Aegean Bronze

I wanted to try this but it was sold out and I was living in the US. I recently relocated back to Greece after 18 yrs stateside and finally bought it so that's my first summer back home after so long and I'm loving this scent. It's a Greek Mediterranean summer, not a tropical summer. Aegean is our largest sea and Aegeus was a Greek king, so no coconut here! We don't need it right now. I'm surprised they didn't add jasmine since the Greek roads in the summer smell of indolic jasmine and the intoxicating night white flower, but they just wanted to make this entirely beachy, sunny and sandy. Right off the bat I categorized this in the solar, tanning lotion-like league of Soleil Blanc/Wonderlust Sublime MK/ VS Very Sexy Oasis/ bbw Getaway Soiree/ bbw Gingham Glow/ Rio Radiance (which has the sand note too), however Aegean Bronze isn't tropical and it's not ambery balsamic as all the above. It has some balsamic effect from the burnt/spun sugar in a candied way and the aromatic frangipane but it's not ambery. Aegean Bronze's game isn't built on the indolic florals of that tropical tanning lotion league: tiare flower, tuberose, Ylang ylang. Instead of the solar salty orange flower/blossom of some of the other perfumes, it has sand and frangipane so a less heady sunny effect. It's more vanilla-sugar based yet with a subtle citrusy freshness that becomes more green by the bergamot. It has a strong green essence to my nose and it's yellow-sunny by the frangipane-sand accords like the burning hot Greek sun smiles at you as you lay on a sandy Aegean beach. The burnt sugar note reinforces that impression of bronze skin in the sun justifying the name of the perfume. The musk also pairs nicely with the sand for that animalic feeling like your skin is wet with some sand stuck on it. It has a strong vanilla - sugar base which sets it apart from the other ones and no benzoin here no amber yet it gives that sun soaked feeling. It has a warm vanilla-freesia scent at the opening, paired with the sweet freshness, partly reminiscent of Korres Vanilla Freesia in this aspect, also due to the balsamic burnt sugar, but it's summery and fresher, combined with the bergamot and frangipane. As it macerates the burnt sugar note develops more at the opening being very candied and delicious which stays at the drydown. This burnt sugar vanilla combo along with something in it smelling slightly green-yellow in my mind, which is the bergamot with the frangipane, reminded me of bbw Wild Madagascar Vanilla. Upon checking the notes of both, I see that indeed they share the notes of musk, vanilla and frangipane. I'm not a fan of frangipane in perfumes as it gives a 90s sickly sweet scent, but I love it here, it provides that sweet lotion scent applied on shimmering bronze skin. So this perfume is quite a hybrid and unique in this league. The bergamot, citruses and the sand, smell almost like unripe pear at first being a salty sour note, but I'm glad it ain't pear - the only element of Wild Madagascar Vanilla that I don't like much. Soleil Blanc is more tropical due to the coconut, tuberose, the solar ylang Ylang and the cardamom, with an added herbal spice effect from the cardamom, so it's quite different than Aegean Bronze even though they share that sweet beachy tanning lotion vein. They are both the most green out of that league due to their bergamot note. Beach Walk also has citruses, but again it's on the indolic ambery side of the spectrum. Longevity isn't the best but vanilla based lotions help. In Greece the 50ml edp costs 22.95euro approx 26usd. In the US it's like what 62 bux? Of course the Korres American site gives great discounts if you're a circle member. I had ambassador status so I was getting perfume and creams for 10 to 16 bux. Edit: another perfume in this league which combines the coconut Ylang Ylang with the frangipane, citruses - vanilla and it reminded me of Aegean Bronze Abit due to the frangipane-vanilla is the Qaed Al Fursan by Lattafa. Aegean Bronze and that one have become my go-to vanilla musky balsamic summer scents.

