Bonbons au Lait

I'm in love with lactonic scents right now; seems they're having a moment. I've gone back and forth on trying this one... it has such divisive reviews. Finally pulled the trigger and omg, this is SO good!! I get the most beautiful, realistic, sweet whipped cream. Light, fluffy, milky, realistically lactonic. But also kind of a cold creamy lactonic if that makes sense? I also love Lait Concentre and I find that to be a photorealstic warm condensed milk smell. This reads much colder to me, like fresh whipped cream. It's a soft intimate scent but lasted about 8 hrs on me. LOVE

Terri has a scientific background and it shows. When she goes for an effect she typically nails it. The opening of this one has a passion fruit top note that is not listed above and it makes the opening a little like a solero ice cream. The creamy milky note lasts for hours and although this opens very sweet, on me at least, it tones down over time. A yummy easy reach for me. If you like this you will probably also like vanille fumee (vanilla with a less strong milky note than this, but a new york cheesecake kind of feel). Another good one from Kyse :).

This is a true lactonic, and that's hard to find. Often fragrances will be labeled lactonic because they have a creamy quality, but the resemblance to actual milk is kind of tenuous. This smells like actual condensed milk, and a little bit of sourness is part of that. It wouldn't be truly lactonic without that. It's mostly sweet though and smells very much like a dessert. Layering this with fruity fragrances is absolutely divine - you smell like a pavlova!

Wrigley's Juicy Fruit gum to my nose. A pleasant, fluffy and comforting gourmand. Very linear, not sickly lactonic, but creamy. I'm on my second bottle and working through it fast, even with a large collection. Something I look forward to wearing when I want to snuggle in with a cozy blanket as the weather starts to cool. Sometimes I do pick up a metallic note, but it doesn't take away from the yummy scent. The dry down adds a nutty savory note.

This is so friggen good!!! It isn't your usual vanilla or lactonic fragrance, so if you are looking for a "vanilla" vanilla then this probably isn't for you. It literally smells like custard. A thick sweetened-eggy custard. I have never smelled a perfume like this and custard is the closest thing in the my scent memory to pull from. It's beautiful and comforting, delicious - really enjoyable. Instant Love!

The milk, cream perfume of my dreams. Yummy, vanillic, sweet whipped cream. Yes, it goes on a bit sour and strangely I love that. It mellows out to a lush, so so creamy sweet lait, gorgeous. Milk is so incredibly hard to get right and Terri nailed it. Very comforting and a wonderful sleep scent. I'm smitten.

At first sniff, I feel a little worried about Bonbons au Lait - there's a subtle plastic smell and it reads just sour enough that I wonder if I should run to scrub it off before it goes full on into spoiled milk. I decide against it, as I find that Kyse perfumes can take a while to settle into their intended state. After 10 minutes of drying down on my skin, I revisit the sprayed area and am happy to report that I am now experiencing the scent of creamy MILK! It's smooth and soothing, a bit sweet, with just a pinch of salt. There's a little bit of butter, but it's not overly rich. Bonbons au Lait is extremely realistic, perhaps too realistic for some. I imagine this could be a very polarizing scent, so try a sample first if you're curious about it. It's more of a bedtime fragrance for me, and one that I'm constantly going back and forth on.

Sweet musky milk that turns into a much more refined version of Calgon Vanilla Swirl. (The purple bottle that has a picture of an ice cream cone with sprinkles on it.) "Bonbons" starts off EXTREMELY mild, to the point that I can barely smell it. And the way it morphs reminds me of my disappointment with Calgon, which I purchased as a younger person expecting a truly yum-delicious gourmand vanilla...but it wasn't really that. And in the same vein, I think THIS perfume loses some of it's edible quality as it progresses too. But here it's not a bad thing, and in terms of wear-ability it gets high marks from me because the fragrance as a concept is just *so soft* and inoffensive. It smells neither like dessert nor like perfume, but rather just a simple sweet skin scent that doesn't ask for much.

This is delicious. I only smell custard, but I love the smell of custard so that’s fine with me. I just wish it lasted longer and projected more, but it’s usually this way with gourmands with no patchouli or jasmine, it seems... but it smells better without those, anyway.

I think I need to stay away from heavy milk notes. It's not that it's a "bad" smell per se, but it's not something I want to smell like. It's a smell that I'd rather enjoy while eating a custard-filled baked good. Although I can tolerate this one more than Alkemia Au Lait (that one reminded me of sour/salty condensed milk with feta), I will pass on a FB purchase of this. I will say it is pretty natural-smelling.

I usually like lactonic notes but this has a whole lot of that, and it’s super sweet. It smells good but the lactonic notes are going a bit sour on me. She has others I like better

I just received a sample of this and when first testing it smells like sour or curdled milk, to the point that my nose feels like it's cottage cheese. I waited about 30 minutes, and it turned more lactonic and sweet. The smell changed into a can of sweetened condensed milk, but still kept some of the curdling - just maybe a bit more metallic in undertone than sour. It's not something that I love so far, especially when the opening smells so curdled. But I'll let it sit for a few months (like another reviewer suggested) and see what happens!

I've tried about 10 of Kyse perfumes and this is the first one I'm not a fan of :(. It smells like spoiled milk on my skin. I've been searching for the perfect lactonic perfume and was hoping this would be it for me.

This smells like a vanilla milkshake that has gone sour in the hot garbage. I actually gagged when i smelled my sample. I love quite a few of Kyse other scents, however this one is really gross :(

I love Kyse but this is very sour on me. Smells like sour milk so I had to scrub it off.

The opening is rich and buttery with a hint of salt. Once it dries down the salt note fades some and it smells more creamy and milky. I see the resemblance to Vanilla Milk although I like this one better. This has a more lactonic milk note that I love in perfume. Custard milk and sugar pretty much sum up this fragrance. It is linear after the opening. I think this is one that lactonic perfume lovers will really enjoy. People who love Matin Calin by SUD Pacifique will enjoy this as well. They do not smell alike, but have the same vibe of trying to authentically capture the scent of delicious dairy products.

The first time I tried this, I was immediately put off by a sour milk smell. I tried it again about 5 months later (accidentally; I thought I was putting on Bonbons a la Vanille) and... it is so good. I’m not sure if the scent needed to mature (I’m not usually a huge believer in that with EDP, it’s definitely a thing with oils), or my nose changed - but if you tried this and smelled sour milk, dry coming back to it a few months later. It’s now a love!

I really, really wanted to love this, but alas...this smells like sour custard on my skin. I'm letting it macerate for a month or so before trying it again, because I want to give it a fair shot!

this is nasty lol. looking at the notes youd think id be good but something in there doesnt agree with my nose. i had to take it off. maybe its the custard? idk but it smells weird

I can see how it could be a beautiful fragrance on a right skin. My skin doesn't do well with the milk note, on me the milk appears as a "milk-gone-bad" smell, so it's a no for me
