i think this is so cleverly and artistically crafted. it's a perfume i can confidently say is not at all linear. there is a story as time goes on from wearing it. on the initial spray, the cucumber along with the geosmin are very prominent with more of the cucumber. it feels very wet-soil in the most natural yet elegant way like the rain just stopped and it is dewy and foggy. it is feminine in a way that is not at all sweet but so nature-like. as time goes on, the iris becomes more and more prominent and the fragance becomes more powdery. if the first hour or two of the fragrance was the moment just after the rain, the dry-down to it is when the rain has stopped hours ago yet the soil is still dewy but covered in iris. the rice steam never takes the spotlight but it contributes to so much of the ambiance for this fragrance. it makes it misty and gives it the feel of fogginess. it is so comforting and so cleverly done. it is not the melancholic petrichor i wished it was but rather something fairy-like instead. it's not happy. it's not sad. it's a moment in nature where it just is. this is super long-lasting and i catch whiffs of it throughout my job as a barista. it is not aggressive and i definitely don't think this is a head-turner/compliment-getter. but that is, in no way, a bad thing. it is something you wear to enjoy for yourself. this is so good especially during a rainy/foggy day.

The composition opens with straightforward cucumber note, not so much of a freshie, rather a slightly pickled one, reminiscent of a summer salad. In 15-20 minutes it toned down, rice and the smell of damp soil became more prominent. Iris remained somewhere on the outskirts, barely noticeable.

Clearly the best of the 3 L:A Bruket as initial impression. The orris root note smells quite like the real thing, earthy, vegetal and slightly powdery. Cucumber aspect recalls violet leaf, adding a nice watery freshness. These watery and vegetal aspect contrasted with lactones, giving a nice summery, coconut/milk fond, an attempt to call it rice in the marketing perhaps due to increased popularity in last decade? It wouldn't surprise me the base also includes cedarwood Virginia (creamy woody), a tiny bit of Australian sandalwood (dry, dusty) as well as more vibrant synthetic sandalwood molecules. But lactonic aspects prevails and overall feeling is cucumber x coconut milk sunscreen lotion.

Instant love. Watery, fresh, vegetal quality paired with a soft starchiness and cozy musk. The use of iris is perfect!
