Black Sugar

I'll just make this a short statement to agree with Sobbok: this fragrance does deserve more praise. Really don't understand why it's not more appreciated in reviews. Korres edts are on sale where I live, and I can't believe I haven't tested these before! Black sugar reminds me a lot of VCA's Vanille Orchidée, only better: on my skin she's smoother and not as overly sweet. She's a pretty, intriguing, caramelised sugar and vanilla with a hint of florals. Soft and sophisticated. Educated, not loud, with a touch of something rebellious that's really, really subtle, maybe even hidden... Or am I projecting my personality onto this beautiful scent? :D On my skin I don't get any soap or burned smell. Longevity and projection are really good today in 18 degrees celcius, humid weather. 6 hours and she's still there, projecting. If you like VCA's Vanille Orchidée, this is a must-try! I'll probably end up buying, though I really shouldn't. At this price, who can resist?

I made a profile specifically to clear some of the bad rep this fragrance has. It was a blind buy for me as well, and after I had already ordered it I decided to check out some reviews. And boy, I saw so many people say they disliked it that I got scared for a moment, but it arrived today and I couldn't be more pleased. It smells exactly how I thought it would, starts off very sweet and sugary (reminiscent of Prada Candy) but then becomes deeper and more sophisticated, I can definitely smell the Brazilian rosewood and the more flowery rose notes. It settled into a very dark feminine fragrance, ala Armani from the early 2000s (personally it gives me a similar vibe to Armani Mania, which sadly has been discontinued, although I believe the fragrances don't share any notes). It is definitely not soapy or too artificial, and it warms nicely into the skin. Only real downside is the longevity, but I still think it's worth it for this price point.

Is hairspray listed as a note? Just joking!😂 So finally broke down and bought this the other day. Have been looking for an autumn fragrance for a long while now and was just tired of wasting money on blind buys. Also was looking for a more clean fragrance or natural fragrance. So opted for Black Sugar as I have sampled it 5 times already. It was really between this or Midnignt Dahlia, but Black Sugar is a tad more unique i think. Midnight Dahlia is sultry and great for evening but essentially a dupe of Armani Si and a liitle more mainstream of a scent but has better projection. I really like the powderyness and spun sugar smell of Black Sugar but not sure if this will work as yet for nights out. Its really that soft!!! Projection nor longetivity isnt that great and there is a hairspray vibe to it too, especially when first applied. But I'm now hooked!!!🤣 Wish it came in a travel size for topups.

This perfume has terrible performance and projection. However, it smells amazing. This is my bed time scent and I spray it on my wrists and arms before going to sleep. It helps calm me and just sends another signal to my brain that it’s bed time. Because I wear this every single night to bed it’s one of my most used fragrances and I would never be without a bottle. P.s because I love this scent (the OG EDT) I bought the newly released EDP hoping it would have better projection and might last more than an hour or two. The EDP does not compare to the EDT and smells like a different frag. The EDP is heavier and less sweet, misses the airiness. It’s a totally forgettable fragrance. The EDT is 100 times better

What's wrong with these comments? Soapy? This Black Sugar soapy? Are we smelling the same Black Sugar because on my skin this is heavenly divine and it's pure crunchy brown sugar with a boozy spicy note, very nice heliotrope and caramel and lots of vanilla but not gourmand. It's clean and slightly powdery and maybe lipstick-like but not soapy at all, to me, but warm spicy. The skin chemistry is very interesting. Not soapy at all on my skin. The longevity is good but the trail on the skin is very faint, after 30 minutes you can only smell it if you get really close. If the projection was better it would be my #1. I love it so much.