Want to have your lemon tiramisu and eat it too? Look no further. Aegean Bronze is an all-you-can-eat buffet of sweet summery treats, with a side serving of Baileys. It's probably the sweetest citrus scent I know but has a boozy edge that gives it personality and barely just keeps it from getting cloying. It opens with a beachy blend of notes that takes me to a sandy, sun-kissed seaport city - a whiff of liquor from an open-air bar, a blast of fresh flowers and lemons from the market, and the sugary odour of freshly baked waffle cones from an ice cream cart. On my skin, AB soon loses its initial fruity and floral accents and becomes a sophisticated mixture of tropical vanilla and sugar for the rest of its stay. As such, it almost flirts with winter, yet I can't imagine wearing it any other season than late spring, summer, or early fall. For a citrus scent it projects and lasts reasonably well. I have to reapply twice a day but I don't mind because the price doesn't break the bank. Some of my friends haven't liked AB when I've asked them to sample it. It's shamelessly non-mainstream and probably best not bought blind. For my nose though, this is a very nice fragrance.

Stumbled across Korres fragrances cheap in a Pharmacy in Kos. I spent all week sampling them to make my choices and walked away with this one and Avgustos for my husband. 2 years on and I still think these two are the star performers for this brand. Anyway onto this it smells.... Its definitely beachy and bronzy but not in a sunscreen way. Rather, it makes me think of warm clean skin that had been tanning all day and sand. It’s warm, creamy and sweet, reminding me of a warm geek breeze, it’s never too rich or cloying. I catch whiffs of this for several hours after spraying but I can’t smell it all the time. Ive only had compliments from friends when they hug me or spend the day with me. I haven’t had any compliments from strangers so I guess it sits pretty close to the skin. It reminds me of sol de Janeiro’s limited edition ‘Do not disturb’. It’s not the same scent but shares some DNA and both have a habit of wafting gently under my nose when I’m least expecting it....I detect both spun sugar and sand notes in both and absolutely love both.

This is a nice scent that combines sugary sweetness with a cool, fresh undertone, that makes it more unisex and better suited for high temperatures. However, it also feels like somewhat of a contradictory scent - I like it, and at the same time, something about it bothers me - it does not smell "right" for me in a way I cannot explain. I find that for the first 4-6 hours, I can smell it on myself; afterwards, it is only noticeable right on the skin. It even lingers after taking a shower, when I do not purposefully scrub my wrists with soap. Price point is very decent for a natural-leaning EDP, around 12 EUR for the travel size (a practical roll on) and 25-30 EUR for the spray bottle. While the ingredients are "only" about 80% natural, they claim to not use phtalates, which is a huge advantage! Since this claim extends to all Korres fragrances, I'm looking forward to exploring more of their scents.

I was looking for a fragrance that would really capture the smell of skin warmed by the sun during a beach vacation. And finally, I found exactly what I wanted. Other similar fragrances were either too “perfume-y,” too heavy, too musky, or too floral for me. But with this one, I love almost everything about it. What I especially enjoy is how it smells on the skin - there’s no bergamot, no floral notes, just the scent of warm skin, sand, a touch of salt, and sweet, luxurious sun cream. On clothes, I like it slightly less because it leans a bit more floral and perfumed, but it’s still pleasant and doesn’t give me nausea or headaches, which is rare for sweet fragrances. This is definitely a summer fragrance, perfect for sunny days, evoking beachy, slightly tropical vibes.

I was shocked with the niche-like-quality and the kick this fragrance has. instantly reminds you of a mediterranean beach where you just chill, read a book and sunbathe until sunset. maybe you brought some kavala cookies as a snack. as a guy, most of my perfumes last at least 8-10 hours and project better than aegean bronze. but this is an uplifting, somewhat gourmand-like and dumb reach for the summer. and the smell evolves and changes in duration of the day. first 1 to 1 and half hours projects well but then dies down to a skin scent. but i can always smell it on myself after 5-6 hours. this is a bit more feminine leaning (but unisex) fragrance of incredible quality and surprising smell profile in short.

