Frangipane al Pistacchio

This fragrance is truly surprising. It opens up literal pistachio/almond extract in the way that pistachio gelato always tastes like amaretto gelato with pistachio chunks in it. The opening is very nutty, but then there is a bright fruity smell that starts to make itself known. At first, I couldn't tell what the fruit was that I was smelling... then I realized that this was the almond and heliotrope playing the cherry games they like to play. That benzaldehyde molecule they have in common tends to play tricks on the nose and almond muddles with cherry. I absolutely enjoy it! My favorite flavor profile is cherry amaretto, so I'm incredibly biased. The almond/cherry accord is so bright here that it can border on the verge of synthetic smelling - like candy, not like plastic. I can see myself layering this with Xerjoff Casamorati Italica. I think the candy-like vibe would uplift the quite hyperrealistic vibe of Italica (which I can't decide whether to keep or declutter). Italica sounded like my fragrance dream in the flesh, but I was missing a little bit of something... including projection, haha. I'll give an update when I try it one of these days.

Omg FINALLY!!! A true PHOTOREALISTIC pistachio!!! When I think of pistachio in perfume - THIS is what I'm looking for!! I've been hunting for the pertfect pistachio frag for months. There is just the right amount of subtle sweetness from the vanilla and whipped cream, but the nutty tones are the most dominant. It's not green or soapy at all - it's a dry pistachio with a hint of sweetness. It's perfectly balanced. The sandalwood is the perfect finishing touch! Terri NAILED the assignment. The performance is pretty good as well - moderate wear and projection. You'll get a solid 3 hours before it begins to fade. I'm so happy I finally found the perfect pistachio perfume 🥹 Rating: 9/10

All the fragrances that claimed to be pistachio scents had been a major disappointment. Most of them were blended with other notes to make the scent feel more complex but for me that only muddied the pistachio and often became nauseating. I had been on the search for a fragrance that smelled like an actual pistachio dessert and this is exactly that. It gives Baskin Robbins Pistachio ice cream. Of course, pistachios themselves do not have much of a scent so this is closer to artificial pistachio flavoring than the actual nut but that's exactly the pistachio scent I've come to associate with pistachio desserts.

Smells like a specific type of sugar cookie you get at school parties, the bigger ones at Walmart with the huge sugar crystals on top. I say specific because there is an underlying fruitiness to these cookie that I can never put my finger on. But then again maybe I don’t know what pistachio smells like! It also had a cinnamon note that came out to play for like 10 minutes, I think that was the sandalwood. No floral notes smelt in this one. It’s a yummy smell. My sister and I immediately bought a full size today!

This is a wild ride on me. Perfect sweet cold ice cream in the bottle, then immediately on my skin goes a bit hard and sour, the "copper pennies" scent others have described. After half an hour or so, then there's finally the warm nutty pistachio, with bottom notes of butter and spice. I don't mind waiting for Terri's photorealistic fragrances, though!

a beautifully nutty pistachio forward opening with prominent whipped cream notes and sugary vanilla. Dries down to a creamy slightly floral vanilla with almond nuttiness. The pistachio isn’t apparent all the way through but I think the almond allows enough nuttiness to still be enjoyable.

This is positively beautiful. I had no idea pistachios could smell so wonderful, but combining them with these notes really makes a masterpiece! I just wish it lasted longer.

This is heavy on the pistachio and sweet almond. If you're a fan of either, you will love this. I smell so delicious and it reminds me of ice cream.

Pistachio is all the rage lately and I'm looking for a great pistachio fragrance. I went and smelled Kayali's new Yum Pistachio at Sephora and the pistachio at the top is nice but fleeting. Overall Kayali's is too sweet and make me sick to wear. THIS Kyse fragrance, is a pistachio BOMB at the opening (unfortunately that note does fade too, but I feel like it lasted longer than Kayali's) and then there is a lot of almond extract. It's very very nutty - I almost detect peanut and hazelnut. It's sweet and gourmand but not overly so. It's like the baking aisle or the gelateria. It smells like you're wearing ingredients. My kids said it smells like "Trader Joe's Windmill Cookies" (an almond cookie). Unfortunately, I had the same experience as other reviewers and the final base notes don't agree with my skin chemistry at all. Someone else said like copper pennies and I'd agree. Strange! If the dry down works for you (I'd sample first), I would recommend this if you are nostalgic about almond-y baked goods (with a hint of pistachio), and you love realistic nutty gourmand fragrances.

