Vanille Fleurie de Tahiti

A pleasant and incredible surprise I know the brand is all about the vanilla and I respect that but I didn’t expect to like this as much as I did What surprised is the strangely fruity sweet aspect that I probably would credit to the tonka here I understand sickly sweet vanilla is usually a negative thing but the sweet fruits that I got was spot on and I enjoyed it very much Performance is incredible and it radiates for the first hour For the price I might add it’s a no brainer but always try before you buy

Received this beauty in a blind swap. It sprays on as a mist that lasts all day. Such a beautiful, tropical vanilla with rich ylang ylang blossoms, heady incense, and warm, roasted tonka beans. Wonderful! I sprayed it on around 7 am before leaving on a road trip. The slightly balsamic aspect and incense wore off after an hour or so, leaving floral vanilla. The subtle warm vanilla dry down lasted until I got home the next morning around 2am! I must try the rest of the Maison de la Vanille collection!

Finally found my perfect cold summer days/good mood/ yummy/ sunshine fragrance! It has heavy but yummy notes of vanilla, tonka bean and a strong ylang ylang, which is beautiful. Ylang ylang is one of my fav notes and I adore this. Gives Estee Lauder Bronzed Goddess / Armani acqua sun di gioia vibes but in a much longer lasting and higher quality with a beautiful vanilla-ylang dry down. Very weak bergamot, and not too complex perfume but very beautiful. Could be a crowd pleaser, if not oversprayed.

I have this and I really can't say enough about how fabulous it is. It really melts into your skin in a sexy, seductive way. It's strong but not overpowering and to me, it's quite suggestive. Wear this one when you want to cuddle with a special someone. The best vanilla-based scent I've ever encountered. Slightly spicy, slightly sweet, and 100% sexy.

Ah, Tahiti. You sweet thing you. A lovely, true Vanilla! Touch sugary, bit coconutty. And I can sniff the ylang-ylang and amber in it and I guess along with the bergamot, this is a pretty feel-good fragrance! My girlfriend said that it reminded her of Angel. It doesn't me, but there is a note or two in there which is reminiscent of it. For me, out of the other four I own, Madagascar, Antilles, Mexique and Tropiques, this runs in about 4th place with Tropiques...but I love them all. They're all wonderful!

thick sweet vanilla with tonka and ylang ylang, and something that almost smells boozy to me, kind of smells like a tropical drink. wafting from afar it's so nice, and smells like this ylang ylang ice cream i tried once, so lovely. i almost feel like i smell lemon too but may be the effect of the YY.

I decided to use my sample on a day that I was hot and sweaty. It sounded tropical, so I figured it would be a safe bet. I was wrong. This perfume is vanilla tropical but it is very heavy and dare I say, cloying. It would be much better in cooler weather. The vanilla is very boozy, but I think I would like this if not for the circumstances. I can smell the amber and some spices, but I’m not making out the bergamot or ylang ylang notes. It’s a pretty perfume, it really is, and vanilla lovers will probably really like this. Just beware the season-this is not a summer or hot day fragrance!

Vanille Fleurie de Tahiti by La Maison de la Vanille initially reminded me of the way the hand soap smells at roadside diners. The vanilla was synthetic and the amber way to sweet...but wait! The powder sweet ylang-ylang comes riding in like a white knight with a slightly smoky incense lingering in the background. This is not my “ideal” vanilla fragrance, but I would sell my soul for a decent ylang-ylang scent and ironically I really like the ylang-ylang in this. I had wanted to try this forever and I found an epic deal on ebay so I jumped at the chance to have it! I think it is a fun and unique addition to my collection and I’m happy to have it as sort of a novelty scent!

A note in here clashes and throws the composition off balance. I think it's the ylang-ylang, it attempts to lighten the profile but causes this to be just another sweet floral fragrance instead of a gourmand. This smells like the hand soap in an airplane restroom.

I agree with the review saying this reminds them of urinal cake. When I smelled my arm, I kept wondering why it made me think of a public bathroom. That chemical scent coming off urinal cakes doesn't wear off quickly enough on dry down.

Tahiti Vanilla is quite lovely, in a light floral gourmand kind of way. It started out with a strong kick of orange (almost a chemical cleaner note) that quickly became subtle orange blossom. At least, that’s what my nose gets...I see bergamot listed, but this is more orange-floral than it is bergamot; for those who may fear that a bergamot is too masculine need have no fear that the bergamot here brings that character. It is very feminine and sweet. The vanilla bloomed shortly thereafter, a very sweet and smooth vanilla. The vanilla and orange notes together are very pleasant, light but noticeable. I am tempted to say this is a foody vanilla, as it has a vanilla-frosting kind of smell to it; but it is more than that. It doesn’t smell like a simple, linear vanilla; there is depth here; I see tonka, amber and benzoin and think that they have been used to paint shadow and light into this composition with a light spiciness that is almost like anise. That said, it is a predominantly sweet vanilla. It lacks the annoying vanilla (almond-cashmere-pudding vanilla) note I find in some fragrances and seems more truly vanilla, like a bottle of baking vanilla spilled on my arm. Not something I’ll go back to, but fun to try. Sillage is good, longevity unproven.

