Mediterranean Citrus

From the little I've been able to piece together, Korres Mediterranean Citrus was an item that was launched around 2019 initially (or exclusively) destined for the US market to be sold through HSN (now part of the QVC network). There are a number of commercials still on YouTube where the hosts are (as usual) gushing over the product with praise like 'summer in a bottle', 'Greece in a bottle', etc. I was able to pick up an EDP concentration bottle on Mercari recently. It is no longer sold on the Korres website, so it seems to be officially discontinued. The official note breakdown (from a screen grab of one the aforementioned HSN commercials) matches what is shown on Fragrantica. Upon spraying, you get a very nice herbal and spicy citrus. True to its name, the citrus is the star from the beginning and through most of its life. The citrus-eucalyptus combo gives it an old-school, soapy I-know-I've smelled this-in 70s and 80's scents-before feeling that has that traditional appeal of yesteryear scents. Ditto for the rosemary and nutmeg that inject a nice aromatic element that wafts in and out, but again, the persistent juicy (but never screechy) citrus never burns off and is always present. You can really feel the neroli's presence. As a citrus lover who lives in a humid climate, that's my favorite aspect of the scent. You'd almost expect some kind of woody base to appear at the bottom, but instead there is a subtle musk that wraps it up. Sillage is moderate, longevity is fair to good and certainly nice to respray as needed. I'm struggling to decide what it reminds me of most from own collection: Gandini Lime and Basil (but with more prominent citrus and less garden herbs)? Azzaro Pour Homme L'Eau (but with orange and bergamot replacing the lemon and yuzu)? Or quite possibly my beloved Tuscany per Uomo (but without the lemon and lime, more persistent citrus, and the anise replaced by rosemary). Bottom line is that I'm enjoying it quite a bit. To my nose it has a solid masculine lean, even though I believe it was marketed as unisex. Worth seeking out? Perhaps not, especially since it's so rare and is not especially unique. But definitely a very nice addition to the genre with a Greek-inspired twist. I have to agree with the onscreen HSN talent: Mediterranean Citrus is certainly true to its name.
