Crema di Lime e Cognac

One of my favorites by Kyse, which is saying a lot since I like almost everything by her. It’s not like anything I’ve smelled, it’s fresh and sweet but also deep and green/woody at the same time.

I agree with the reviewer below me: this is definitely more Crema di Lime than Cognac - not that I'm complaining, but it's a real mystery to me why cognac is voted the most prominent note! Maybe it's a difference in batches, Kyse's offerings always have such a homemade vibe after all (which is not a negative comment - it's part of the charm of these slightly outrageous, delicious, fun gourmands). Also, I am getting getting quite a lot of the green bamboo/hay accord, especially in the opening, so I might just be misinterpreting what I'm smelling. Anyway, this sample is another success for me (or for Kyse, depending on how you look at it). I haven't quite fallen in love with it as much as I have with some of my other samples, but I think I might get there in the end: this one is a bit less of an all-out sweet gourmand, just a little more gentle and restrained, so it figures that my reaction follows suit. And it's still very delicious! Fresh bright lime with a dollop of cream and a definite green character at first, and then it gradually gets sweeter and more powdery - the drydown is vanillic and very nice, and it keeps going strong all day. A perfect companion for the current season of early fall for anyone with a sweet tooth and a predilection for citrus gourmands!

My first try of several from Kyse Perfumes, Crema di Lime e Cognac mostly lives up its name, at least in the "creamy lime" first portion of the name. It's certainly a sweet, creamy lime concoction that hints at some aspects of boozy but it's not that boozy to my nose. Season-wise, this is refreshing enough for summer but bold enough for winter, not a superlative performer by any means but the juice is surely dense and has good longevity, at least on my skin. I doubt I'd ever spring for a bottle of this specifically (despite the brand's generally-modest pricing of $52 for 60ml) since it doesn't quite work on my skin but I like the idea and look forward to trying Terri's other creations. 7 out of 10

First and foremost this is a boozy gourmand. A delicious cocktail. There is nothing sharp about this lime. There is obvious creaminess and lots of booze. This is sweet but doesn't get cloying because of the bamboo and hay notes. I do enjoy that soft green element and think it's a very important part of this composition. It smells so delicious though that someone might be tempted to nibble me lol. I do wish that the lime had lasted longer than half an hour but that's the nature of the note. Moderate silage and longevity

It reminds me of Key Lime Pie with a Cognac chaser. My chemistry allowed me to love the first stages of the spritz and the first 20 minutes of wear. I'm getting realistic lime cream with booze in the background. The dry down, however is not as exciting as it is fading into musk. As a long time collector of gourmand lemon and lime scents, I am impressed. Will treasure my 6ml and may even purchase again.

Opening kinda scared me off as the cognac note was very strong and pulled a little aftershave-like on me, but it dried down to a pleasant creamy lime smell with the cognac note in the background. I wonder if it would layer well with a coconut fragrance.

This smells just like noodle and boo baby wash and shampoo..which i love for nostalgia.

I was so disappointed with this one. But I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to test it (manufacturer spray sample), because it was really close to being a blind buy based on my notes, reviews, and my previous experience with the house. But this one just falls SO short of my expectations. I tested it four different times over a few months, to make sure that I felt the same, and I still feel the same. On first spray, this is a chemical, nasty, burning, toxic blast. Maybe that's supposed to be the booze that everyone seems to be voting. If so, I don't know what kind of booze you've been drinking, but I'm going to guess it's not top shelf! The first couple of tries, it was a scrubber, but since I'm tenacious, I kept trying to give it a chance. The last time I tried it, this week, I sprayed it and tried to forget it. Fortunately the silage isn't that great, and sitting in front of a fan helps to dissappate the scent so it is bearable as I study. After an hour, I am reminded of the super cheap dollar store lotions that try to imitate Bath and Bodyworks. This would have been a while back before dollar store lotions actually got pretty good. This was back when they smelled nasty. Another hour or so, I can finally begin to see where the nose was going with this one, I get some creamy lime sort of mess in a cloud of headache. It's still utterly unpleasant, but would be passable for $1. I love this house. I've been extremely impressed with almost everything they've produced. And I will readily allow that my sample might be bad. It came from another Fragrantican, not directly to me from Kyse, so who knows. But based on this sample, I am exceedingly glad I didn't blind buy this one. I'm curious about the votes and comments, because I do NOT share the same experience . . . Which is why I allow that my sample might not be good. Buyer beware!

