Vanille Divine des Tropiques

Vanilla DROPS! Opening with a vanilla-white floral burst that continues through a creamy vanilla-tuberose heart to a powdery and nuanced vanilla-heliotrope base, this dewy vanilla beauty is for the seekers and collectors of vanilla scents. The base is beautifully blended and hard to pick out individual notes, but on the skin I get faint touches that are powdery, dewy, rooty-earthy and chocolate-caramel. Needs a few weeks/months after first sprays to really blossom. Contrast to Vanille Sauvage de Madagascar La Maison de la Vanille: This sister scent is another beautiful vanilla scent, straight up but well-rounded. The lavender note is much fainter than the notes would suggest, however, in the base they both have chocolatey-caramel touches. VSdM is more gourmand: imagine opening up a dark flask of Madagascar bourbon vanilla - the secret ingredient for chocolate chip waffles with the perfect amount of crispiness, served with caramel syrup and lavender lattes. VSdM outperforms VDdT. Contrast to Lira by Xerjoff: These are both strongly vanilla forward scents, but citrus is more prominent in the opening of Lira. Although performance is superior in Lira, in the drydowns these two get more similar as the vanilla component becomes more full bodied. Contrast to Tendre Madeleine Laurence Dumont: Both being very prominent vanilla scents. VDdT is more floral in the opening and heart, and slightly heavier with the chocolatey touches and caramel touches, whereas TM has a citrus vanilla and lighter cakey feel. Performance is about equivalent in these two. Contrast to Pacifica Island Vanilla: These are different, but in the base, both have a vanilla that is full bodied with caramely-chocolate touches, however the performance is better in VDdT than Pacifica Island Vanilla. Contrast to Hanae Mori Hanae Mori: Very different scents, but the openings are similar, with the blend of florals in Vanille Divine des Tropiques almost seeming to include yellow florals. Contrast to Dark Women Police: Again very different scents, with Vanille Divine des Tropiques being more vanilla forward, but in the base, the rooty-earthy touches in the vanilla remind me of Dark Women Police. Contrast to Pink Sugar Aquolina: Although both are vanilla-forward, Pink sugar is fruitier in the opening and dries down woodier with beast mode performance. Overall: Beautiful vanilla forward scent profile and although I didn't have the good fortune to have smelt this back in the day, many of you who did have cited issues of performance not being what it once was. I find the performance currently about average but acceptable for an EDT and light wearing experience (about 6 hours longevity with arms length projection for 2 sprays to back of hand for 2-3 hours at which point it gradually contracts to become a skin scent). It's a love for me. 10/10. Enjoy!

Vanille Divine des Tropiques is a a truly lovely vanilla scent. Exotic, a little powdery and sweet, very sweet, but the flowers keep it a little grounded. I don't detect a lot of tuberose which is great because heavy tuberose doesn't work for me. A little goes a long way. I spray lightly because too much of it could quickly become cloying because of the extreme sweetness. Longevity is excellent, I sprayed a couple of spritz on my wrists and neck while going out at night and was still getting whiffs of it the next day. If you love sweet scents, I'd highly recommend this.

The scent is like vanilla and banana smoothies, condensed milk passes for half an hour, the scent is like vanila pudding The aroma is delicious and worth exploring.

My first try of my La Maison de la Vanille 5 x 15ml sample pack from Luckyscent does not disappoint. Divine Vanille des Tropiques is a nice powdery white floral--tuberose and gardenia come to mind, and I admit I'm not specifically familiar with many of the other notes. I initially thought I got a bit of citrus in the opening too, though no citrus notes are listed in the notes breakdown. It's arguably a little feminine but is surely unisex for men like me who like vanilla. Not the best floral vanilla I've smelled (that medal may go to Dame Black Flower Mexican Vanilla), either, but very satisfying and pleasant in terms of the scent. Not strong enough to offend most but strong enough as an EDT to not leave disappointed one who likes it. I doubt this will be the favorite of the set but it's a good vanilla overall---a good performer, and versatile enough for formal/casual and winter/summer. 7 out of 10

tra le vaniglie de la maison (tra cui la noir du mexique rimane al top per me) questa mi sembra la meno riuscita. diversa dai soliti profumi esotico/tropicali a base di vaniglia e tiarè, questa fragranza ha effettivamente note miste floreali/aromatiche ma con la preponderanza di osmanto e giacinto, piuttosto che i soliti fiori bianchi (gardenia, tuberosa, tiarè appunto, etc etc). l'effetto complessivo non è sgradevole, anzi ne fa qualcosa di non troppo canonico, però conferisce all'insieme un che di plastico, assai simile all'odore delle bambole. per fortuna la persistenza non è infinita e la scia neppure troppo forte. si assesta infatti in breve tempo su una vaniglia che più che aromatica sembra sintetica, che rimane vicino alla pelle. questa evanescenza ne fa un accordo più adatto al caldo che altro. non malissimo, ma se ne può fare a meno.

