Elegant Schwan 06

This took me by surprise. I FINALLY got around to finding a sample and generously sprayed my arm... Licorice is all I got from the top notes! Now that it has been a few minutes, I get the other notes too. Rose, a fresh iris, something fruity, a subtle vanilla, some woods. But the licorice note is so interesting, from looking at the notes, I would have never guessed that! The whole fragrance has a very distinct and unique “spicy” aspect to it. Not in a culinary way, it’s not cumin, cinnamon or cloves or pepper-y or anything harsh...I struggle to find the right terms to describe what I’m smelling...it’s just very alive and fresh? Not in an aromatic sense either! I am baffled at the opening of this fragrance!! After a while, it does calm down and leaves room for the other notes to bloom. This is very pretty though, very sophisticated and very chic. I almost wish I had not smelled it because... The price of a bottle is such a slap in the face... Look, to each their own when and where they want to spend their coin. Q: Is it a beautiful and unique fragrance? A: Absolutely! Q: Is it worth that exorbitant amount of money? A: Debatable. If you’ve got $1,300 lying around, I guess? But that’s the thing though. This is a luxury item that is absolutely meant to deter the common folk from buying it. And I don’t mean that in a condescending asshole way. I, myself, couldn’t be more common. The thing about ANYTHING LUXURY is that it’s meant to be extravagant and unattainable in terms of monetary value. For the collectors or the luxury lovers, there are no arguments, the price is the price and that’s that. After this sample, i unfortunately fell under its spell and i too am obsessed with this fragrance...I will probably have to find a full bottle of Eleganter Schwan at one point...damn my boujee tastes 🙄

Elegant Schwan haunted me for over a year. I fell in love with my sample, but the price repelled me. I told myself floral sandalwoods are everywhere, and that I'd surely find something comparable if I just kept hunting. After a year of sampling, comparing and chasing alternatives I learned a humbling lesson... there is nothing like Elegant Schwan nor will there ever be. ES is an end-game floral. There were two details that put the price in perspective and made clear to me why there are no alternatives. First, the concentration is a staggering 45% which makes the longevity impressive and noticeable without managing to feel heavy at all. Secondly, the rose used in ES takes three years to extract. The specific rose used is a protected mountain flower that is harvested from the Swiss Alps, and exists within an extremely short window of availability so simply put, ES cannot be duped or replicated. This is meant to be exclusive, this is meant to be a luxury, and this is meant to not smell like anything else. Once I finally realized this, the crown jewel of my collection was finally born. Editing to add some recent feedback: wore this for a marathon of a day (14+ hours of work, errands, walked dog etc) - got to dinner feeling gross and commented on needing to take a shower ASAP and my friend confusedly remarked that I smelled so fresh and nice like I had already showered- yes, this fragrance is that good :)

I tried this fragrance last year and I was like I can’t do it was too sweet and cloying but I didn't factor in I was living in Southern Cali at the time and tried it on a hot summers day. Now that I migrated to a much cooler climate area, I decided to try this scent again and I feel in love the fruity wood scent mixed with the cold climate is amazing. I’m glad I tried it again.

Looking at the notes I never understood the hype, but I finally tried it yesterday and I can't stop thinking about it. It's like you just bought fresh pear jam, roses, and vanilla bean from a farmer's market and you unpacked them all at the same time.

At present, this is my absolute favourite fragrance of all time. Even though I have a bottle and can enjoy it whenever I like, every opportunity to smell it still feels like a treat that never fails to excite me.