This was a blind buy for me, and what an exciting discovery this is! If you like beachy scents that are sweet, sunny and a little bit salty at the same time, look no further. Though not listed in the notes, I definitely smell sweet toasted coconut, with an expensive sun tan lotion vibe. The tiare flower is not overpowering like some other summer scents (montale's intense tiare for example), there is a creamy floral vibe. If you like scents like TF Soleil Blanc and BBW At the Beach, this one is a safe buy for sure. Longevity is great, with softer projection.

Kudos for originality, the "spun sugar" note is the star here, and the "sand" accord a close second. It has a sweet but dry feel. Not gourmand. Kinda like a bronzing oil with glitter in it, the scent would totally fit such a product. I cannot detect florals or citruses. It's surprisingly not juvenile or obnoxious. Staying power isn't great, mor does it transform as time progresses. For the money it retails at, it's a convenient dumb reach, but not something more.

I didn’t expect this frag to be as beachy as it is, I’m getting a very pleasant sun screen vibe in the best way and the flowers aren’t loud. What I want in a close skin scent on a summer day, with enough warmth and sweetness that it’s very rewarding to wear. Happily spraying this one non-stop and glad it doesn’t project for sunny days. Reminds me of Skylar Nude Skin, in that it smells like sun-warmed skin by the ocean.

I love this perfume so much , is the only summer perfume I wear all year round! The florals are well blended with vanilla and musk giving a lovely creaminess! I also smell an herbal note like basil (reminds me the pots my grandma had with basil) but in a very delicate and slightly noticeably way! It is a safe buy and one you most definitely going to enjoy! The longevity is good approximately 6hs with a moderate silage!

This is definitely a Greek bronzy scent. I don't think it's similar to Soleil Blanc although it's the same vibe; light, fresh, airy, summery, bronzed beach goddess type of smell. Definitely something new, for me at least, and very unique. It was a blind buy based on the notes as I love sweet vanilla, frangipani and musk. Very pleased with this!

Truly smells like Greece in the summer. Nice salinity with almost an earthy fig note. This is what I smelled like after taking a dip in the Aegean in August, reapplying my sunscreen, laying on the bean bags at the beach club, drinking a cafe freddo, and listening to house music in the breeze.

I am not picking up any citrus in this one at all. There is a whiff of fresh freesia in the opening, but it dries down quickly to a very lovely, very warm, very sweet-without-being-cloying vanilla sugar scent. I really like this one a lot for hot summer days, and especially at that price.

It is quite sweet, I can definitely smell the spun sugar note. But it's sweet in a creamy way, not annoying. Slightly coconuty but again, creamy. Has no edges, it's not "sharp". Has a beautiful vanilla rendition. Perfect for the summertime.

Its one of the "nude" like fragrances that i am loving lately. Sampled this in the airport and fell in love. Wish i bought this instead of Bellfower. This is not a freshie, rather a warm sexy late summer evenings, even early autumn scent.

This smells like a beach, sun screen, palms, the sea and laughing children. I usually don’t prefer sweet fragrances but this one is built different i love it.

Gorgeous and perfect for summer! The citrus-note is very weak in my opinion - there is a freshness to this scent in the first minutes, but it resembles coconut water to me. As it dries down it takes on a sunscreen-quality which I really like. It gets creamier, the florals come out, and so do the sweeter notes. If I put this on in the morning, I do reapply in the evening, but that's not necessary as the reapplied scent will linger on my skin into the morning hours of the next day. Of course, it will not be strong, but someone within "kissing distance" will likely smell it. Some reviewers have been saying that this is a rather weak scent, but I am fond of Korres and their more subtle EDTs, so take my review with a grain of salt. I agree with Dandy Perfume Boy, this does have a boozy edge to it, but is not overwhelming whatsoever. So pleasant!

