not a dupe) offering. Smells significantly more expensive than what I paid for it. Glad I picked it up on clearance for only $24, as not just the presentation, but the scent itself gives off the feeling of so much more. Genuinely really impressed.

I found this and other Jeff Leatham x KKW fragrances at Winners (Marshall's) for $35 CDN, which is probably the most I'd pay for this, esp since they are only 30mL. This had originally piqued my interest a few months back because I was looking for a figgy fragrance, but I wasn't willing to pay $70 most sites were charging. The beginning was lovely, nice ripe fig and citrus. It's not a sharp green note like grass, but green and fresh, leaning aquatic. The dry down remains an aquatic green with a sweet woody skin scent. I can see how others say it leans masculine as it has a slight old school barbershop feel to it. This kind of feels like 90's CK fragrances where women would wear the men's version and pulling it off, rather than a truly unisex scent. Definitely will re-try in the hotter months to see how much of a difference it will make. I have to admit, I do really love the aesthetic of the bottle, and the fact that it doubles as a vase is a pretty cute idea.

I'll just say, the presentation with this perfume is just marvelous. The box and the bottle are both very classy. As for the scent, it has a very artificial loud opening of citrus which is unattractive in any perfume. It settles down into a woody/vetiver heavy perfume with some kind of honey-ed sweetness which almost has a sour note to it. I am impressed with the creativity and execution. While it's not so impressive it flattens me, it did only cost me $30. This is a unique celeb offering with a really surprisingly attractive bottle. In regards to Battetflowers note that it reminds them of Knock on Wood, I can kind of see a similarity. It perhaps utilizes the same type of vetiver or vetiver accord. But this is different. Knock on Wood is warm and dry, this is much more sweet. Leans masculine. 7/10

Surprised that I liked this! The only other KKW fragrance I've tried is Caramel Orchid, which I thought was too teen-y and play doh like. This is much more mature while still being fresh and a little sweet. Like some other reviews have mentioned, I don't get much fig. I don't smell much fig at all, actually -- not the fruit nor the tree. There's a vague greenness complemented by a soft citrus and some salt. There's creaminess underneath as well. I think this is quite unique for a fragrance, but very generic for a candle or room spray. This is a great spring scent that doesn't remind me of rain. Not too sweet and not floral. I would only wear this when I'm already in a good mood, I don't think it's something that would uplift me on a rainy day.

Opens sharp, green fig; reminiscent of biting into underripe fruit with arm's length projection. Five minutes in it's a nice lemon and mixed citrus. Half an hour in it's an almost buttery wood, very comfortable. An hour in it's an earthy skin scent. It's not to my taste but I've got to be honest. It's well made and you get a better scent journey out of this one than out of many scents four times its price. It doesn't last or heavily project and it's not sweet or floral, so I don't expect it to take 2022 by storm, but you can wear this one at any age in any setting and it's not season limited. It's a little black dress perfume and presents up or down depending on the rest of your outfit.

perfect scent for spring and fall. it's green, citrusy and big on the fig. idk there's something 90s about this fragrance that i love. you don't need to spray too much! lasts about a good 4 hours on me and the silage is great too! ughhh and can we please talk about this bottle? probably my favorite design from the KKW fragrance brand. glad i got this at a good price!

Bought this in hopes to find a spring scent and looks like I have found the perfect one! However, I do think it is more on the feminine side of the 'unisex' spectrum - and I am someone who prefers masculine scents on myself. Still, it is a great fragrance and may have the best packaging for a fragrance I have ever seen.

summery with a little lemon, lots of fig leaf, primarily green, aquatic, a little vanilla, some cyclamen; not a juice ripe fig and not fruity at all; pretty but fades very fast

I am not sure about this one. I don't smell much fig in it, although the name suggests otherwise. It's definitely not a linear fragrance, it has a sharp opening and it takes time for the scent to settle down. It does turn woody with time, and it's a very green fragrance. There is absolutely nothing sweet about it, not even a hint which is surprising since fig note is known to have sweetness about it. It a 100% unisex scent, so I can see both men and women wearing it. The longevity is good, I can still smell it after 7 hours of wearing with just a few spays applied to the pulse points in the morning. Projection is ok, it's not going to leave a trail, unless one really overspray it. Since I am not a fan of this fragrance, glad I bought it on sale with 40% off, otherwise I would have been disappointed. I personally liked Caramel Orchid a lot better from Jeff Leatham II collection than Rare Fig.

This is all about the dry down. Just not sure about it yet. The beginning is rough. Starts out citrus, then has a weird, off stale sour phase (yuck) but then once you get past that it’s good. I enjoy the middle notes. I like seeing where it goes after that. In general I appreciate the green elements. I think this can be worn year round, but probably works best in spring, summer, fall. Solidly unisex. Good for all genders in my opinion. ...Very uncertain at this time if I would purchase a 2nd bottle. Not mad at the first one, just very unclear if I would want a 2nd.