You have to REALLY love cognac - this note was so strong that it overpowered everything else for me, and felt like smelling a bottle of straight up alcohol. I enjoy a good boozy note, but this was just too overwhelming for my personal taste - the sweetness from any of the other notes were drowned out, and it came off as very bitter and deep. Definitely leans masculine - I agree with an earlier review that this smells like aftershave. I was disappointed, as I was hoping for something more like a boozy key lime pie. Fortunately Kyse has amazingly-priced samples on their site, so order one first if you're curious about it - not safe for a blind buy of the full bottle!

This one ended up being less gourmand than I had hoped. I had high expectations because I love almost everything else I've tried from Kyse, but there's some weird dry woody note that my nose just can't get past in this one. It does smell a boozy and a little limey, but sadly it's not a love for me, and it's barely a like. Not something I find full bottle worthy.

Gasoline. Smells of strong gasoline with lime in the background, fades within minutes to a skin scent that smells of powdery lime. Not for me what so ever. Didn't work with my chemistry and I loathe the smell of this. Bleh.

Whatever is trying to be cognac here is strongly off-putting and overwhelms the lime and cream. Not feminine nor gourmand. Wide miss for me, and I generally love alcohol and lime notes.

Creamy but dry. Only after it fully develops does it sweeten and soften some. Longevity, sadly, about like a single drink.

I am testing this as part of a sampler pack I was kindly gifted by Kyse. Someone looking at the scent pyramid, and bearing in mind it is a minimalistic flat pack one, I thought, no problem, I will dive right in and douse myself a little, on an overcast summer day, what better to indulge in than a creamy lime cocktail. The first minutes of getting to terms with this fragrance were disconcerting. I had an instant association with "hay sauna" or "spa" but found it strange, so I stuck my wrist under my friend's nose and she came up with a similar thing that it reminded her of. So let's say, first impression was distinctly woody, as in warmed up wooden sauna, with hay and some lime oil thrown in. Way less gourmand than I had expected. But wait... after half an hour or so, the scent turns much softer and sweeter, and finally, later on, I can sniff out the boozy note too. I have to say I didn't care too much about the opening phase, my friend and I looked at each other saying that while this would be pleasant as a spa room fragrance, it seemed odd as something for a person to spray yourself with. However things change dramatically latest after a couple of hours. Sad thing is that by then, projection is rather subtle and you have to sniff close by to catch a whiff. I would agree with another reviewer who said there could be some other wood in this, sandalwood or something. What's also fascinating for me is that there seems to be almost a common DNA in Kyse fragrances... I would probably call it "the woody warm thing", can't put my finger on it, but it's something I really enjoy in them (OK, it probably isn't present in Framboise Nue, which I didn't enjoy at all). Terreno Dolce, Bois de Santal and Crema di Lime e Cognac might do well in a triple pack aimed at the warm woody type lovers!

Am I seriously the only one smelling mint in this? Maybe my nose is crazy! This is a lovely mojito scent. I get a boozy intro of lime that fades to a vanilla mint. I'd been wanting a good vanilla mint so I'm excited by this. =-=-=-= In the cooler airy the muskier notes of hay and cognac are strong, especially in the opening. Once I got moving around and warmed up this bloomed to a coconut cream with lime {Put the lime in the coconut . . ). I think I like it better in the summer. The vanilla coconut cream is really remarkable and long lasting.

Crema di Lime e Cognac is a sweet gourmand with prominent boozy notes and a lemony opening. It could be cognac as stated, but even whiskey or rum. It's sweet, deep and warming. In the base notes I distinctly smell sandalwood, rich and brown although it is not listed. This fragrance reminds me somewhat of Dolcelicir by L'erbolario, but they are definitely not identical. It's not all that complex but my sweet tooth likes it. I imagine this scent would work nicely in a shower gel or body lotion.

Too much like aftershave for my taste. It has some bracing lime but the boozy cognac overpowered. Didn't get so much cream.
