Mandorlo Cioccolato

Mandorlo Ciccolato: Summer of 1992. My very first trip to France with my sister to visit our French cousins and family south of Paris. Our luggage is mercilessly being held hostage at Charles de Gaulle, we're jet-lagged...just off, and Christine, my cousin who spent the Summer visiting us 5 years earlier, is doing the best she can to accommodate her cranky American relatives by taking us into the heart of Paris, to a café, ordering "quatre cafés français" and then...reveals the golden box with brown ribbon. Who the heck is Leonidas? And why are we eating Greek chocolate, sitting right here in the middle of Paris? Where's our luggage, and, and, and... oooooooooh...that's why. First, they're Belgian, not Greek. Second, these are the most delicious, delicate, decadent marzipan chocolates I've ever had in my life. Fast forward to Third...now I can wear something that reminds me of that whirlwind adventure, my first trip to France...being able to relax after the long, treacherous flight, enjoying my café français, popping Leonidas marizipans, people watching, and feeling great all around. Not a care in the world.

Mandorlo Cioccolato 15ml spray bottle MC opens up with a boozy vanilla-amaretto almond note. A little splash of orange grand marnier adds to the mix with a buttery cafe mocha undertone. Oakmoss and patchouli set off the cocoa notes and give it all some depth. A gentle lilt of white floral around the edges to femme it up and cut through the gourmand with the artemesia. The artemesia can lean sharp when used, but not in this instance. It helps to counterbalance the sweeter notes and add a herbal touch. A well done European style concoction. Longevity is good and sillage is moderate to heavy. Its a cold rainy evening and it is projecting very well. Body heat is key with this one. It reminds me at a local stylish coffee shop sitting at a table with a vase of white flowers, cafe with butter, gran marnier & amaretto and a small belgian chocolate for a sweet indulgence.

This one is a delight. I loved it from first whiff out of the sample vial. Out of the vial it smells like a gorgeous chocolate covered cherry. On skin it is not so (but leaves me curious about finding the perfect chocolate covered cherry scent), but it is something wonderful. It comes and goes in waves on me. This is a slow burn that dances back and forth between what it wants to say. At first it's a bright cocoa smell. This faded so fast I got nervous it wouldn't come back. But then it came back powdery, cocoa in the background, a touch of jasmine? Then kind of faded away again...only to bounce back a little bit spicy (kinda reminded me of cardamom at first, and then cloves), and still powdery and sweet. Then mingling with this spicy, powdery scent came a dusty oakmoss. DUSTY. This scent smells like someone opened up a doorway to another time.

It smells so darned edible. My first thoughts were of the Amaretti disarrano alcoholic drink. The dark chocolate, almond and orange go so well together. It does smell like some amazing chocolate, almond and orange liqueur. I dont get much butter but I do get the white flowers and the coffee. I think its the coffee and the oakmoss that give some sort of astringency. I like it best after an hour or two when the white flowers and orange comes much more to the fore. Its definitely bang on unisex. Moderate longevity and sillage.

Love it. This is a great scent and a perfume oil in a spray, for a really low price. Unique, delicious and I get compliments. I love putting this on in the morning and still able to smell it near the end of the work day. Goes great with a cup of coffee and a leather jacket. I find it hard to believe that there is any body who would not like this but then again some people are just plain weird.

Initially, I am hit with an Amaretto-type of scent. This fades in 15 seconds, and is replaced by a dry, dusty, chocolate. This cocao scent is then surrounded by white flowers, with uncommonly beautiful sillage. The patchouli in the drydown has a light, smokey, incense, quality. Lovely! Strangely, I never get orange. However, with almond, chocolate, and flowers, what's not to love? Gorgeous!

One of my samples from Kyse, Mandorlo Cioccolato is a perfect little perk-me-up perfume for this week leading up to Christmas. Terri Bozzo's chocolate-orange treat is infused with a fragrant floral heart and has 0 calories as compared to the 46 calories per single slice of 'Terry's Chocolate Orange' -- I know which one I'd prefer to find in my X-mas stocking!

