Sikinos

This is a nostalgic ode to our smaller islands of sun, rock, yellow flowers and shining sea. I found my long lost love for Korres skincare recently (the Black Pine serum is phenomenal) and I am glad they make perfumes too. Si'kinos is beautiful and different. It is kinda similar to Tropidelic by BBW to my nose, but Sikinos came out first. Similar vein, aka solar, green-floral, kinda "dry" feeling, nothing syrupy here, but this does not have the stinky orange blossom type ylang-ylang, the "camphor" metallic smell of Tropidelic on my skin. BBW has an issue with the overload of orange blossom, frangipani blossom (At the beach) or ylang ylang in some mists, like the Sunkissed and Tropidelic that don't always suit my chemistry, even tho I like them. Sikinos is smooth sailing, pun intended. It is solar, floral and warm, but also green and calming and much greener than Tropidelic to me, with an ethereal essence due to the freesia, salt and the "watery" lotus, reminiscent of summer breeze. The name suits it. Some of our islands like Sikinos and Syros are rough, "dry", full of rock without dewy grass, only yellow flowers and herbs with the intense Greek sun contrasting the refreshing, calm-like-oil sea (shark-free sea...), and so this scent gives me this impression of yellow flowers in the sizzling summer sun, but also the salty breeze in a serene room of flowy curtains and cold white sheets - the powdery effect. From the opening to the dry down. Its opening compared to Tropidelic's bubblegum/gardenia passion flower opening, is different. Here it is powdery sweet and bright - the bamboo-freesia pairing is refreshing, intensely green like bamboo, but not grassy, while the watermelon is subtle on me and adds to the slightly sweet "watery" effect. Sikinos has the fresh aquatic lotus, the sandalwood, the salt and sweet powdery mimosa that create a fresh powdery effect similar to that of BBW Sea Salt coast which likewise is watery by the lotus and powdery too, but they are different scents. It is interesting how some salty aquatic fragrances come off as powdery, rather than plain ozonic aquatic, just like Sea Salt Coast by BBW and J by Jennifer Aniston which has water lily, musk, freesia and the sea notes. Sikinos starts off watery-green and gradually becomes more solar and floral almost like orange blossom, but not quite, not obnoxious as orange blossom usually is to me. The bamboo and mimosa create the "orange blossom" type of green floral and solar impression, a fresh green, but not grassy, floral scent that yellow flowers have sometimes. Orange blossom as a note smells green in a floral manner, waxy and solar, sometimes salty too. Sikinos is also waxy at first due to the musk/sandalwood which I love. Its base is green/dry to me throughout by the cedar. The mimosa adds this warm floral vibe to it, like yellow flowers in the sun, slightly "dusty" floral since there is a balsamic effect to it, I am guessing it is the mimosa-musk effect. The mimosa creates the solar effect which is dry, not the usual syrupy MK Wonderlust Sublime solar effect. As I described the salty element translates to a powdery nostalgic scent on me and the projection is beautiful in the breeze, a blend of all the different elements it encompasses, truly addicting. It takes me on a trip to my fav island of Spetses or Lesvos where my dad's from. All my family on both sides are from villages by the sea so this scent got me homesick. Lasted 5 hours on me.

This is a watery splashy summertime joy. It reminds me a bit of La Tulipe by Byredo (presumably because of the freesia note.) The watermelon note is also distinctly rind rather than the red fruit or watermelon candy. Underneath that is some stemmy, grassy greenness and ocean breeze but it’s still quite smooth, warm, and sunlit from the sandalwood. Feels like it was meant to be worn exclusively with white linen. Barefoot in the grass.

The opening transports me to a mediterranean holiday. When you wake up super early and go down to the beach and you sit all alone listening to the waves and letting the gentle sunrays warm up your face. It is fresh, clean, airy. Interesting with natural notes. Unfortunately the initial scent disappears quickly and it turns into a still very lovely but more simple soapy, clean and slightly fruity perfume.

Sikinos is a pretty fragrance. I purchased it during my last holiday in Greece and now it reminds me of the happy sunny days I had. Creamy, solar and very refined. Korres have some pretty stunning perfumes, true hidden gems! Sikinos and Lefko are my absolute favorites so far.

One of my favorites for the summer! Smells nostalgic, like sun and sea and sunscreen (sunscreen in the most lovely way imaginable) and summer breeze. I sorta get the fresh linen smell but barely. Lasts a while on the skin and on clothes.

Beautiful unisex springtime and summertime fragrance very calmy smooth and nostalgic. on me sandalwood is the prominent note. Thank God no watermelon on my skin.

Love this as it remind me of a Greek island vacation. I really like the fruity (sweet) hint that gives it a unique spin.

My go-to summer scent and has a good lasting power unlike other Korres fragrances.

