Vanille Divine des Tropiques

Vanilla DROPS! Opening with a vanilla-white floral burst that continues through a creamy vanilla-tuberose heart to a powdery and nuanced vanilla-heliotrope base, this dewy vanilla beauty is for the seekers and collectors of vanilla scents. The base is beautifully blended and hard to pick out individual notes, but on the skin I get faint touches that are powdery, dewy, rooty-earthy and chocolate-caramel. Needs a few weeks/months after first sprays to really blossom. Contrast to Vanille Sauvage de Madagascar La Maison de la Vanille: This sister scent is another beautiful vanilla scent, straight up but well-rounded. The lavender note is much fainter than the notes would suggest, however, in the base they both have chocolatey-caramel touches. VSdM is more gourmand: imagine opening up a dark flask of Madagascar bourbon vanilla - the secret ingredient for chocolate chip waffles with the perfect amount of crispiness, served with caramel syrup and lavender lattes. VSdM outperforms VDdT. Contrast to Lira by Xerjoff: These are both strongly vanilla forward scents, but citrus is more prominent in the opening of Lira. Although performance is superior in Lira, in the drydowns these two get more similar as the vanilla component becomes more full bodied. Contrast to Tendre Madeleine Laurence Dumont: Both being very prominent vanilla scents. VDdT is more floral in the opening and heart, and slightly heavier with the chocolatey touches and caramel touches, whereas TM has a citrus vanilla and lighter cakey feel. Performance is about equivalent in these two. Contrast to Pacifica Island Vanilla: These are different, but in the base, both have a vanilla that is full bodied with caramely-chocolate touches, however the performance is better in VDdT than Pacifica Island Vanilla. Contrast to Hanae Mori Hanae Mori: Very different scents, but the openings are similar, with the blend of florals in Vanille Divine des Tropiques almost seeming to include yellow florals. Contrast to Dark Women Police: Again very different scents, with Vanille Divine des Tropiques being more vanilla forward, but in the base, the rooty-earthy touches in the vanilla remind me of Dark Women Police. Contrast to Pink Sugar Aquolina: Although both are vanilla-forward, Pink sugar is fruitier in the opening and dries down woodier with beast mode performance. Overall: Beautiful vanilla forward scent profile and although I didn't have the good fortune to have smelt this back in the day, many of you who did have cited issues of performance not being what it once was. I find the performance currently about average but acceptable for an EDT and light wearing experience (about 6 hours longevity with arms length projection for 2 sprays to back of hand for 2-3 hours at which point it gradually contracts to become a skin scent). It's a love for me. 10/10. Enjoy!

Vanille Divine des Tropiques is a a truly lovely vanilla scent. Exotic, a little powdery and sweet, very sweet, but the flowers keep it a little grounded. I don't detect a lot of tuberose which is great because heavy tuberose doesn't work for me. A little goes a long way. I spray lightly because too much of it could quickly become cloying because of the extreme sweetness. Longevity is excellent, I sprayed a couple of spritz on my wrists and neck while going out at night and was still getting whiffs of it the next day. If you love sweet scents, I'd highly recommend this.

The scent is like vanilla and banana smoothies, condensed milk passes for half an hour, the scent is like vanila pudding The aroma is delicious and worth exploring.

My first try of my La Maison de la Vanille 5 x 15ml sample pack from Luckyscent does not disappoint. Divine Vanille des Tropiques is a nice powdery white floral--tuberose and gardenia come to mind, and I admit I'm not specifically familiar with many of the other notes. I initially thought I got a bit of citrus in the opening too, though no citrus notes are listed in the notes breakdown. It's arguably a little feminine but is surely unisex for men like me who like vanilla. Not the best floral vanilla I've smelled (that medal may go to Dame Black Flower Mexican Vanilla), either, but very satisfying and pleasant in terms of the scent. Not strong enough to offend most but strong enough as an EDT to not leave disappointed one who likes it. I doubt this will be the favorite of the set but it's a good vanilla overall---a good performer, and versatile enough for formal/casual and winter/summer. 7 out of 10

tra le vaniglie de la maison (tra cui la noir du mexique rimane al top per me) questa mi sembra la meno riuscita. diversa dai soliti profumi esotico/tropicali a base di vaniglia e tiarè, questa fragranza ha effettivamente note miste floreali/aromatiche ma con la preponderanza di osmanto e giacinto, piuttosto che i soliti fiori bianchi (gardenia, tuberosa, tiarè appunto, etc etc). l'effetto complessivo non è sgradevole, anzi ne fa qualcosa di non troppo canonico, però conferisce all'insieme un che di plastico, assai simile all'odore delle bambole. per fortuna la persistenza non è infinita e la scia neppure troppo forte. si assesta infatti in breve tempo su una vaniglia che più che aromatica sembra sintetica, che rimane vicino alla pelle. questa evanescenza ne fa un accordo più adatto al caldo che altro. non malissimo, ma se ne può fare a meno.