I am doing review on cream i purchased; the opening is great its real nutty pistacchio, foody, gourmand. Nothing like girl of now- this is perfume. As it dries down I start smelling sthg like almond cherry!? I dont know why. But this is how I would imagine Tom Fords lost cherry smell like (btw I dont like the perfume at all). The only dissapointing for me its projection and sillage. Kyse perfumes are vey skin scents, does not project much. Lasting power is ok but i expect more from indie house. I will consider to purchase perfume to try sillage. Btw I have cream coco ala vaniglia and this project like crazy! My clothes and bed sheets smells like coco ala vaniglia.

The beginning smells exactly like pistachio pudding it is delicious. But almost immediately it begins to dry down to this powdery almost synthetic vanilla that reminds me of the smell of rubber bath ducks. I love the opening so much I would almost still buy it. I just wish they’d change their bottles they’re so cheap looking. Also why do they have frangipani in the name? I love the scent of real frangipani flowers that's why I tried this and it's not even in the notes.

ok, obsessed with this scent. so creamy, a realistic pistachio ice cream type scent that melds into the skin and then hits you with a sweet almond extract moment. leaving room for nuance, however, like others have mentioned, i do get a a strange mineral-metallic afterthought once it' been sitting on my skin for a while. almost like talc powder? regardless, that's probably the only thing standing in the way of me getting a FB, but can't wait to try more from Kyse!

I have a love-hate relationship with this perfume. I love the prominence of the pistachio and the overall smell reminds me of marzipan; I feel like I'm enjoying an expensive, rich pastry in an upscale bakery. On the other hand, the scent is very thick and syrupy sweet, and I'm not a fan of heavily sweet fragrances. It is a very unique gourmand though.

Perfect pistachio ice cream in the beginning. Transitions to this slightly rubbery soft floral almond. After about an hour or two though it dries down to this faint cigarette smell on my skin. I don’t hate it but it’s disappointing considering how good it is in the beginning.

I've sampled Kyse scents since the beginning and they just keep getting better. The initial burst of pistachio here is like boxed pudding, yummy but short lasting.

When you smell through the bottle, you get delicious pistachio. When you first apply to your skin, you get delicious pistachio. However, after only a few minutes, the pistachio goes away completely and almost the entire duration of the fragrance is powdery floral. I thought I was going to love this when I smelled through the bottle and first applied, but was so disappointed in how quickly the pistachio faded. It's one of the quickest note fades I've ever seen in fragrance, it's right there in the same category with Death & Floral's Vienna Waits For You. In that one, the bready chocolate faded into baby powder within minutes, and with this one, the pistachio fades almost immediately into powdery floral. So disappointed that I won't be able to enjoy this for summer. I was wanting a salty pistachio scent and I truly thought this was it at first. But instead it is a powdery floral. I can't do powdery scents so I will not be able to enjoy this. Sample before you blind buy a full-sized bottle!

@AlexLemonIncense just a heads up (for anyone reading), it doesn't have frangipani in the name; it's frangipanE, which is the name for an almond based cream mixture, i understand the confusion though as frangipani is a more common fragrance note! onto my actual review of the scent: i've never detected true pistachio nuttiness from any scents before until this one, so lots of props for the realism unfortunately for me, equally present is a cherry-dominant almond scent otherwise, the whipped creaminess is there and it doesn't turn badly on my skin, but i personally can't get into that cherry-almond vibe

355 Well this is an absolutely amazing bitter almond vanilla custard scent. Like steamed milk with almond syrup. So intense and delicious! If it were not for the dusty metallic note that appears in dry-down here and in many other Kyse fragrances, I would be getting a FB. Unfortunately, after 30 minutes, this unpleasant note appears and has stopped me from purchasing a FB from Kyse. 9/10-It's excellent, but Kyse, please figure out what that unpleasant note is at dry-down, which I smell in all your products, some more and some less so.

Love at first sniff an all time favorite for like 3 minutes. The dry down is horrible! If anyone knows a scent that holds the opening on dry down let me know. I was so stoked when I first smelled it but was so deeply disappointed and sad when it dried, nothing like the opening. All the sweetness leaves completely.

I don’t smell much sweetness in this and I definitely don’t get nutty ice cream. Which I DO get from the Kayali pistachio perfume. I enjoy nutty perfumes but this one made me realise I like sweet nutty perfumes. This is extremely nutty and that’s basically it. No sweetness. Doesn’t last long either. Not for me.