There is something magical about this one! I've not had a chance to smell Florabloom yet so I can comment on the similarity there, but I can say that I really don't like coconut fizz and I can't find the relation between this perfume and that one personally. This doesn't have buttery florals or fizzy citrus so I wouldn't compare the two. Sikinos is a lovely wear. It is salty but not enough to give me a headache (which a lot of perfumes with a salt / sea note do), and the watermelon isn't necessarily recognisable as that specific fruit, but it does give a very watery and gentle sweetness to what is a clean smelling floral perfume. The freesia is matching up to the lotus so it's not sharp or screechy and I think the mimosa comes through to give a slight fluffyness in the drydown. As other reviewers have said, it just honestly smells like a holiday! I also have Korres Avgoustos and that smells like a holiday too! That one is green fig and orange blossom whereas this one is harder to define because I'm not sure any specific notes jump out at me.... It doesn't lean too far into the body lotion texture, or the sharp shampoo style perfumes. It's not particularly laundry-like either, but somehow it just smells like wearing fresh and clean clothes on a fresh and clean body, on a sunny day and hanging near the ocean.

Sikinos is one of my favorites out of all Korres perfumes. It’s a nice fresh floral that feels watery and gives beautiful just out of the shower vibes. For this type of scent profile, the longevity is exceptional. I wore this last night after a shower and I still smell it strongly on my skin—now mid-day the following day, more than 16 hours later. Sikinos can compete with other perfumes in this category that are much more expensive, so this is an exceptional value.

I smelt this at the airport looking for a summery scent, and this was so light and airy on my skin! Lightweight, watermelony and after a while it leaves a salty essense as if you spent the day at the beach while it being subtly floral. For anyone who likes layering scents, I think this would be a great one to add to the mix.

Summer breeze type of scent. Warm, sunshiny. Complex and well balanced. Fresh linen drying in a garden full of greenery and mimosa blossom with a distant pond within sight with lotos flowers on. It does not smell like laundry detergent but you will smell fresh and clean and sunshiny in it.

My experience smelling the fragrance in the small sample packet (not a fan of the little tear-open plastic envelopes Korres uses for fragrance samples) and close to my skin is very different than how it settles and projects on my skin, which makes Sikinos a little harder to review. Up close, it's very aquatic: lots of bamboo and lotus with an appealing dose of salted watermelon. It's summery and light and quite lovely, if a little body splashy. The projection, however, is freesia all day with some lotus and a mélange of other notes that leaves me with an overall impression of solar, sandy, sunscreen freesia with some aquatic supporting actors. It's powdery in a not-bad way, and feels a bit like a "mature" powdery fragrance layered with a "young", inexpensive splashy scent. I agree with the fresh linen drying out on a line in the sunshine comparisons. I find the projection - and therefore how I am generally experiencing the fragrance and how I assume others are experiencing it as well - to be way less exciting than it is up close. I think a lot of people will like this, but it's not quite my cup of tea. I enjoyed the up close experience (7.5/10, maybe an 8/10), but the projection is boring and not my style. It's definitely likeable for many, but I won't be purchasing a full bottle. 6/10.

Spraying Sikinos will always transport me to summer 2026 Greek vacation at Crete. I was expecting watermelon and bamboo but funny, I get musky figs instead and I'm very pleased for that. When spraying about 10 sprays in the morning it lasts me all day. I own another three Korres (Midnight Dahlia, Lefko and Augustos) and I'm looking forward to get another one.

Was very excited about tryin' out this one. The opening is appealing fruity-sweet watermelon. Can't notice any hints of the salt note, which was my main reason to buy this fragrance. It turns into strong heavy and creamy musk pretty quick. Evokes old lady fragrance The musk stays on my skin forever, after 6 hours of wear I had to take a shower to wash off, since I couldn't stand the smell at all, but I could smell it even after that. I guess it's my skin chemistry since I like how this smells on paper.

This opened beautifully, with the watermelon and bamboo very apparent, and I thought it was a winner. But the opening very quickly faded and settled into a very unpretty musk that just sat there like an ugly toad. So sad. I wish korres would sell testers bc I got burned by some blind buys of full size. I'm not as impressed by this round of korres fragrances. Perhaps because they tried to go the unisex route this time? In my opinion when you do that neither side ends up happy.

If “underrated” was a brand, then that would definitely be Korres! Sikinos starts of with a fresh bamboo and watermelon scent with all its fruity but airy and aquatic quality. Then in settles down into a clean, slightly musky, warm yet again being pulled by the refreshing notes. Smells like a perfect beautiful skin. This is a beautiful everyday scent perfect for summer but can be worn during spring or fall for cozying up.

This is "ok", nothing more. The salt & cedar give it a touch of "Kyma". Like they're in the same family, but the florals make this a bit more feminine... It's unisex, but leaning feminine in my opinion. The lotus, bamboo and freesia, make it airy too. I'm not getting any watermelon at all. Overall, it's pleasant and office safe, but forgettable

Horrible, just absolutely horrible. I was hoping for a watermelon fragrance but all I got was this nasty stale soap smell. It would be fine if it just smelled like soap—I like the smell of soap, but this was like soap that had gone bad. Very mature smelling. 0/10