LOVE THIS AROMA~ smells like a chocolate orange ball by Terry's Milk Chocolate but then turns to a dry almond booze. very gourmand, sweet then dry or sweet and dry or just plain scrumptious. YUMMY

This is appreciably nice. I get a chocolate cream nougat when first applying it to my skin that dries down to a powdery, musty, oddly vintage smelling fragrance to me. Although, you still smell the orange cream nougat candies the entire time to my nose. The dry down I would describe as powdery, oakmoss, candy coffee patchouli, floral scent I get. This fragrance is a nice play between two textures, sticky sweet & dry dusty. Although that's not really my taste. Had me stop to think. Downfall this fragrance is on the weaker side for me on lasting power. I am trying the entire collection and I have a 50/50 split of what fragrances have lasted long on me. The ones that have lasted long for me thus far were oui plus, confit de rose, and vertigo cuir. The ones that didn't last so long for me were frollino, debauche, and this one.

The jury is out on this one. It has A LOT of orange. Which, is a downfall for me as I'm not really a fan of citrus notes. It eventually turns into a smokey almond scent, which is different, but I like it. So far,this is just not me, but I'm sooo looking forward to trying more scents by Terri.

I think if you like this one you should try her other fragrance J. I usually really dont like Almonds but this is blended nice enough to where the almond doesnt take over. I get a orange peel smell from this mixed with chocolate, coffee, and patchouli. This is one of my favorites for fall!

I was expecting something like the Lindt Orange Dark Chocolate bars, but this fragrance wasn't sweet like a chocolate bar. In fact it wasn't very sweet at all, but a very delicious cacao and orange smell. Pulls a little too masculine on me but I will definitely be giving it to my SO.

up front orange and chocoloate quickly develops into almond floral with the chocolate and orange underneath; lovely gourmand that is not too sweet and is complex as dries down; boozy like a triple sec or a chocolate orange that you break open at Christmas

Straight-up "chocolate incense candle." I've committed to wearing my sample today to see if I like it and whether or not it evolves. I DO like this scent, but it does remind me too much of a candle to fully enjoy on my skin, at least at this point.

My favorite from this house, with a very strong orange note. If you like this one, the Elegance Sombre is similar.

Smells like chocolate and plastic to me. Didn’t even last an hour on the skin. It’s fine. Not for me.

I threw this sample away without reviewing it, because it wasn't available in the database at the time, so I don't really remember what it was that I disliked about it. It's a shame, because from the sample pack I thought this was going to be my favourite, I love almond smells after all. And I remember the initial blast of it being really lovely and promising, but after a couple of minutes I had to wash it off, it was so strong and really not my thing. Maybe it's the chocolate combined with the oakmoss that's not for me? I'd like to try it again some time in the future though, to see if I change my mind, because some of the other samples in that pack were lovely!

I'm sampling this fragrance today. This is great! The opening is bright, fresh, and citrusy. Then it goes into gourmand with notes of vanilla butter and cocoa and coffee. Smells very sweet and yummy to me. It does smell like a candle. -

This is my favorite fragrance from Terris line, a terrific chocolate gourmand in every sense of the word, the notes are, Almond, White Florals, Orange, Cocoa Absolute, Butter Co2, Vanilla Bourbon, Davana, Oakmoss, Coffee, Sumatran Benzoin, and Patchouli. I get some chocolate, orange, coffee, patchouli and that butter note which is a note that I find very interesting that I have never saw used in a fragrance it starts off with a hit of chocolate and orange, the chocolate note is a bitter chocolate not sweet, when it mixes with the orange it blends so beautifully that the sweetness from the orange tames the bitterness, then after about twenty minutes the orange note dies down and butter note comes in the butter note makes it very smooth, rich and creamy, then finally the coffee and patchouli kick it, the coffee is a dark coffee sort of like espresso and the patchouli gives the fragrance some depth and earthiness. It reminds me of chocolate, coffee candy with a creamy, soft orange filling on the inside, it's very natural smelling, rich and decadent, smells good enough to eat, I think this would be perfect for the fall and winter weather, I get average projection and average longevity.