Nice blend of vanilla, frangipani, citruses and freesia. Maybe some faint hints of spun sugar and clean, white musk. This is not a sweet perfume in my opinion, but I have noticed that most people voted for spun sugar as the most prominent note. Moderate sweet at most I’d say. Not much else going one! I genuinely believe that if Korres would decide to increase their perfume concentration, they could have some phenomenal perfumes. Aegean Bronze is beautiful smelling but again, it’s so subdued. In all fairness, it’s not outrageously expensive and the matte, white bottle looks absolutely stunning in hand. I have so many other similar fragrances that are similar smelling and better performing that I will pass on Aegean Bronze.

This is basically Jill Sadler Sun Delight. It’s that warm sun oil sort of smell that I love. I would say this leans more towards feminine but not in that typical floral girly sort of way. It’s a more classy , chic summery wealthy elite sort of vibe. I bought this as a set for £20 on Sephora so a real bargain. I will be saving it for my French summer holiday ☀️

Frangipani overshadows everything else, and together with Fresia you get the smell of a sunscreen on the beach. Kinda lovely way it works with the name, suggesting some sunbathing memories. it doesn't smell expensive, but it does smell clean and nostalgic (nostalgic for the summer, as i write this in cold early spring hahah)

Wow! Smells exactly like Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau de Parfum 2017!! Nothing more to say. Peeps, you've got your dupe. Update: I tested it on my skin today. A kinda harsh/synthetic opening but a lovely drydowm. I feel its a mix between Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Edp and Armani Sun di Gioia.

Easy summer reach. Sits very close. Solar, sandalwood, beachy oceany note, plumeria floral, subtle sweet. Lasts 4-5 hrs tops. Nice scent when you want a summery tropical beach scent but the day is very hot and everything is too cloying. Does not smell like Soleil Blanc whatsoever.

Def fits the "beach cosmetic" scent category (which Im not a fan of) but is waaay creamier, delicious and not nauseating. Smells like an expensive holiday resort. Great for summer. Especially if you don't like traditionally fresh summer scents. It really grew on me.

I don't care much for the opening, but the dry down is just divine! I'm not good at explaining the exact notes I smell, but I cannot imagine anybody not liking it, let alone finding it offensive in any way. Very creamy, sweet, but not cloying, musky... love it!

It smells exactly like expensive sunscreen to me, definetly good for a holiday by the seaside, it’s light and luminous but very generic and smells like an average vanilla fragrance,nothing special or unforgettable

Hard to pick out singular notes but to me it smells like a lazy golden afternoon at the beach, definitely has that salty sunkissed warm skin vibe. Little bit sexy, perfect in hot weather!

Greek Goddess also by Korres bears much resemblance to this. Where it differs is that this one is a bit tangier, possibly due to the sand note. For that reason it's also slightly less indulgent and sweet, but yet also somehow much weaker. Which shouldn't be given it's an eau de parfum. For that reason, I can't recommend it too much. If you can go for Greek Goddess instead.

Blind bought this unfortunately. I didn't expected it to be so sweet. On my skin it smells very synthetic and way too sweet. The coconut and vanilla notes are the most prominent but I'm also getting citruses. Reminds me a lot of that Victoria's Secret body mist everyone was wearing in high school and sunscreen. It gave me a migraine and I had to wash it off. 4/10

It's an ordinary, summer, sweet, sandy floral fragrance and a carbon copy of Girogio Armani's Sun di Gioia. It is nice, but no signature scent here. Lasts about an hour max..

Edit: Returned! Vile! Hmmm 🤔 I may come back to edit this one! This scent is challenging, on first try on my nose I get this very weird smell like fresh cut cabbage or grass clippings left on the grass after being mown a few days ago that have developed that warm sort of humid smell 🫢, it’s also very very weak for an EDP, so it’s hard to even discern any mid and base notes. There is absolutely no citrus, jasmine, vanilla , burnt sugar or freesia. I do have dry sand adorned with dry seaweed! 😖. I have the Korres Lefko scent which is an EDT and totally out performs this in longevity, projection and fragrance! I literally cannot smell this once the seaweed/sand/cabbage/wet mouldy grass top notes have disappeared. Thankfully I only bought the 10 ml. So I’ll wait and see on this one but so far this is more a scent of poorly mowed grass verges left to rot in the heat in Salford than it is anything remotely Grecian!