The thing about smelling perfumes of this type of quality is it ruins other ones lol. This is extremely expensive and is now the most expensive perfume I own and while I think it would be better suited in the $600-800 category for 100ml (it really pisses me off that they charge that much for only 50ml and such a shame they’ve upped their prices in recent years by a lot) but I still bought it anyways because I could not stop thinking about it after I sampled. After draining two samples of it of which some sadly leaked out but it had my room smelling amazing for over a week so yeah I kept thinking about it because I would catch whiffs of it randomly. I paused for a moment before buying and decided to try some other perfumes that it was compared to and nothing came close in terms of scent or quality. Not even a little bit. I’m being extremely selective these days about curating my collection. I don’t have a set number of bottles I adhere to but I have certain standards which have taken a what could have been 600+ fragrances down to under 100 bottles. I aim to always keep a curated collection vs just collecting for the sake of it. If I don’t love it and or wear it often then it’s gotta go. I don’t keep things I don’t use and with that being said, dropping the cash on this was a no brainer for me since I know I will be wearing it a lot. It’s a very versatile fragrance for me and I just adore it! I enjoyed the review by knissim talking about smelling like a fresh pear jam with roses, some vanilla bean from a farmer's market that you unpacked them all at the same time. It’s absolutely gorgeous, the rose is stunning and everything is blended to perfection. Performance is great. Very femme. Very sophisticated pretty girl type of scent. Will definitely draw compliments and if anyone asks you what it is they’ll think you’re insane for spending that much on it but I don’t give a damn. Eleganter Schwan (Elegant Swan) is truly an extremely unique take on luxury cool weather fragrances. This is a very interesting take on Winter and I can see how Krigler would identify it s such... especially with the note of Pear combined with the German 🌹. Even so on initial spray onto my skin I initially thought I smelled more Gardenia flowers combined with spices that are prickly and just sweet enough. Until 3-5 minutes later it morphs into a floral pear that is a little spicy. The dry down is beautiful... sensual but not overly so. Although I could still sense the individuality of the listed notes they were supremely blended... very much a communal state, dancing & playing with each other ... giving each other an opportunity to shine. Eleganter Schwan keep getting sweeter on my skin the more I wear it. Oddly enough, i can’t help but feel like I’ve smelled something like this before and after sniffing out all other fragrances in my collection I was SO HAPPY I was WRONG!!️ At this price point I’d be mad if Elegant Schwan would have been duplicated. Especially since you can’t return unless unsprayed. At the 4 hour mark, PROJECTION diffused and was not as bold and forward; however, others around me still smelled me and they said it was beautiful and enjoyable. LONGEVITY is good - still in my skin at the 7 hour mark, SCENT TRAIL - again I could smell it if I am not competing with other smells, but to be honest... it was lacking for me. As much as I love the scent I HONESTL think Eleganter Schwan is grossly overpriced. I could not in good conscience recommend this fragrance due to the price alone. It just does not pass the CommonScents test ~ I would STRONGLY recommend you SAMPLE FIRST... or * PERHAPS* if there was a 30ml!?️ Pam Jordan💋 CommonScents & Luxury

this one is a nice fragrance. Yes, it's really nice, pleasant, the iris and pear, a bit vanilla and some patch, not the earty mouldy patch but something elegant. The name of the scent is nice, the bottle is nostalgic, so is the pretty pink color of the liquid. So, I tried this at Kriglers Munich - a fantastic perfume boutique, super luxurious, in the best high street in Munich. While I have purchased some rather expensive scents in the past, I just have to say no to this. Yes, it's really nice, but it's not extraoridnary or so much better than everything else I have. A 100ml bottle comes at a price of 1300.-$ Oo (huge leap within the past few years, when back in 2022 the same bottle was 'only' 780.-$) They don't give you samples at the boutique and while they offer samples to buy at their online shop you can't buy any at the boutique as well. Very disappointing that. So I looked up the options for samples online and well, you can get a 2ml sample of this scent for about 55.-$ - plus shipping, which then sums up to 75.-$ - for 2 ml of a perfume - 75$? No! Just a big no! Without bragging, I could buy this, but I won't. It angers me that the prices for such artifically created exclusiveness sky-rocketed like that and have no connection to the actual good you purchase anymore. I mean, none at all. The bottles are nostalgic, but not even something special, just plain glass bottles, paper sticked on them, not even the bottles are worth anything special. So Krigler, nice scents, really, but this is just a rip off without comparison

If you like, Petite Noire Robe, Soie Malaquais, Flowerbomb Nectar, or Circus by Brittney Spear you will love this. Reminds me of a mixture or recurring element of all of those. Has that same harsh plastic liquorice note that Petite Robe Noir has. Its very harsh at first but after 10-15m it turns into black currant liqour. 30m-1h it turns into a fruitchouli similar to Victor Rolf Flowerbomb Nectar. Its like a Frankenstein of all the scents mentioned above. Nitpicking parts and combining them here for a ultimate dry down of vanilla like Circus. Have to give my bottle a year or 2 to come together because it was a fresher batch apparently. So, I have a fb of Soie and a few samples. When I first sampled back in 2022 maybe 23 it was very black currant foward. Like a currant liqour. Yet, either through reformulation or oxidation my bottle now lacks that vibe. I smell more so nutty chocolate with black currant. I have a refill as well and smelling it I do get the liquor effect. That effect is echoed here. When smelling the cap of the bottle it smells just like Soie but more floral and vanillery. Again its a Frankenstein effect.

Soooo I received a sample of this with a full bottle of Abb 221 recently. This scent easily is one of the prettiest scents I have ever smelled and I have smelled hundreds. Whilst it is beautiful it does not project that well. I would easily buy a 100 ml for up to 800.00 for the beauty of the scent alone but not 800.00 for a 50 ml, and certainly NOT 1250.00 for a 100 ML. They and Dior have upped their prices way too much and too abruptly. I have bought my share of fragrance purchases for 300 per bottle but I don't care what hotel you place them in the scents do not warrant that abrupt price hike....they call it inflation of raw materials, I call it RUBBISH and Greed !!!!! I will enjoy my sample of eleganter Schwan and press on.
