Velvet Brew

Beautiful bottle to display, decently priced Interestingly enough, this smells completely different in my home than in store. Way too harsh and alcohol heavy in store and possibly meshing with other perfumes in ulta. It has a unique clean-musky opening, which i can appreciate. Patchouli heavy dry down, not typical gourmand (which i love, market over saturation with sticky sweet gourmands is annoying af lately- especially in July/August wtf) Weaker performance sadly. I can only get 2ish hours before feeling like i have to reapply. I do get the black opium references but i like this one a little bit more, imo black opium is sweeter. But with velvet brew im honestly kinda surprised there’s not cocoa in the opening. Not necessarily a sweet cocoa, but I get cocoa nonetheless. This is going to be all i smell like come fall

This is my favorite of the 3 Mood Stones! It’s a delicate, creamy coffee/cocoa scent almost like a café latte but add a lovely diffusive orange blossom. I also have Zara’s Cocoa Sunset in Miami which smells VERY similar by the way! I probably didn’t need both but I had to have this gorgeous bottle!

Ooh wow this one is very nice At first spray I get the hazelnut note but at the dry down it’s completely different it’s a warm cosy sort of autumn scent it’s really nice this one is my favourite mood stone

Loved this one! Out of the three it's the best fit for me. A rich patchouli fragrance, I got the nutiness of the hazlenut also. I believe it's the one she called the most "unisex". Kinda see why. Love it

Verrrry lovely! The patchouli and coffee combination gives it a chocolatey affect, very nice and wintery! Smelled this and instantly recognized it from somewhere, pretty sure from one of the black opiums

This smells like a nutty Black Opium. I like the non-branded, organic bottles a lot, but don't need this.

This perfume is okay... It isn't my favourite. I prefer the Cashmere Muse. The Velvet Brew just smells like a medicine to me. It has a really harsh chemical smell that just doesn't sit right on my skin

When we got these in at Ulta I immediately knew I had to have this one! (Although I also bought the cashmere one the next day!) I am a black opium and all flanker lover and to me this is def a distant cousin. But after this sits on skin for a while I keep getting whiffs of something sweet but still clean at the same time. It’s like you just put on clean pjs that you washed in the most lux laundry detergent I’m obsessed! I only wish the bottle was bigger cause I can see myself going through this! I tested all 3 on skin and this one def out performed the other two!

Decided to stop by ulta to smell the collection. I was initially drawn to cashmere muse and blush wood, but to my surprise this ended up being my favorite. I also think it's the strongest in the collection. Even after I washed my hands I could still pick up a slight smell of it. I was a little iffy cause of the patchouli and coffee accords, but they are an intoxicating duo. It smells almost like a lightly sweetened chocolate. This will for sure be my fall/winter scent. I am in love

I agree with the earlier review that this can be called a distant cousin to YSL Black Opium. But it is very distant. This really does not smell like anything else I have ever tried, and I have tried and own quite a few. It is different and quite attractive. Make you think when you wear it. I am a fan of this new series and I think all three were well done, especially Velvet Brew (perfect name for it by the way) and Blush Woods.

The only one out the line that has character. Starts off smelling like old coffee but settles into an intoxicating patchouli, warm, sexy scent.

Smell a lot like a coffee. Best of the 3. Remind me of black opium
