Gala A L'Opera

I fell in love with this perfume! It had been sitting on my shelf for a long time, and I never really paid attention to it. But one day, I decided to try it, and I was absolutely shocked by how delicious and captivating it is. It’s simply irresistible - gourmet, sweet, and as a man, I’ve received compliments saying this perfume smells really nice and suits me well. It leaves a trail reminiscent of Killian Angel's Share, at least that's how it felt to me. It’s a shame this fragrance was discontinued because, in my opinion, the other offerings from this brand are complete crap!

When this first arrived I thought to myself, this is too much of a hodgepodge perfume. There's too much going on with no truly discernible notes - it really just smells like...perfume, and not in a good way. Just an overly perfumey concoction. And now I'm revisiting it nearly a year later, just sprayed out of curiosity, and it has blossomed into something rather beautiful! To be fair, I'm sure not many people would enjoy letting a perfume age for a year just for it to be "nice" but I'm pleasantly surprised because it was just catching dust in my wardrobe and now I can finally give it a true shot. One spray is plenty, it's quite strong. The notes my nose pulls most on paper is the pepper, the creamy white chocolate and warm benzoin, vanilla and soft florals in the veeery background. It still to me, has that sense of "too perfumey" but if you find this for a good price, which if I recall you will because this is a cheapie, you should pick it up.

I like the fragrance, it's gorgeous, a cashmere, white chocolate (I can smell that white chocolate), balsamic vanilla-y and just a little floral: very pretty and just slightly sweet. I would love it if had better projection and that projection lasted longer. At the beginning you get a lot of pepper, but that goes away quickly and this lovely well blended fragrance shines thru. It doesn't project much, about elbow length at the beginning, and it may have been about an hour when it began to quickly lose the projection, the dry down ends up been a skin scent. The skin scent on me lasted about 5 hrs slowly ending in just a slight whisper. I'll try spraying my clothing and hair when I wear it again and hope it projects better this way as I would hate to carry this large bottle in my bag- and a beautiful bottle it is, the cap and sides are plastic but still very pretty. It doesn't remind me of LVEB at all. Gorgeous if you like skin scents.

I love the way the bright amber cuts through the creamy white chocolate notes. It's long lasting and projects very well without becoming too much. Gala A L'Opera is a sophisticated blend that smells more expensive than it actually is. If you're into layering fragrances I think this is a great foundation to start from. The benzoin and ambroxan in this one will help make your favorite berry scented body sprays last and last! 🍓