You’re hit with a warm and creamy pistachio that has just the right amount of sweetness. Sadly, once it dries down it turns sour. It’s either the almond or the pistachio. It smells absolutely awful with my chemistry. I am so disappointed about this one! Longevity lasts forever with this one, of course!

mr kipling battenburg cake. that is EXACTLY how this smells. i don't get any pistachio at all. just sugar, vanilla and then definitely sponge cake & marzipan but it's not listed here. it does smell good but i just don't like it on me, don't think i could wear this there's just something a bit off.

It starts out great. Pistachio and whip cream. I wish this is what Kayali Pistachio would have been. But then it takes a turn into something that smells off. A sick powdery smell. Luckily it doesn’t have a lot of sillage and longevity on me.

I bought a sample from lucky scent so excited for a photo realistic pistachio and almond scent. It started out SO GOOD. The initial smell is just of a sweet Italian bakery, warm, inviting and very powerful. I swear I almost jumped onto lucky scent to buy the full bottle. But as it sat on my skin a familiar thing started happening with so many gourmands on my skin. Just like wiff of waffle cone, quickly I noticed a sickly powder and plastic smell replace the buttery sweetness. It smells like an old nostalgic scented plastic toy from the 90s. Dusty, artificial, plastic, and distant. Don't blind buy. It might smell great on you but when it sat on my skin it smells just rank.

smells just like almond/frangipane croissant but like a kind of cheap one from the grocery store, but in a good way. the almond is nutty and kind of medicinal like almond extract, i like it! my main issue is that there's something plastic-y sitting on top of that smell. and the warmth of the fragrance makes that plasticyness worse. also i get that its gourmand but it's like toooo warm like it's not cozy warm it feels like full blown heat radiating 😭 if it wasn't for all that i wud b open to wearing this 💔 letdown

When you first put this on, it's a beautiful marzipan almond extract bomb. It's slightly cloying, but in a purposeful way that I loved. As a gourmand girly, I'm always looking for that perfect pistachio scent. Unfortunately, the dry down went really weird... like plastic pool toys and burnt rubber mixed with cherry jam. You lose the nutty pistachio/almond almost immediately and what I was left with was not pleasant.

Cold, smooth, pistachio ice cream, right out the gate. Lovely, sweet and nutty. However, within 20 seconds, it becomes something slightly different that I’m not a big fan of. It has a note to it that reminds me of coconut oil, which I don’t love. I love the almond note here, but there’s something about it that I just can’t get on board with. Update: got so weird I had to scrub it off

I agree with user cherubi rubi that there’s something weirdly metallic and off-putting lurking in this scent. I didn’t detect it in Delizia di Marshmallow but I smell it in this. That metallic thing combines with the other notes to create a smell that, to me, evokes pistachio candies melted in a hot car. Wish I loved it.

Opens SO LOVELY like a pistachio almond croissant, then quickly turns into a certain bitterness that I find in the dry-down of a lot of indie perfumes unfortunately. I’d love to figure out where that bitterness comes from, it’s so disappointing every time a gorgeously unique perfume fades into it

I really wish this stayed smelling like the opening. It starts off like a perfect pistachio cookie and then quickly becomes, on my skin at least, what I can only explain as the cheapest pistachio car air freshener that you can find.

I wanted so badly to love this fragrance. The opening is the most delicious pistachio scent like a sweetened pistachio spread with a touch of salt. I was heartbroken to find out the dry down is powdery and bitter on me.

Medicinal almond extract. Yeesh, no thank you. Not getting pistachio at all. Turns play-dohy after several minutes.

New review: got a sample of this with my order. It’s delicious!!!!!!! I think I got a bad batch before. So if it smells off on you: contact Kyse. I didn’t because it’s been a year now. I only just got the sample. Nutty, vanilla, lovelyness. Bit boozy too in the opening. Fantastic fragrance! Former review. Turns sour / bitter / plastic on me. A scrubber. When I spray it at first it is the most delicious pistachio almond cookie and cream. After 20 seconds it turns horrible on my clothes and skin, so body chemistry wasn’t the main factor. I even sprayed it on a clean towel to see if it was my body. It wasn’t. It turns into the most nasty scent I’ve ever experienced and I have to change and shower. Too bad.

The opening is perfection. A creamy, dreamy pistachio ice cream with hints a lovely nutty almond. However after about 45 Mins it became very unappealing to me with a strange metallic base not that made me want to gag. I wanted to love this so much. I've tried it several times on skin & clothes. It always dries down to smell like a bag of copper pennies

gorgeous marzipan for about 60 seconds, then unfortunately turns to synthetic plastic. My first kyse fragrance, so I’ve been hesitant to try more. I’ve given up finding a pistachio fragrance in general, as it seems to be a hard one to nail.

