An Indian Summer

As that initial zest mellows, the fragrance gracefully transitions to its complex heart, whisking you away to a bustling Eastern spice market. The air here is rich with the aroma of curry leaf, subtle coriander, and invigorating ginger. These culinary notes are expertly woven with the intoxicating sweetness of jasmine and white lotus, scents that seem to drift in from a nearby garden. The unexpected addition of coconut and butter lends an intriguing, savory "edible" quality, ensuring this is distinctly not a sweet gourmand. First impression, I love An Indian Summer by La Fleur by Livvy because I love limes. They are sweet, tangy, cold and refreshing – they taste and smell amazing! It’s the fragrance of happy times. Indian Summer starts out bright -like squeezing a lime into your drink. I feel the tangy, coldness of having a sip. But the DRYDOWN! It’s slightly floral – Reminds me of the pith of the lime, which has it’s own appeal. Also enters- dry, soft spices. The season called Indian Summer -when extreme heat softens to a drowsy, pleasant temperature & skies overhead are the most vivid blue – it’s the best time of the year & everything is tinged in sepia light. The dry down of this fragrance glows dark around the edges with fresh spices. Transparent white flowers lift the slight sweetness of coconut & jasmine. This is such a lovely scent. It will be great in spring/summer but something I’ve recently realized is- how wonderfully these spices shoulder forward in cold weather. A man could wear this with as much enjoyment as a woman can. My multiple sprays have lasted the work day. For me this was a trip to LIvvy's grandma's house for dinner. While the Grandma is in the kitchen utilizing every spice from her garden. I and the other guests sit in the living room - windows open - breeze blowing the scent of beautiful white flowers into the room. The florals and spices meet and mingle as the the fan blows the air around the room creating a comforting scent. Nice sillage and lasts about 4 to 5 hours .
