Macarons

I do absolutely love it! It is my favourite Kyse scent and overall, one of my favourites from solid collection of gourmand scents. This is funny thing to say since don't even like eating marzipan nor I'm a sworn cherry perfume fan. Thus I would probably not have gotten myself, but luckily I got a sample of Macarons with my order. This is my lesson to be more open minded. This is just a delicious, magical fruity custard goodness. This scent is like music, like the most pretty pastel macarons! One could compare them to Buontalenti by Profumo di Firenze or Glaze Exstazy by Simone Andreoli (or even Leisure In Paradise?), but Macarons is just way better than those two scents, a perfect pretty concoction. It is like a dream come true! Yes, there is a slight trace of strange side note, but barely noticeable, especially if you allow the scent to macerate a little. It does not bother me at all, there are other indie brands which are super popular and have way more prominent side notes. Macarons is also comparable to Yum Boujee Marshallow in a sense, only more gourmand and much stronger performance. Indeed, performance is exceptional and the deliciousnesy does not fade/settle down to some boring base notes, it's very consistent. A must have for sure at least for me, and for you - must try, event if you like me aren't crazy for marzipan or cherry. An incredible gourmand creation, cannot hype it enough ❤️❤️🤤

I ordered Kyse Frangipane al pistacchio and a small bottle of macaron and some others just to test. I sprayed on Macarons for the first time this morning and thought it was ok but nothing special, mostly just a blast of cotton candy-esque sweetness. But the more I've worn this all day I've been shocked to recognize this as pretty much a dupe to BR540 to my nose! Simply amazing because I hadn't heard of it touted as such. The only difference to my nose is occasional whiffs of a cherry medicinal quality which I adore. Better than BR540 because of this cherry edge. Very long lasting like BR540 as well. I'm in bed now and still smell the sweet wafts strongly after 12+ hours. I wasn't expecting this, I don't smell macarons per se but I am loving this. In.fact just as I typed that I smelled yet a new layer of whipped cream that I hadn't yet smelled. Yum!!! 6/21/25. Came back to edit this 2 years later as I had a hankering for my Kyse samples. Wow it's so much better now. The BR540 note I described below is completely gone and in its place is stronger cherry almond. Lasts so long too, I get wants all day and the next morning I still smelled it strong on my robe from the previous day.

My sample has been sitting for a few years now. I remember the original drydown when I first got it being funky and disappointing. Now that it's had time to macerate I decided to revisit it. What a difference! Similar opening both times, I get cherry upfront for the first couple minutes, which turns into an herbal medicinal cherry scent for a little bit. Think cough syrup or lozenges 🤢 Once the medicinal note passes it's a fluffy chiffon cake with a single drop of cherry flavor added to the batter. It's sweet, but not cloyingly so. 12 hours later I'm still getting wafts of freshly baked sugar cookies. I'm usually into more heady vintage incense/animalic perfumes but sometimes I want to smell edible and this scratches that itch. Similar to Jasmin Et Macarons (my previous Kyse favorite, now dethroned by this) but without the weird banana note if you sniff it up close. A crowd pleaser for sure.

First of all, whoa — this is so much prettier and wearable than I imagined it would be. This was included with my most recent order and I’m now placing an order for a full bottle, I’m that enamored with it. Fragrance is so personal and subjective, so I can’t fault people for not having as positive of an experience. I can’t say they’re wrong but I can say my experience with this scent is quite the opposite of what others are relaying below. Anyway, I’m not getting medicinal cherry at all and am getting a slightly smoky vibe thanks to the myrrh. It’s a true marzipan-cherry with a touch of heliotrope and overall quite balanced. I don’t get any heavy handed custard or spun sugar. I swear this could be a designer or niche release, very very well done! Feel like I’ve finally found MY cherry scent 🍒😍

Macarons is a new favorite of mine! It smells like sweet, nutty, sugar-coated, almond cookies! I purchased a 6 ml sample and after testing it once, I immediately ordered a full size 100 ml bottle— it’s that good! This projects well and lasts for hours on my skin. I’m so drawn to this scent because on one of my annual family vacations to the Blue Ridge Mountains many years ago I purchased an almond scented shea body butter and this smells extremely similar! I love how the scent transports me back in time. Plus, it smells heavenly! Overall, I’m elated to have added Macarons to my collection. It will be great for layering and is definitely one to try if you enjoy sweet, cherry, almond-like fragrances!

