Rose Cannelle

Hmm! this is beautiful!. I came across La Closerie des Parfums after searching for rose and cinnamon fragrances, not a common combo! the notes on this frag was a call I couldn't resist. I'm not a blind-buying fan so I played safe and got samples from the ‘Rose’ collection (3 in total)... bingo!. I initially sprayed it on my wrist just once, but I soon realised I needed to properly wear it to immerse myself before writing a review. Today I sprayed 4 times on my neck and chest and I’m so glad I did. The opening is a burst of rose and light cinnamon, delicious from the beginning. During the dry down sandalwood and amber make a warm entrance, patchouli and leather are in the far background, slightly noticeable. Although I’m not a fan of sweet frags, this is slightly sweet and truly divine. I can smell it as I move around, I feel enveloped by its warmth, so beautiful. Longevity I would say max. 6 hours, weak sillage, it turns into a skin scent after 1-2 hours. I would love a full size bottle ❤️

I was looking for a good rose fragrance - there are so many rose fragrances out there, but really not that many are good - and found my new favourite everyday wintertime floral (and least favourite bottle cap, it's really awful to use). Rose Cannelle is really deep and a little dark, but not overwhelming. The rose here is very juicy and beautiful, a little jammy but not too sweet. It's also the most prominent note to me, along with leather and plum. One of my first rose fragrances was Rose Anonyme, and this is a little bit similar, but stronger, smoother and just better overall. I would describe it as casual goth unisex. All rose fragrances from this line are very good and worth testing.

Wow this is so interesting to me. This is a dark rose, definitely for winter and only winter. The first few minutes in particular, feel almost suffocating, like a dark cloud of rose, spice, woods and leather had enveloped me. There is no oud in here, but the combination of notes give an oudy vibe, during those first few minutes. This storm of dark, heavy notes doesn't last. Soon the storm passes and the fragrance lightens up, and from then on it smells like the warm and wonderful sandalwood and cinnamon rose I had expected from the name. I like this a lot. Very mysterious and intriguing. I'm going to give it a few more wears and will edit this comment when I have more hindsight.

There is a juicy burst of roses initially, then the fragrance quickly dries down to a warm vanilla oud, very much like 24Gold or Raghba.
