A Parisian Affair

I love this perfume because it has two of my favorite evocative scents: pungent earthy pine, and down and dirty animalic notes. It may sound like an unusual combination but the end result is a very vintagey-smelling perfume; something like My Sin or Bandit. It gives total flapper girl vibes. The lilac is cunning, the champaca is sultry, and the vanilla/cognac base holds it all together with authority. I'd wear it either day or night, or in the wee hours of the morning on my walk of shame ;-) Perfumer Olivia Larson pulls off another masterpiece.

The lilac presentation is strikingly realistic and lush, beautifully supported by the intoxicating headiness of champaca. Soapy lilac Foamy soapy blend that started bit piny and settles to hand soap. No cognac, and no vanilla. It's like a hand soap blend as i thought from the name it'll be a bit naughty but unfortunately it's like a fairy tale affair. fair. Edit (update 10 minutes in) The colder it goes the tens it becomes! I started to sniff rosy pine with bits of sweet cognac and a tropical champaca! It does have that soapy clean note but not as strong as it were when i first sprayed it. Cute.

I am reminded of a softer gentle L'Heure Bleu.