I didn't expect this to be FBW, but it's a huge hit for me. As someone who doesn't like wearing unisex fragrances, this is the perfect reach when I need a break from my ultra femme formulations. It gives me a little spiciness from the myrrh and some tartness from the cherry, but it's all carried in a sweet lactonic-almond package thanks to Kyse's expert blending of this product. And I'm not sure which note is responsible for it, but this also has undertones of 90's exercise mom. Love it.

I’m typically someone who hates cherry notes as they never work on me and they always smell either very medicinal or very artificial to my nose. The cherry in this however is beautifully blended with the marzipan and heliotrope to become an almondy, nutty, tart sweetness. The sugar is pretty apparent in this but not overwhelmingly so and the florals make for a light airiness. This fragrance lasts a long time (6-8 hrs) and I always get compliments so the projection is definitely strong!!

Smells like I just walked in to the most delightful bakery putting out a fresh batch of Marzipan macarons. I've always liked the combination of cherry and almond, and this has a lovely cherry note. Also a yummy vanilla custard note. The soft myrrh note keeps it from being too sweet. Definitely going to have to get a full size bottle of this one. Frangipane al Pistacchio has some similarities to this scent, but macarons soooo much better, imo!

Really love this one. It’s a lovely gourmand marzipan scent with the perfect touch of cherry. I find a lot of other scents with cherry can be kind of too much. It really smells like macarons! Also has that long lasting power. Definitely adding to my full bottle wishlist.

I love this one. It just works on my skin. Cherry and nuts on the opening which dries down to cherry and patchouli on me. So wearable and kinda unique. Lasts so long and stays pretty pronounced all throughout wear. A must try if cherry notes interest you.

This is really beautiful. I didn’t think I got along with this brand after sampling a few and disliking all of them but this agrees with me. The custard is the most prominent note here and makes me want to explore that note more.

This is more beautiful than I honestly expected! On my skin, it presents as a sweeter version of Vanilla Woods from The 7 Virtues. It’s a new favorite!!

I don't know what it is with Kyse fragrances, but I get so much of a cocoa/cocoa butter undertone in a few of them. I don't like the taste or scent of chocolate, so it creates a bit of an issue. However, it does calm down after some time. This one is a bit more masculine than any of the others, but still very unisex. That may be the myrrh (which I actually like as an essential oil). I wouldn't actually wear this as a fragrance. It is a lot more masculine in the dry down on skin than it is freshly sprayed. Freshly sprayed, it is almost like caramel/coconut/chewy sweetness - like a real macaron! For me, this dries down like myrrh and super dark (almost burnt, but in a good way) caramel. Leans wannabe masculine, but with a bit of sweet chewiness that brings it back to midline. Though I really am liking the smell of this, I don't see myself wearing it. I would prefer this as a candle. I think my mom would love it, though (she loves myrrh, frankincense... Bible smells, LOL), so I'm going to give this 3ml spray to her and gift her a full bottle if she really loves it.

A nice nutty scent with a splash of cherry. Was excited to try this because so many people love it but it’s just okay on me. Initially, the almond and cherry scents are quite strong, but after just 10 minutes it fades IMMENSELY to the point where I have to stick my nose straight into my wrist to be able to smell anything. And what I do smell is kind of maybe vaguely cherry but because it’s so faint, it’s hard to give a proper description.

This really is what macarons smell like! Lightly floral in a very becoming way with a base that smells just like custard! Feel the crunchy shell. The sweetness is just right and not too much to be overwhelming, with a nice nuttiness to it. No cherry to my nose, but I’m not complaining!

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it, but I really wanted to try it. So I ordered a sample with my fb of Fichi e Panna. It's warm, sweet, nutty, milky and slightly powdery. This smells really nice on my skin. It's not full bottle worthy for me but I am enjoying sampling it.

This reminds me of a certain perfume I smelled on my mother while growing up. I think they sold it at walmart at least, I remember seeing it there. The cherry sadly doesn't hang around long and I am left with a lovely marzipan scent but I rather enjoy it!