I laughed when I first opened up a sample of this one. The child in me loves the smell of bubblegum, and that's exactly what this smelled like right out of the bottle. As it begins to dry the florals start to peek out, though not in a conventional way. There's a sense that the floral notes in this come together to create a classical pink bubblegum smell, though the closer you sniff the more you get a hint, just a hint, of florals and a tropical element that reminds me of red berries (in a sweet sense.) But, mostly bubblegum with a sense of florals and some sweet red berry is all I get here, in a rather nice way. After about an hour it morphs into that yummy vanilla this brand is so known for.

i believe i'm getting vanilla and hyacinth at first, and maybe a bit of jasmine. this vanilla is softer and more powdery than the others i've tried by this house, which lean more sweet and gourmand. this one is still pretty sweet, but less so. also, this is definitely familiar, and i've smelled it before, years ago. not sure if it was this or another fragrance that smells similar. for the first hour or so, i get no tuberose or gardenia here and the amber is questionable as well. it's a vanillic soft floral scent. nice and kind of cozy. later on i get some tuberose, and at this point it's even prettier-vanilla and tuberose. can't wait to try this one in warmer weather.

Not surprisingly this is a tropical vanilla. White flowers and fluffy vanilla. Dries down to the typical La Maison de la Vanille vanilla scent (for those who knows). Cheerful, enjoyable, simple and the bottle is easy to carry in your luggage. For the price it's fairly long lasting and the quality is good. When it comes to vanilla La Maison de la Vanille is always a good choice even among the sea of designers vanilla fragrances out there in my opinion.

I swear there's banana in this. Creamy banana, more banana icecream or milkshake than the actual fruit. The composition is almost frothy, it's so ridiculously creamy. There's a bit of wholesome 1960's sun lotion to complement the vanilla that is this fragrance's namesake and some Monoi vibes as well. If you don't have this fragrance emanating from your bosom under a floral print sundress this summer then I don't know what you're doing with your life.

I wore this almost every day in high school. can definitely see the complaints about it being too sweet, but it was a godsend for teen me and the amount of cigarette smoke, weed smoke, and pollution I was around all the time. I don't know if they've reformulated it, but back then I never worried about reapplying-- my morning sprays would last well into the evening after a full day of school.

I just received the discovery set from LuckyScent too. Grabbed this one up first. The top notes were very much to my liking! My eyes widened because the opening was SO different and I loved it. The dry down is not to my liking too much though. Like I said, I haven't smelled anything like this so I have no idea to tell you WHY it doesn't appeal to me - only the dry down.

It's a good and strong vanilla scent. I had this bottle and used it up until half of it. Then I simply couldn't stand the sweetness and vanilla anymore. Currently I'm having a vanilla pause :) La Maison de la Vanille are making good vanilla perfumes with mediocre lasting power. I test-sprayed all of them and found them much alike.

Typically I really enjoy the vanilla from this house but here it falls really flat after a promising floral opening. The vanilla overpowers everything within an hour and unfortunately smells basic to boot. Great for a room fragrance maybe but not for me.

Vanille Divine des Tropiques, meaning divine vanilla from the tropics, is what this fragrance is all about. Think of a tropical destination, complete with sparkling blue oceans and big, lush palm trees, and you have this scent in mind. Vanille Divine des Tropiques opens with sweet, powdery vanilla and freshly picked bananas. I could liken this fragrance to banana splits with sweetened cream and a sprinkle of malt, however this fragrance doesn't strike me as being gourmand. The scent is enticing yet difficult to wear. For those that love and wear Sicily by Dolce & Gabbana, this is a softer, less sharp and more vanillary version. Summer or Winter, wear it in whatever season suits you. Vanille Divine des Tropiques makes me happy in the way that it brings me back to the days when I was a child feasting on sweets and all things light and sugary. There are subtle hints of pretty white florals throughout the composition, however the strong banana and vanilla notes stay with me until the very moment the scent disappears. Don't expect strong vanilla, because the sillage of this fragrance isn't particularly strong. The lasting power is very good however, lasting well over 6 hours on my skin.

Vanille Divine des Tropiques is a very enjoyable spring and summer vanilla fragrance. Out of the bottle it smells like Kinder chocolate - something I have searched for for ages. On initial spray I get *the* perfect blend of tuberose, gardenia and jasmine - my favourite white flowers - mixed with the wonderful sweetness of sugar-coated candy. The fragrance feels so incredibly tropical and sweet, yet, at the same time, Vanille Divine des Tropiques has a transparent feel that makes it so perfect for warm weather. Within the first hour of wearing Vanille Divine the fragrance develops - actually it is alive on my skin: I can feel the sweet vanilla resting peacefully on my skin while white flower notes flutter around my nose. Eventually, after about an hour, the floral notes disappear completely and leave nothing but the loveliest sweetness on my skin - the scent of Kinder chocolate. Vanille Divine projects with average strength but lasts more than 12 hours on my skin which, I think, is utter vanilla madness! My husband, who encouraged me to blind-buying Vanille Tropiques a few days ago has already asked me to stock up on this fragrance. :D

