Patchouli Canelle

The name of this fragrance is actually BOIS Patchouli Cannelle but Fragrantica hasn't edited the entry. I tested this fragrance out today for the first time and it was a great experience. I was lucky to obtain a sample and I'm very glad to have had this opportunity to try it out. It opens very woody and spicy but rather quickly, this scrumptious chocolaty patchouli breaks through. The sandalwood is very rich and creamy and then the sweet vanilla rounds out the composition. It is a very well blended and very high quality fragrance. Leans a bit more masculine but is very wearable for anyone who loves spicy and sweet woody fragrances. This is the 7th fragrance I've tested from this house and I continue to be impressed by the high quality and great blends they offer. Scent : 9/10 Projection : 7.5/10 Sillage : 8/10 Longevity : 9/10 Overall : 8.5/10

The opening is spicy and fresh, dominated somehow by the patchouli, but as it dries the patchouli steps back and the cinnamon and woody notes are very evident and distinct. In the middle notes the rose is barely there, and this is mostly a wood/cinnamon with amber-y notes. With time the patchouli re-appears, and it's sweet and rich. It's almost a spicy/gourmand scent, that reminds me of some ambient candles used around the holidays, or the cinnamon spiced pinecones used to decorate. I like it more than I expected (patchouli needs to be done right for me to like it) , but it seems to be more the scent of a place than of a person. It remains quite linear through dry down and is quite long lasting.

You look at the notes and wonder if this could work... it does NOT. Yikes.

It is the clone of Oblio dei Sensi (2016}. It is a very good fragrance. A pure warm spicy scent.