Left in on my shelf for a month, it’s cough syrup for me. Like Lost Cherry, it’s not vibing with me. The custard, I don’t get. Neither do I smell the heliotrope. Macarons is a bit of a misleading name in my opinion. I don’t smell the gourmand macaron. Glad I got a sample and not a whole bottle. If you like Lost Cherry this might be for you. I find there are lots of similarities. Still love Kyse though. Fantastic house.

I really, really don't like this one. Smells nothing like macarons (which is a desert that I love with a passion). I think it's the myrrh, but it smells way too heavy and not sweet at all. Edit: After an almost 2 week rest period, the scent has lightened up a bit and isn't gross like it was at first, but I still don't like it much. It's just ok; would probably have really liked it without the myrrh.

I love gourmands and enjoyed many of Kyse's samples (and plan to buy a few FBs) but I couldn't get down with this one. Almond has to be my favorite scent (and flavor), but this smelled very much like almond extract and less like a baked good. It almost has a bitterness to it. Might be good for layering. It is pretty strong though and I could see it working all throughout the year.

Just a faint sweetness with a whisper of fruit. Unimpressive.

Um, I don't know how this perfume or how most Kyse perfumes are considered likable. I sampled most of them and I tell you, they're so disgustingly medicinal, unnatural and unpleasant smelling to me. They're not even worth me sampling anymore. The quality is so lacking with these gormands, like the quality of the notes are just downgraded versions of themselves. I would understand since the price is so low, but if they're not pleasant, what's the point really. There is only one fragrance from them I found that doesn't have that weird chemical smell and is of decent quality. That's vanilla cedre and I'm not sure that's worth a re-purchase since its just a fairly simple vanilla frag.

Got a 6ml sample of this some months ago, along with a few other Kyse offerings. My first impression was that it was an intriguing "smell" but much too sweet and linear to actually wear. Pretty much all I ever get is tart, medicinal cherry and sticky spun sugar, no matter how long I wait for it to settle and unwind. Tonight, however, I think I've had a breakthrough... When testing I usually put 1 spritz on my inner wrist right up close and then gently wipe my wrists together to distribute the perfume to the other side. This works for me with most perfumes I own, but admittedly it doesn't work for all of them. Macarons is one that requires a different approach. I found that spraying at a distance, so that it only "mists" my skin, really lets the other notes come out to play. It's still sweet but it's no longer overly so, and the custard note is VERY creamy and warm. I get the familiar almond nuttiness of the marzipan, the heliotrope is finally showing it's powdery colors as well, and I can actually detect a hint of myrrh. This has gone from a one trick pony to an interesting work of art. As of now I'm considering getting it in a larger size, but I'll wait out the rest of this sample before I decide. I still need to see how I feel actually wearing it "all over" for a full day (otherwise I'll never get through a full bottle in a million years, and buying one would be pointless).

This smells like a generic gourmand perfume. I don't smell any of the notes listed. I don't get an almond note or marzipan or macarons. This smells sweet and fruity - I do pick up the cherry note, although it leans a little toward cherry cough syrup. I am disappointed as I was hoping for an almond forward scent. There is something in here that comes off as almost plasticky smelling. This is not safe for blind buying! This is my least favorite of the line.

A purple macron filled with jam and marzipan, followed with an imported Japanese cigarette... dinner for a cute introvert on a diet. The myrrh smells like a soft spicy cigarette and it really stands out on me more than the macron accord does; so unexpected. This cute/strange combination is so attractive to me. Reminded me of a model off duty from the late 90’s.

I liked this scent at first. I get a lot more of the marzipan than anything, and a subtle compliment of cherry. I'd call it dry and sweet. However, it gives me a massive headache. I am not sensitive to smells, so this surprised me. This and Miele have this effect on me. Very sad. Hopefully it agrees with you more than it does me!

The heliotrope isn't overdone here and balanced. It's a pretty accurate representation of macarons and actually better than the overhyped initio narcotic delight although this would be a more gourmand version of it. This feels full and delish!

All I smell is sour butter and sour really bad cherry. This entire line has been a disappointment. -100000/10.

Nutty and powdery, nothing that I'd love to try for the second time. Just ok.
