Bonbons à La Vanille

I had a sample of Kyse BonBons a la Vanille from an order I had gotten a few months ago and put it in my closet without smelling it and forgot about it. Fast forward to last week when I was playing with some of my samples and this was one of them. I put a little on my hand and smelled it (not expecting much because I like vanilla but have never been blown away by it)..and kept smelling it, and just could not stop smelling it. I ran into the living room all excited and asked my husband to smell it and asked if he smelled the gorgeousness that I had smelled, and he said that it smells like vanilla ice cream to him, which is just fine because I am a gourmand lover. But I was getting more than ice cream. I was getting that little bit of musk also that grounds the perfume and it was heavenly. Went to visit my parents the next day and they kept telling me how good I smelled! When I called them the next day my mom told me that I had smelled so good (again, LOL!) when I had come to visit and I told her about Bonbons (and am thinking about getting her a bottle for Christmas!). I am now obsessed with Bonbons a la Vanille and have found the vanilla that I will keep in my collection forever, as long as it's made. I have the 30ml and the body butter on the way to me, and I want everything I can get in this scent!! It is described as a grown up vanilla candy on the website and that is exactly what it is, and oh my gosh it lasts forever on me! It's pure heaven!

My bottle is about a year or 2 old, and the juice is a deep amber color. Strong, sugary, and inviting. A toasted, brown sugar, cocoa powder vanilla cloud in the same vein as Maria Candida Gentile’s Noir Tropical. But this is airier, more brown sugary, and with a slightly marine, almost metallic musk only perceivable when pressing nose to wrist. Like freshly showered skin the evening after an entire day spent at the coast, clean but still with a slight tang of sea salt. I’m smitten. The projection is strong, over an arms length. I am typically an over sprayer, but for this I only use 3 sprays max. After I put this on for bed the other night, it was radiating several inches from my wrist the next morning. My bottle of Bonbons à la Vanille is the fragrance for a bronze summer diva dancing through a string of summer dalliances along a sunbaked coastline. It’s playful and decadent like licking maple syrup off your wrist over room service in bed; but just airy enough to keep from becoming cloying. The beast mode projection and longevity make it strong enough for sunset happy hour or an afternoon wandering around town. Uncomplicated and carefree, but addictive. ☀️🧁🍭👙🍩🍬🪩

Omg, YUM. This very well might be my favorite “plain” vanilla fragrance. I first encountered it in a free tube of body cream when I made a Kyse order, and I have been savoring it, cherishing the scent (plus the body cream itself is divine). I made another order and asked if I could be given a sample of Bonbons in fragrance form, and Terri sent it! I think it works better as a lotion as it has the skin note and that’s where you put lotion. When I first sprayed the perfume, I might have made a little confused face as I was used to this scent laying on and blending with my skin, not wafting in the air around me, but I quickly got accustomed to it and used my sample up in less than 48 hours. My MIL said she smelled cinnamon, asked what I was baking from the other room! (Kyse has astounding sillage and projection.) A woman at work said I smell like brown sugar. All in all I adore Bonbons and hope it’s never discontinued or I’ll have to stock up. If the perfume isn’t your thing, the scented body cream might make it make sense. I personally wish more fragrances did this formula, a main note and then a skin note. Or add strawberry to this mix? Omg yes.

I’ve both sampled and own many from this house, not all but most. This one out of all, so far, remains my favorite. This is a delightful, beautiful, grown and sexy, vanilla, musk. Musk isn’t listed as a note but guessing the oak moss combined with the skin note is creating that. If you happened to wear “Vanilla Musk” in high school in the 90’s like me and still love vanilla’s and soft musks—like Egyptian musk or white musk, you’ll likely prefer this. I’m a healer and licensed massage therapist, this scent is inoffensive yet projects and gets compliments. I was wearing this layered with Bianco Latte after a long day of sweating and working on on clients. I stopped to get gas on the way home and the receptionist said I smelled so good, like vanilla and asked what I had on. I adore this scent. I’m almost done with my bottle and plan on restocking cause I like her that much. She’s signature scent worthy, also great with layering. I want to try her with Alien. I also don’t find this too heavy for summer nights or Miami “winter” weather.

As a vanilla lover who leans heavily towards gourmands, this is one of the best vanillas I've smelled. It's got some wood in there for a touch of depth and interest (just a touch), without taking over and making it too masculine. Perfect amount of sweet. I much prefer this to cologne of the missions, and I also prefer it to Molinard's Vanille. It's not so cookie-frosting as Comptoir Sud Vanille extreme. It does not have the burnt caramelized note that is common in many vanillas, nor does it lean towards root beer. I mainly get a thick vanilla, a tiny bit of wood, and a touch of sugar. I want more of this. Update: I had this on fabric, and the next day, I noticed the musk. Lasts at least 24 hours on fabric. I put it on my pajama sleeve so I can enjoy it thru the night and not compete with other smells. In the early morning, it reminds me of chocolate, but during the day, it's straight vanilla.
