Kafka On The Shore

Mild powdery scent When I got the sample. I immediately separated it from the side I didn't like it first.. But there was a coldness of stone in him when I first sniff it on the paper. I ignored him for a while. Then I start test second time and he started doing his job on the skin. This scent immediately associated me with Kevin Murphy Free Hold styling paste for hair(army green colour). great smell btw. and full recommendation !! I will finally be able to wear the same scent on my hair and neck. This styling paste has a really dominant scent and can "kill" or overshadow some lighter perfume if you put it on, or in the worst case you can have a mix of 2 scents on you and that you don't want at all. So when I apply this hair paste I always choose powdery scents or with the scent of vanilla, so there are no big deviations. But Kafka is ideally found here ... because I repeat. It is the same or even better identical scent as Kevim Murphy Free Hold Styling paste.(If you are not able to try this fragrance and you have the opportunity to smell a hair paste ..thank me later.) Projection : hour to hour and a half. then extinguish moderately and be close to the skin unfortunately it is not long-lived :( and the price is a little high then for something like that. smell like smell : 10/10 projection : Weak :/ Duration : moderate This is a beautiful niche mild powdery gem totally unisex.Unobtrusive and mild office friendly category or the fragrance before bed. if I have excess money I will definitely buy it And like this? I'll skip it with a sad look ...

A very intense, leathery vanilla, mixed with notes of paper and a hint of lemon. It's also very resinous, reminding me of a book warped by rain, with a Honey Lollipop left stuck between its pages. It's very aromatic and invigorating, a beautiful autumn scent. I don't think I'm ever attracted to this type of creation, which looks a little hefty on paper, but when I find a sample, I'm always using it up in no time. One of those cocooning, cuddly fragrances, evocative of a thousand everyday scents (a block of printer paper, spices, your favorite grandma's vanilla-patchouli scent). Pretty delighted on my side.

I really like this one. It was a blind buy (again!) and I was not disappointed. The scent is a little smoky leathery but mainly smells like old books, which I really love. I ordered it from ssense.com, and right after got me Post Tenebras Lux. I think this brand is amazing. Most of the ones I got to try are quite subtle ones, skin close but genius DNA. I can recommend trying this perfume house.

A great homage to a book that’s beyond special to me! I get the smell of ashed out cigarettes, rain, powder, leather and old books. I could imagine Komura Memorial Library smelling just like this. Very contemplative and evocative just like the book. Will probably end up with a full bottle soon

i dearly want my home to smell like this fragrance but i can’t see myself wearing it! it’s very interesting and definitely smells like a library. it smells a bit like paint and wood and books and it’s really really gorgeous and odd. I sampled it on my arm and I kept going back to it and being surprised throughout the day. at the end of the day, I really picked up the vanilla. i think kafka on the shore is a bit more heavy and norwegian wood is much more delicate and fresh. they’re both incredible fragrances, but if you want to blind buy one of their murakami inspired scents, norwegian wood may be a safer choice

A hidden gem! Especially those who love a book, and woody scent, I want the full bottle SO bad! Wugh. It totally had me at OLD BOOKS!🤤 -It was amazing at first, to last sniff. I got the luxury of a half a gram sample. It was gone in three days. lol. Kafka is the BEST bang on old book! Just the right amount of must, the aging sweetness of the paper and glue, and the ever slight tang of aged leather. But it doesn’t stop there, oh no. Behind the best old book you will ever smell in your life is a wonderfully woody, slightly powdery, and aromatic delight. 🪵📓 I wish my tight budget included beautiful perfumes, both niche/indie. 🧴

I wanted to love this one so badly. the notes, pleasant reviews from people and overall vibe seemed so promising. but when i spray it on either paper or my skin, i get nothing but grandma. i get a lot of the iris and musk and it makes it very powdery, especially in the first 1-2 hours, and i think that’s where the grandma vibes are coming from. the dry-down is a bit nicer, and i get more of the leathery vanilla, but it still skews far too elderly for me. however if your grandma wears something like this she is classy and gorgina and i love her. just not for me! maybe i will revisit it in about 40 years haha.

wanted to love kafka on the shore as a haruki murakami fiend, but i can't even stretch my usually pliable mind to convince myself i like this. basically like imaginary author's o, unknown! but better....which is really not saying much considering that i don't really like that fragrance. still, it is an improvement on the iris/woody/musky smell. unfortunately, the playdough type note that i get from o, unknown! is a constant between the two. i will say this is more vanillac which gives it a softer quality. could potentially work well on someone else, but just not for me !