Something in here really bothers me and it’s hard to pin-point what it is! On first spray it reminds me of Elle L'aime by Lolita Lempicka (without the coconut) - probably because of the initial urinal cake citruses and solar florals combo in the opening of both - but the more it dries down, the more it reminds me of the original Britney Spears Fantasy! It also smells oddly minty on my skin so the overall effect is that of a mint and citrus cleaning product, sprayed near a sickly vanilla cupcake that’s been dropped in the sand. I love quite a lot of Korres perfumes but this is one of the few that REALLY bothers me. I can see how on other peoples skin this could really work but on me it just smells baaaad :(

There is something about this collection of notes that creates a strawberry smoothie scent to my nose. Very, very nauseating.

For those folks who say it is weaker than an EDT, remember that an EDP takes more time to evaporate and give off fragrance due to more oil and less alcohol. Depending on the notes, this could be 30 minutes or even longer in cooler weather. The strength of an EDP is in the duration, not necessarily the projection. On me, I am finding I can pick up the individual notes, which are well blended, after around 15 minutes. That’s in 77 degree F, humid Seattle. I also find it to be more of a skin scent in that the notes I can detect close to the application are the same as the scent trail. I don’t pick up a lot of lemon other than a hint that I think along with the pepperiness of freesia is keeping the frangipani from being too sweet. I find it warm and slightly sweet with that Bain de Sole type suntan lotion smell with an occasional whiff of oatmeal cookies baking in the distance. Maybe from the vanilla and spun sugar?

Sprayed one spray on my shirt before going to work and when I put it back on after 8 hours, it's still smells really nice and the scent travels up to my nose. It's actually such a nice summer fragrance! Not too sweet and not too heavy or thick. Not too powdery either. It does smell like warm sand! I'm interested in seeing how long it lasts in my hair or on my skin. Will try it again and see if I might want to buy it.

Got myself the 10ml rollerball as a souvenir on my Zakynthos holiday few weeks ago. It is a nice beachy summer scent, nothing more and nothing less. Smells like expensive suntan lotion and indeed reminds me a lot of Sun Di Gioia, but also a bit of Jil Sander Sun and all those other 90’s/00’s summer frags. Easy to take with you and reapply.

Gave this a second chance but remembered why I disliked it in the first place. I don’t pick up on any on the notes and I get some sweetness and creaminess, but it disappears on my skin leaving a sort of plasticky aftertaste . Good longevity given it’s an edp and I can see it being a people pleaser, but it doesn’t really stand out to me.

For me, it smells like luxurious sunscreen and some warm, creamy flower (I'm assuming it is frangipani with sugar?). It is a very summery scent but, wearing it now when it is almost November, I feel like this provides such a beautiful sense of warmth and comfort, bringing some of that seaside relaxation into cold days

loved this when testing in store - was a classic sweet, beachy, white floral scent. however once I tried on skin properly & started wearing, i think a combo of the sand + musk began to bother me, it became a very strong sweaty skin/musky/playdough scent. so sad as i loved it initially!

absolutely gorgeous! yes, in the direction of TF Soleil Blanc but not quite so sunscreen-y. ambery and resinous and that sand note is interesting. it doesn’t project far but it lasts long on the skin. for the price point, you could douse yourself in this guilt-free.

It's beachy, sandy coconut with a touch of salt. Greek summer in a bottle with great lasting power and projection. You must test it if you like smells like this.

This is what I hoped Soleil Blanc or Beach Walk would smell like. It’s so much better and cheaper, too.

I would like my nose to always smell this perfume. It's so soothing and warm and beautiful. I love it!

Sweet and salty, warm and dry. Musky. It’s like a clean body on a very hot day.

This perfume lasts a while on me, and is one of my most complimented scents!
