In Love

I tested this among other Korloff frangrances last night as they were all on deep discount for White Friday... At first, it didn't grab my attention much as the other two "Un soir a Paris" and "Take me to the moon", though it was the heavier. I didn't detect any oud for the first half an hour, it developed on my skin morelike a heavy floral oriental and then it started to show slowly accompanied by a very dominant note that I would've sworn it's saffron. Could it be the papyrus? In love is not the typical arabic oud fragrance you get from Arabian houses, it has that occidental touch and it's very agreable though I'm not really fond of oud as a note. Very decent staying power and sillage compared to today's standards.

I have a cold so I can't really tell you how it developed on me during the day. However, the bottle leaked in transport so it smelled out of the box. I can compare it to Tom Ford White Patchouli, my DH does not agree. This morning a colleague stopped my my office and asked me what's the smell, "Camphore?". Go figure. Foir now all I can tell that it is strong and now whatever comes through my stuffed nose is like stems of the roses, like a very green rose. I sprayed three sprays at 7:30 a.m. and now at 2:30 p.m. something still is evident even through my stuffed nose. Not bad. Will probably update when I am at my full capacity.

A truly feminine oud-rose perfume! This one clearly has the feminine touch. I estimate that coming from a well-blended, very jammy-sweet background of coumarin-vanilla, patchouli, and ylang-ylang. Anyhow, this remains oriental, serious, and smoky. It's formal and better for special occasions. It would be a great choice for women tolerating a vintage touch in their perfumes. The longevity and sillage are both perfect. Well-done.

Well, this is not what I was expecting it to be but I still like it. I was expecting a darker Rose but to my nose this is a jammy one, the mix with Ylang Ylang (maybe Tonka as well) sweetens it, very slightly peppery. After a couple of hours the Patchouli shines, a nice minty kind that balances the sweetness. I don't get much Oud and I wouldn't call it strong. Overall it's nice with medium longevity.

At first sniff it's too rosy and oudy, but later it calms down to become a powdery scent. I feel the rose and some woody ingredient too heavy though, so will not be my favorite one. Very characteristic.