La Maison de la Vanille Vanille Divine des Tropiques I have a girlfriend named Margaret who is always the life of the party. She is stunning too, which makes for a lethal combination. She is exactly the kind of person who can talk anyone into anything and her ideas about having fun are always no holds barred. Thanks to her, I have had weekends a lot like the ones in the movie Hangover where you wake up having no idea of how you got there. There have been times when we all agree to see the pictures ONCE, and burn the evidence afterwards. This perfume instantly reminded me of Margaret. It’s light, happy, and FUN. It smells like carnivale in Trinidad. It smells like a party in a bottle. This is not a boring vanilla. This is the ultimate candied cupcake vanilla with a beachy twist. If you combine the sweet notes in Britney Spears Fantasy with the candied tropical notes in FCUK Friction for Her with the light happy creamy vanilla in Bon Bons, you’d have this fragrance and yet this one is a bit more sophisticated. It’s a date scent for the young at heart; for those who have never forgotten how to have fun.

I adore Tuberose fragrances but whenever it is paired up with Gardenia i just lose interest and Of the 5 La Maison de la Vanille fragrances that I have this one would have to be my least favorite. More so due to the fact that whenever Gardenia hits my skin it just turns into piss and it smells horrible which always sucks for me because I really do quite like this fragrance, more so due to the fact that I love tuberose and the way it combines with the vanilla is just flawless....until the gardenia comes in! This scent is very floral, it sort of has a beachy sun-tan lotion sort of vibe going on which I dig because it reminds me of summer time and the way everything just smells so bright and lovely in the summer. I just wish that damn Gardenia wasn't in the composition.

I put this on and suddenly I'm lazing on the sand in the warmth of the afternoon sun, a cocktail in one hand and sand drifting lazily through the fingers of my other hand. Jasmine and gardenia drifing softly by my nose in the breeze... Oh no! Another La Maison de la Vanille which I love! Why are they all sooooo good?! Divine des Tropiques is a rich vanilla floral, it's notes comprising vanilla, tuberose, hyacinth, jasmine, heliotrope, gardenia, aldehyde. It's not a completely tropical scent, but it's name is enough to transport me there! And the gardenia and jasmine give it a touch of tropical quality, combining with a rich, creamy sweetness, which is not at all cloying. Just luscious! I like Madagascar, Mexique and Antilles just that little bit more, but not much!!

I somehow assumed that Vanille Divine de Tropiques was bound to be some variant of monoi. Wrong! There is no coconut whatsoever and the flowers present are more varied (not predominantly "tropical gardenia" or tiare). Plus they are counterbalanced by a not-too-sweet vanilla pretty close to L'artisan parfumeur Vanilia. Not being the world's biggest vanilla perfume connoisseur, I will say that this one falls into the positive camp, as it smells very natural. It's nice to know that vanilla lovers have some reasonably priced high-quality options.

It is a tropical vanilla like the name implies :) I have tried four of the 5 in the Vanille line and this was my favorite so I had to buy it. Currently it is only $10 at Sephora for the 3.4 oz (it used to be 28 to 30 dollars), so I think it may be discontinuing, but I'm not sure. Anyway, Divine des Tropiques is a beautifully rounded sweet vanilla with a lot of tuberose, one of the sweetest of the La Maison's. It is indeed sensual.

This used to be my favourite vanilla. I repurchased it and it is nowhere as good as it used to be. At first spray there’s an awful smell, I think it may the alcohol they use. Longevity is maybe 1-2 hours with no sillage whatsoever, whereas the older formula would last almost all day and had decent sillage. Maybe I’ll let it sit for a year hoping it will deepen and become better. *this is my opinion, on my skin and to my nose.

Fluffy, powdery, confectionary. The tuberose in this fragrance is very similar to the one in Fracas --- over-ripe and almost like bubblegum, but the vanilla takes it in a creamy direction. I wouldn't say this is a particularly tropical fragrance, but it is well-suited to summer. Think carnivals, food truck festivals, birthday parties by the pool. It's a whimsical scent.

The dry down is Tihota esque. This was $21....... on fragnet. I bought 4 lol. The beginning is definitely floral but NOWHERE NEAR as much as people were saying it was. It like all the fragrances in this line are vanillas with slightly different facets but still. This and the Tahitian vanilla one are the best of the line.

I am really curious on all the scents from La maison de la vanilla, and this one sounds lovely so thanks to Aeternitas for the good review! Only problem now is that they seem hard to find in my country (Sweden) and not very easy on the internet either. Any tips?

Vanilla/white floral...balanced by light amber/aromatic vibes. Almost a sort of "greeny" vibe going on underneath as well...???...This drys down quicker than the other vanillas in this line...so it is kinda "basic" and rather "safe"....becomes linear.

I have NO idea where my bottle of this went, but I had a 15ml bottle and I remember this being the least memorable of the sampler set... still lovely, these are my favorite vanillas
