Glace à la Fleur d'Oranger

Quick first impression will come back later to update once worn a few times. This opens with a bitter green / orange floral accord so I believe there is neroli here in a fair size dose mixed with the orange blossom. It feels extremely natural and not very sweet at all to start with, so Kyse fans might at first be left asking “where is the deliciousness I’m expecting from Kyse?” My answer to that “be patient”. It’s only been on my skin an hour but I can feel sweet powdery notes gently rising up, it feels like an iris and vanilla combination to me. The bitterness of neroli actually passes fairly quickly but if you are averse to bitter notes this may put you off. I think this would suit fragrance lovers that seek a floral gourmand (fleurmand) that is not too sweet. If you enjoy Love Don’t Be Shy but wish it was a bit less sweet and more natural smelling this could be for you, not to mention your bank balance will thank you! I also think it’s comparable to the new Parfums De Marly Oriana but the Kyse is much more about the orange blossom and starts out bitter green, it may also not get as sweet but I’ve yet to confirm that. So far it’s a huge thumbs up from me 👍🏼

Glace a la Fleur d'Oranger begins with a green bitterness, like biting into the peel of some unripe citrus fruit. Unsettling at first, but as I've learned with Kyse's other fragrances, the real magic begins after the juice has had several minutes to warm and settle on the skin - patience is key! The bitterness slowly ebbs away as sweet vanilla notes creep in. Fragrant orange blossom becomes more pronounced, holding onto just a liiiiittle bit of that green neroli bite from the opening to keep it from being overly sweet. After about 15 minutes, vanilla ice cream takes a more dominant role, balanced by the floral orange blossom and gentle musk. This is one of Kyse's less sugary scents, at least compared to the uber-gourmand Delizia di Marshmallow and Macarons. It is still a sweet fragrance, but the floral notes keep it from becoming too rich and heavy. Those not scared off by the strong bitter opening may find themselves pleasantly surprised at how creamy and delightful this perfume is. As to be expected from Kyse, Glace boasts impressive longevity. Definitely has turned into one of those "can't stop sniffing myself" perfumes. A lovely scent for spring!

I had a Kyse haul recently and am just getting around to wearing this one today...BIG LOVE! Yes, it's quite bitter in the initial blast, but just you wait, this is just divine. And potent! As it began to dry down it started to settle in and become just gorgeously floral but not over-the-top sweet. I decided to give myself a full dose, as I'd only applied one test spray on my wrist. I like to ask my 8 year-old son what he thinks of my perfumes. "Mmmm, caramel and flowers," he said. So I thought, sure why not? So then I layered on Kyse Douceur Brulee in order to actually add more caramel and oh my Heaven am I swooning! I'm excited to experiment with other Kyse layering combos with this one, including Delizia di Marshmallow and Gateau de Carnaval. If you are a gourmand lover, and if you love Love Don't be Shy, Oriana, or anything orange blossom, you should definitely sample this one!

This is BEAUTIFUL!!! I have this Orange Blossom one on one hand, Gardenia Sucre on that same hand's wrist and the other hand has Frangipane Pistachio and these are my 3 favorites from this house. And they actually layer well together. I'll be buying full 2 oz bottles of all 3. I already have Cocco Vaniglia n I love it although it doesn't last too long but that seems to be the deal with any And all coconut based frags unless it's Mancera or some CSPs. And this orange blossom one has excellent sillage. So do the other 2 I have on also. And this is from the 3 (?) ML dabbers which is the worst way to try fragrances but it was the most budget friendly option. I LOVE this orange blossom one. I can't compare it to LDBS bc I've never smelled it, I've never smelled any of those mentioned in the "Reminds Me Of".

I've been waiting for this one to come out since earlier in the year. I was very excited by the idea of a natural neroli orange blossom with the gourmand heart that Terri does so well. I really like the best of both worlds progression...a very natural and sharp neroli opening followed by a marshmallow drydown and finally a milky vanilla that lasted on me for nearly 24 hours! Not a huge projector but I was getting wafts all day...and in the middle of the night when I woke up...by which time I had to remind myself what it was as I was mainly getting vanilla ice cream :). It is definitely different to other Kyse perfumes...but different in a good way...and for those who prefer out and out gourmands then I believe a candy floss scent may be out next!

I love this one! It's like a warm and creamy orange blossom ice cream. It also has an airy, green vibe to it. It's not a dense and thick orange blossom like LDBS. After sampling, it was definitely full bottle worthy for me. If you love orange blossom, you definitely need to try this one!

This smells amazing and the performance is phenomenal. What a good idea, to combine orange blossom with gourmand vanilla. It's delicious and dreamy and it really lasts all day. 10 hours after I sprayed it, I was still smelling it very strongly. I love it!

I agree with the comparisons to Kilian LDBS, but I actually like this one a little more as the floral notes are stronger and balance out the gourmand notes. Heavenly!!

Orange blossom heaven!!! So creamy! Love at first sniff!