Like everyone else, it opens wonderfully, but I get the faint cigarette/metallic smell after an hour. I've solved the mystery of why that happens with this particular perfume from my failures in perfume-making. The perfume base used in this is SD40-B alcohol, which has a strong metallic scent that will linger for days if you spill it. I'm confident that the fragrance used in this is purely the 'Pistachio Macaron' fragrance oil from various candle supply shops. I have this oil and the smell is identical. SD40-B alcohol does not work well with pure gourmand fragrance oils. The opening will be incredible, but the odor of SD40-B alcohol will push through on the dry down.

Kyse Frangipane al Pistacchio smells exactly like a crumbly butter cookie or biscuit baked with pistachio and almond bits inside or with a nutty pistachio concentrate for flavor. Down to the exact sweetness and texture. Whipped cream maybe smeared on top while it’s still hot. It opens strong then dies down to a soft powdery, nutty woodiness. Update: I looked up the translation in Aug 2025 and Frangipane is actually the name of the pastry. It's a tart with a buttery crust and almond custard. I feel so late but it looks exactly like I described this and that is so affirming lol. My nose works!

I get loads of pistachio and almonds crushed with honey and frangipani flowers. I love this fragrance. If you do not care for florals, do not worry, this is heavy on pistachio. It smells like pistachio ice cream with frangipani flowers on the side as garnish on a sandalwood base. I pick up a honey note in here too. This perfume is beautiful. I do detect some brightness that I think is the cherry note others have commented on below. It helps keep the scent uplifted and doesn't allow the sweetness to weight it down too much. This is a lovely scent.

a quick review...on me i can smell the pistachio (which i love)...and the almond (which i don't). i guess i should have considered that when i bought it and the two notes are quite predominant but i'm not loving it. i'm going to try layering with a pistachio body cream or butter to see if that helps. i'm not sure if anyone else has this issue and/or if it just has to do with my chemistry. i generally stay away from almond scents so this is probably why this is my first time encountering this. hoping the layering works. and hope this helps.

Realistic almondy pistachio even more foodie than the LM pistachio. Extremely linear, I would love this as a candle but I like to wear gourmands that are a touch less "straight food smell" . very on point. Also I wish the bottles would have a upgraded packaging and graphics/font to elevate the sophistication of the perfumers talent and command the price tag; the labels currently are too cutesy, and not cohesive, it looks quite cheap when in actuality it's good quality.

first spray is the most additive feminine marzipan with a backround of the most realistic nutty note i’ve ever smelled in life it actually smells like a pistachio, no joke 60 seconds later smells like pink chalk. not good. it takes a while but once it settles it smells like a clean laundry scent , but not detergent scent, more like diva wash , iykyk. less perfumey than diva wash but a feminine clean scent , i got a sample and won’t be buying the full size

Smells like a marzipan type dessert made with pistachios and almonds that got freezer burn, and whipped cream that was stored without a lid next to the bell peppers in the fridge and it soaked some of the pepper flavor. Also blended in a blender that is fixing to burn out so it smells and tastes a bit sweet but also a bit like green peppers and hot plastic. Wtfbro

Starts off with almond extract and turns into a crushed pistachio and almond crusted flakey pastry with thin layer of tart cherry filling sprinkled with rock sugar, and yet wearable as a perfume. It shares notes with Cheirosa 79 (of which I am not a fan and find it super cheap and cloying), this is the elevated, graduated and bougie version of that.

I want to echo what everyone else has said - this is a fantastic pistachio ice cream fragrance for about five minutes. It then turns into a sour/metallic almond (popcorn?) accord with little projection. Finally, the bottles/label/packaging need a lot of work.

I wanted to love this so much but after a beautiful and yummy two second opening, it instantly dried down into this stale marshmallow/dusty antique book smell that remained for the next half hour which was the duration of its life apparently.

I don’t get why there’s a lot of criticism of this one. To me, it’s a gorgeous pistachio, with both the ice cream aspect and the bag of roasted salted pistachios aspect. The pistachio in Lancôme Roses Berberanza is similar to this one.

My Number 3 from Kyle - love it! Very nutty and sweet. Pistachio done right! (Not like something else that supposed to smell like pistachio, but it doesn't :))
