Zen Rain

To my nose, starts out like Ivory soap (spicy/clean), dries down like a pared-down China Rain (muguet, clean, green, musk), and the late drydown has bit of Kuumba Made Water Goddess (sandalwood-musk-powder). Very light and close to the skin, but lasts all day. A good no-brainer scent for when you're not sure what to wear or need something with a light trail.

Very special, and gives me such a comforting feeling. Love it. Lasts very well, and I get lots of compliments. It's very natural smelling, and I feel like myself in it, like it's part of me, and me it. Very zen.

I migrated to this one after I could no longer get Terra Nova Rain. It's pretty sharp, piercing and strong so I could see how it might be off putting. I can't believe there isn't musk listed in the notes as this definitely has noticeable musk throughout the entire life of the scent. I mix a small amount of this oil with Kate Spade Walk On Air perfume to tone it down a bit and the dry down is a green floral musk. I have to be in the mood to wear it but I do believe it leaves a fresh clean scent trail.

This does give off a harsh, floral soap vibe but I still enjoy it because of associations I have to using this in high school in the late 90s. There's definitely an aquatic note that captures a certain kind of rain - like a heavy, cleansing rain on a warm spring day. On my "like" scale of 1<5, this is a 2.

A beautiful nice fresh clean light floral soap that doesnt smell soapy. It's not soapy in aldehydes or screetchy but it smells like a clean baby to me. Nostalgic and nice but doesn't project in the oil that I got. Will be keeping though

Bleurgh. I want to like this (and almost do at times), but there is something in the mix that does not agree with me. What should be a dainty, airy floral is weighed down by a disturbing metallic “wet penny” note. (That’s the best way to describe it!) I had a similar problem with Kuumba’s Arabian Rose, so maybe the rose in this is the culprit. I will give it points for strength, though - easily the best sillage + longevity of the Kuumba Made fragrance oils I have tried thus far!

Extremely harsh scent, the florals are quite jarring considering the name. The last thing I was expecting was for this perfume to be this floral, but I guess I didn't peak at the notes before picking this up. I tried my best to like this one, but it is quite rough of the nose. I was expecting more of a clean soapy scent, which I guess this is soapy but more in a grandma soap way, not a clean soap. I can't smell anything except the florals in this and a tinge of spice, just enough to burn my nose just a little. Smells familiar, like a white floral of some sort but I can't tell which. If you're in the market for a Kuumba fragrance, skip this one.

Though I like a lot of other KM oils, this one misses the mark for me. Never fully blends into my skin and stays almost separate, smelling like a detergent/ cleaner and a little pinesol-y. I think I'm one of the few ones that this one doesn't work for, so don't let it deter you from trying it.

Rain-scented laundry detergent concentrate. Slightly synthetic and really strong. Couldn’t wear it for long.. it was a scrubber. Not my thing, but I could see wear this would be enjoyable if used super SUPER sparingly.

This is identical to a cheap soap your mom was buying in the 90s. It smells like a cleaner. Definitely something nostalgic, but otherwise unenjoyable. /10

I like Zen Rain - it's a(nother) underrated perfume in Kuumba Made's catalog. It starts out very crisp, almost like White Linen by Estee Lauder but without the fizzy aldehydes. As it develops, I get less crisp and more powdery white floral notes with a touch of greens. It reminds me a little bit of Alyssa Ashley Musk oil. This is perfect for daytime or office wear, I don't think it'd suit as a "sexy date night fragrance".

can someone tell me how this compares to kuumba's china musk?