Oddly enough, the opening reminded me of Carnal Flower. The only overlapping notes I see are orange blossom and musk. It was very fresh, almost green, to the point where I was like, where is the glace? But, since it reminded me of Carnal Flower, I thought maybe I had to wait for the sweetness to develop on my skin, and I was right. I started writing this review before looking at other reviews below, and I see that I am not the only one to have experienced this. This is a lovely summer scent. Slightly reminiscent of sunscreen, but without the coconut. I love orange blossom, and I think it works really well with the ice cream, vanilla, and musk to make it more gourmand, but this is one of the least gourmand offerings I've tried from Kyse. Definitely heavier on the florals than some others I've tried. Still, if you like orange blossom, and are a fan of sweeter perfumes, but not too sweet, this one is worth checking out. I'm actually surprised by the low score, but I have a feeling people were not patient enough to get past the opening.

What a delight. This is extremely similar to Love Don't Be Shy, but for some reason I like this fragrance better. I think it hits heavier with the floral notes and musk compared to the marshmallowy sweetness of LDBS. This is a strong, sweet orange blossom with a hint of powder. Playful and feminine.

Of about 13 of her scents so far this is the first by Kyse that wasn’t a hit for me. I’m not taking anything from her though, I’m reminded often of how florals are usually not my vibe and this one is very floral. The initial spray almost choked me out. Loud and almost spicy. Like others have said, the dry down is better, but still not for me. Not really into musk either. If you like florals you will love this. I admit it is still pretty and sweet, but I won’t wear it and probably give it away.

Got this scent in the body cream. It is not at all what I expected. It smells aggressively green, like sticking your nose into a bag of fresh-cut flower stems or something like that. There is nothing orange blossom or ice cream about it. I see in some reviews below that the bitter green opening dissipates within 15 minutes or so to reveal the orange blossom ice cream scent and maybe that transformation is better or more pronounced in the EDP version than it is in the body cream, because I applied the cream half an hour ago and I can still mostly smell green with the tiniest bit of sweetness peeking through. Maybe this will continue to smell better with time, but a green scent is just not something I want to smell in my body lotion/cream. The body cream formula feels nice on the skin though. I'll be selling this. Edit: after an hour or more, at least for the body cream, the scent remained very green and then started to fade away.

This opens with a strong punch of bitter floral that is green and earthy. That bitterness carries through the rest of the fragrance, but turns into what almost resembles the acidic inside an orange rind. Not citrusy or fruity, not floral - just the bitter, powdery, pulpy coating on the inside of the rind. It eventually does turn a bit floral, but it's still very green and acidic. The creamy vanilla does soften and sweeten it some, and the bitterness tones down the more time passes - but the bitter is still too acidic for my taste, even after it mellows. So many love this blend, and I think you might enjoy it if you love complex or unusual fragrances. For me, I prefer a true-to-life orange blossom - more sweet/floral, and less bitter/earth. P.S. There is some sort of corn chip-type note in here that I can't put my finger on, but it's the second of my Kyse samples that smells this way so I'm not sure what that means?

This stuff literally smells bad. I gasped when I opened it and it hit my nose because I just really wasn't expecting that. I can see how people might like it in the way some people like the smell of gasoline or rubbing alcohol. It smells floral in the worst way. It's too realistic of a floral to actually be enjoyable like it smells like orange blossom just sprayed with pesticides. Maybe if you love florals this might be a great new discovery for you but if you like gourmands, absolutely not.

This smells EXACTLY like potpourri. Ya know, the dried flowers and spices that our grandmas use to put in a bowl in their bathrooms for decoration? This smells like a flower that has been sitting in the attic for a decade. I don’t smell any orange or vanilla or even musk. Just stinky flowers. Not a safe blind buy. Longevity is incredible, sadly! I took a shower and I still smell this!

I received a free sample of this with a recent order of 2ml samples from Kyse. Just some quick initial thoughts as I just did a little spritz on my hand, this immediately made me think of expensive tanning lotion. That's not a bad thing at all, just that this type of fragrance isn't what I'd normally choose for myself, but I'm pleased to have received it - it's fun to try out something different than my usual. When the weather warms again, I plan on giving this a proper test wear (and review update), as I imagine some heat and humidity will make this a really delightful and sultry fragrance.

I have this in the edp and body cream in the round black 🏒 hockey puck-esque container. It opens very green and neroli heavy but on me it does calm down and sweeten up into a nice orange blossom ice cream scent. The opening reads more orange blossom 'stems and leaves' than sweet floral and I do wish it was a bit creamier. The body cream layers beautifully with the edp, 7 Virtues Orange Blossom (dc'd 😔), TF Neroli Portofino, or Kilian LDBS. Admittedly, I rarely reach for it due to the very green opening but I end up enjoying it when I do wear it.

Oh my goodness! I didn't order it, it was added to my package as a sample gift (this one and Zucchero Filato - my second favorite to date). At first I didn't like it, but in 2 minutes.. OMG, I couldn't take my nose off of my hand :) So sweet, but with green elements and some depth, creamy, vanillic. I love it.. FB worthy for sure!

Very close to Killian LDBS, but I would be able to tell them apart.