As the name suggests, Kyse Perfumes Mandorlo Cioccolato involves both almond and chocolate, but what's omitted from the name is that the orange accord is so dominant that it comes off more like a chocolate/orange pairing than a chocolate/almond pairing. So a prerequisite of enjoying this fragrance is enjoying chocolate and orange together, which unfortunately I do not. I really don't get much of the coffee, benzoin, or bourbon, as the sharpness of the orange outshines most of the interesting acidity that would come out of the coffee or the bite of the bourbon, and the creaminess of the benzoin is simply blended into the almond and chocolate that otherwise figure into the sweet side of this for me. An interesting composition but one that I don't fancy, though the performance is solid and the price is more than reasonable at $52 for 60ml. 6 out of 10

Meh. Smells like a nutty chocolate orange Yankee Candle. It's okay, but I didn't find it anything special. If I'm gonna wear an orange chocolate scent I will just wear my Chocolovers, or Jo Malone Bitter Orange and Chocolate. I don't love synthetic chocolate tbh but if I'm gonna wear a synthetic chocolate scent (like Chocolovers) then at least I'm gonna wear one that doesn't smell like a candle. I think if you really don't mind that synthetic vibe and you like this type of scent, then you'll probably be happy with it but for me it was just not great. And not all fragrances have to be that sophisticated, but I just felt like this was better to left to the Bath and Body Works/Victoria's Secret Pink tween crowd rather than an adult who has many fragrances and wants a more mature gourmand.

I waited more than a month to get my samples, because I live in an island and I am happy I received them today! This is the first vial I tried and at first I smelled too much orange, unless it is the almond, making it a bit bitter and medicine like. But already there was a good smell of chocolate underneath. After a little while there is less of the orange, but kind of a dirty smell developing above the chocolate. Is the dirty smell the oakmoss? Then it disappears to live a strong round chocolate smell accompanied by a hint of coffee. And now finally I can smell a powdery chocolate and some butter. I don't get the white flowers. I find it delicious and cannot stop smelling my wrists. I feel heat coming out of this perfume. But I will wear it on this hot island.

This smells like a dark, boozy almond liqueur. The notes that stick out to me the most are: - almond (but boozy, like an almond extract) - cocoa absolute (no sweetness - just bitter cocoa powder) - vanilla bourbon - oakmoss - sumatran benzoin I did not pick up on any of the white florals, orange, or patchouli. It's a cozy fragrance that leans unisex, projects well, and did not at all smell to me like a Terry's chocolate orange (as mentioned in earlier reviews). This is bitter, earthy, boozy, and not very sweet - so if that sounds up your alley, then you'd probably love it. Definitely for colder weather, probably more appropriate for evenings.

Almonds soaked in orange oil, joined by a bitter chocolate and a hint of coffee. This reminds me of Middle Eastern deserts. It's sweet, spicy and also rich and dense. It's buttery too. It really is lovely, although it smelled nicer in the bottle than on my skin, where it fell a little flat and went a bit soapy (testing on a friend's skin didn't produce this problem though, so it's not the perfume's fault, just my annoying skin. Perfumes have a habit of turning to soap on me when they don't on other people. No idea why). I wish I could wear it because I'd jump to buy a FB if it smelled the same on me as it did on my friend. Really lovely.

Terri’s Mandorlo Cioccolato smells like those chocolate orange candies that come in a ball wrapped in orange foil and you hit them against the table to crack them and they split into orange slice looking pieces of chocolate. Loved those as a kid and this fragrance brings back those fond memories! Mandorlo Cioccolato smells so delicious!

This smells really good and the orange in really dominant on me. However, it goes soapy and potpourri smelling upon dry down. Not sure which notes causes it to do that. With that being said, to my nose this reads more like a room spray or wax melt. Nice scent, just not for a fragrance.

I received this in a sampler set and while I enjoy the sweet orange,spicy,chocolate scent,I'd prefer it as a room freshener or potpourri,not something on my skin.Like ALL of Terri's fragrances it is very creative and gorgeous!

Despite the name, this is a boozy concoction with lots of influence from the almond. I'm not getting much of the chocolate or orange.

No chocolate here- all I get is orange and almond extract that quickly turns into a generic candle scent with some waxy overtones.

Smells like almond, patchouli and chocolate. It's boozy.
