I had the original Hypnotic Poison as my only evening scent for 20 years, so you can understand my skepticism when I read the reviews for this fragrance as well, regarding the similarity to Hypnotic Poison. And it is not the fault of the perfume users. The current Hypnotic Poison is so far from the original that I no longer recognize it. If I had to do a blind test, I would bet that this is Dior's modern version of HP. Yes, here is that sugar sweet, like Cloud(no minty) structure and this is not beast mode like that first HP, but the smell itself is same. Creamy lily-of-the-valley and almost sour cherry-like fruitiness. There is no burnt rubber-smelling almond, no waxy children's playdough, no "root beer" (whatever it is) and above all, no that unnatural irritating licorice...This stays in my closet.

So lovely! This is somewhere between Hypnotic Poison and BR540. It has a solar effervescence at the top leads into a gorgeous and well-balanced sweet, creamy, & woody vanilla/oakmoss/white floral profile. You can definitely feel the BR540 effect during the drydown, very tastefully done. Perfect for cool/cold weather, I think you can even pull this off in those particularly cool spring mornings. Wonderful addition.

I absolutely LOVE this. Oh my gosh. It does smell like a 50/50 mix of hypnotic poison and baccarat. I actually was thinking of buying HP to have it in my collection again but this scratches that itch. This lasts ALL DAY on me with moderate sillage. Love catching whiffs of this one. The review below mine explains it all. I will be buying multiple bottles.

Love love loveee this scent. A gourmand type of fragrance that is not being overly used (I smell la vie est belle, and other popular perfumes all the time and was looking for a signature scent) and this one is the one I have been looking all my life. Scent is like a creamy vanilla ice cream, sweet but not overpowering.

It's a beautiful perfume. It is getting harder to find unfortunately. I need a back-up for sure.

at first i thought it was a cherry vanilla scent but i realized the smell was actually the flower notes mentioned above. literally smell like a human bouquet of flowers that have been dipped in milky vanilla for a second and the milky vanilla dried onto the dried flower petals. absolutely love this! <3 if you’re someone who likes vanilla but doesn’t want to smell like that all the time and looking for a change, this is a great perfume.

It's a very beautiful scent! Smells like Hypnotic Poison in a good way. It's sweety, but not sweet. Not simple, sophisticated. I can smell milk mousse and vanilla. Also I can smell raspberry, though it is not listed here. Longevity and sillage is very good. I can smell it all day long. It's worthy fragrance and happy blind bought for me.

Sweet, creamy, powdery, mossy in the background with a marshmallow base. Similar to BR540 type of fragrances with creaminess from Hypnotic Poison, without play doh note. Projection and sillage average, can be overwhelming when used daily, it is more like a yummy treat when we crave sweetness.

At first it reminded me of something familiar. Maybe Rolling in Love or Scarlett Poppy. But the drydown became more similar to BR540. Really pleasant fragrance, sweet, creamy, feminine for a reasonable price.

To me this is very similar to Dior Hypnotic Poison, but personally I like it better. I think it's sweeter and more carbonated than HP, which always reminded me of flat root beer. (I had a bottle of HP from around 2006, and I haven't tried it since then, so that's what I'm comparing this to). When first sprayed, it reminds me of Baccarat Rouge 540, then settles to something more like HP while keeping some of that light, airy, yet slightly caramelized sweetness that makes BR540 so nice. The performance is average, I'd say. I don't think the projection is huge, but you will definitely smell this on your skin for a long time. Overall, a great and less expensive alternative to Dior Hypnotic Poison. If you search on eBay, you can find it for less than 35 dollars.

Ohhhhh, so it’s the milk mouse and the sunbeam note that’s giving that coconut , cacao bean .... Sweet kinda vibe. Certainly never smelled anything like it. Must rock in the windy autumn and icy winter ! Its ridiculous how powerful this is.

Beautiful scent with the hint of Baccarat and HP. It is long-lasting and smell also after shower. The bottle is awesome, too.