I have tested this twice on a recent journey to find the perfect fig frag. In the opening it's more juicy with a slight citrus hint but it doesn't really last & it ends up being more dry and woody and doesn't change much after that. It didn't particularly strike me as a 'true fig' fragrance. After reading the description I see the note is actually listed as 'dry fig' which makes more sense. Projection is moderate and performance is moderate/weak to me. The bottles in this collection are very odd to me and resemble urns.

Very unisex. I would love smelling this on my boyfriend but it’s too masculine for me. Hoping I can find someone willing to trade this one for their Caramel Orchid! I liked that one much better, as a female. Rare Fig would be a good Valentine gift for your male significant other because the packaging is gorgeous with its romantic vibe and it’s a pretty sweet scent for being more manly.

Very underwhelmed after having high hopes for this. Fig is one of my favorite notes, and it's a bummer when it's included in a perfume's title, but is just a barely-there afterthought. This had a very basic, generic perfume smell, maybe a bit soapy, nothing memorable or interesting about it to my nose. Regretted buying it, but was fine enough to use up as a bathroom air freshener.

Celery- I don't see this note listed here, but I get a lot of celery. Nondescript florals, as well. It's extremely unique but not quite to my taste. The bottle is fun and different- makes for a nice table piece.

This is a very unisex perfume, which I usually like, but I'm not sure about this one. I honestly don't get any of the fig, mainly all I can smell is a very manly celery.

I've been on the hunt for a dark jammy fig, so I blind-bought this from Marshalls for $25. All I knew was that this collection was supposed to be nice and it had fig in the name so it had to be fig-forward, right? Wrong. It should be called "No Fig." I get some lemon in the opening and then green and vetiver. I could see an argument for fig leaf or wood, neither of which are like the ripe fig scent I am searching for. But mostly, it smells like celery and tea type of green. Chamomile tea tastes like celery to me, so I want to say there's a chamomile note, but maybe it's the geranium. There's a warmth in humidity in the scent to me. Like a sweltering summer day, not the warmth of a warm cozy home during winter or a bright comfortable warmth of a sunbeam in spring. I'm not a fan, but at least the bottle is interesting looking.

If you're curious to know what this smells like without blind buying and breaking the bank in the process, it smells like dry twigs and tree bark. You get the sensation of breaking a twig in half and smelling the dry essence.

Feels to me like an unripe orange. I’ve never smelt a Fig before this though so idk.

i hate this fragrance, it’s disgusting. i seen it at winners for $40 and thought hey why not it’s Kim kardashian i love her so why not, this was my first interaction with any fig sort of scent and my last. it’s unpleasant and disgusting. it lingers for soo long and has a terrible dry down. super synthetic and smells like fig and celery.

I would highly encourage anyone thinking of buying this to read the reviews first. I read the reviews on this fragrance because a deal came up that was too good to resist. I am no stranger to fig, fig leaf, and vegetal scents. So when I saw the word "celery" pop up I knew what I was getting myself into. This fragrance is not a dreamy, subtle fig. I think the most popular version of fig is where it mellows a scent into a creamier jammy fig blend. This is NOT that. This would be better represented with more fig leaf than fig fruit. The two key openers for this fragrance are (in my opinion) fig leaf, green notes, the vetiver and cedar. It is very much unisex still as the citrus does come through and act as a gender neutral buffer. As I said, I am no stranger to sensual vegetal scents as I am a fan of Aura EDT by Mugler. I personally found this scent pretty complex and was surprised at its performance. I actually liked it. I could see wearing it out to an evening garden party, evening concerts in the park, or an outside date in general. I think Kim Kardashian may in fact be a fragrance junkie just like us because this was really quite something for a "celebrity" scent.

First spray is a time warp CK1 lemon assault then it morphs into something that is anything but fig. Green, yes, but it’s a dried, vegetal green. It’s been harvested and dried, ignored and then desperately revived with lingering citrus. To me it smells like old straw hats that have been bleached by the sun through a dusty, attic window. There’s something here that reminds me a bit of the chamomile notes in Gucci Memoire d’une Odeur but it’s as if it’s been remixed by a 90s mall time traveler.

Quite like this. Fig is very prominent so it has a slight resemblance to Philosykos by Diptique (very slightly). It's a very androgynous scent. Doesn't lean masculine or feminine - truly unisex. Lasts better than the other scents in the collection.

I don’t mind unisex scents however this one leans a little too masculine for me. This is strong in tea/herbal and woodsy. Overall it is a very nice scent and well blended. I don’t dislike it, it’s just not for me. I may need to sit with it longer.

I get a very strong green tea note.. it’s basically all I smell. I think this is a very natural fragrance perfect for hiking or spending time outdoors if you’re looking to enhance an outdoorsy experience.

I want to love this. I do pick up the fig and it is a very pretty fig but for me, this unfortunately does have a strong celery type of smell on my skin that just will not go away. :(