I also get marshmallows and also a bit of tiny bit of tartness - citrus, I suppose - upon first application. This goes on rich and candy sweet, like I spilled some vanilla over my arm. Also detect the woodiness at the base, and it's not sandalwood, not powdery, but slightly bitter. It's a bit soapy as well, not sure what element causes this note. After waiting about 30 minutes for the drydown, it hasn't really developed or changed, maybe has a hint more incense. I was hoping the incense would be stronger, or that this might be smoky, but to me it's neither, more like catching a whiff of a package of incense sticks while standing in a cake bakery. My nose doesn't pick out the individual notes, other than, well, vanilla; if there's ylang-ylang, as listed in the description, it's buried in other notes. Long lasting. I would not categorize this as oriental floral, but vanilla gourmand. Or maybe a really, reeeeally sweet vanilla amber. A bit sugary for my tastes. If that's your taste, this is a delicious and quality (not cheap smelling) frag, I recommend.

I didn't like this one as easily as I liked Vanille Givree de Antilles and Vanille Divine des Tropiques, however I'll admit that this fragrance does grow on you. This fragrance opens very strongly and very sweetly. The scent reminds me of raspberry jellies. I'm actually surprised that raspberry isn't listed as a note here. I also smell marshmallows. This is all about fruits and vanilla. If you don't like sugary gourmands, stay clear of this one. I don't get a whole lot of florals in this fragrance, to my nose I detect vanilla, bergamot, ylang-ylang, some berry notes and a subtle, smokey incense lingering in the base. Vanille Fleurie de Tahiti doesn't evolve much throughout its composition. It lacks complexity, however this doesn't bother me so much. The fragrance is unique in a way. The sweet vanilla and fruits smell very much like an expensive and tasty dessert served at a high end restaurant. The scent is very lasting. I had a shower a few hours after applying, and after all the soap and scrubbing, the scent is still there. Not that I mind though.

Losing my smell for the second time now with well getting covid again going through old fragrances and old samples trying to regain my senses and I came upon this one again. And you know what it didn't hit me the first time I smelled this, but once this gets past its opening it actually smells quite similar to Dolce & Gabannas Amber Sun. Not as resinous or as much as that crystalized dark amber that I get from the other as this doesnt really ever remind me of Tom Fords Amber Absolute like the other can. But besides that, all things considered really the similarity is quite striking after the opening and as the fragrance starts to go throughout its life span. Looking at the notes its no wonder why. This of course has a bit more of a potential I guess "clean" smell at the beginning and is more potentially bubble gummy fruity sweet and a bit of a tang almost to it. But really ya, surprised I never saw the association before but going through my fragrances again and samples its really clear now. Anyway I like it personally.

Vanille fleurie de Tahiti reminds me a lot of Candy, particularly sherbet in all it's sugary and intense goodness. But Tahiti manages to be both sweet and sophisticated at the same time. I'm not a huge fan of Ylang Ylang in fragrances. I don't particularly hate it but I'm not to sure where I stand with it however though in this fragrance it smells so beautiful combined with the sweet vanilla and the always refreshing and summery Bergamot. They play off eachother really nicely and you get a bit of warmth from the Amber note which reminds me of the festive season which we celebrate in Summer here in Australia so this fragrance would be perfect for that. On me this is just a lovely sweet and very refreshing vanilla fragrance which would be fitting to wear to a place like the beach- I think this would fragrance would thrive really well in summer and I can not wait to wear it more and see how it wears when the weather starts to warm up again.

My second try in the La Maison de la Vanille sample set, I find Vanille Fleurie de Tahiti even more femininely floral than Vanille Divine des Tropiques. For me, the ylang ylang is the defining white floral aspect of the entire fragrance. In the background are the amber and a pinch of vanilla, but I don't get much more out of this. Performance is good like Tropiques, which ended having excellent longevity for an EDT, my expectation of Tahiti is the same based on its projection through a couple of hours. Overall, it might be pleasant for a woman but doesn't work for me. It's less sweet, but less versatile and unisex than Vanille Divine des Tropiques, for one, but certainly some could prefer this. 6 out of 10

I bought this and three more frags from this house. Except this, all frags lived up to my expectations (vanille noire du Mexique, vanille savage de Madagascar and vanille givrée de Antilles). Unfortunately, as others mentioned there's something in this reminiscent of urinal cakes. The vanilla used in it is of high quality and yum but the floral fruity notes ruin the whole composition in my humble opinion. It's high quality but ain't smell nice. However, an eight-year-old girl loved it and I gave it away. I think kids enjoy it.

This wasn't bad, but wasn't outstanding to me. It starts out with the vanilla and a bit of incense. As it dries down it gets sweeter and sweeter. Not like cake or anything, but like vanilla and fruit. Really sweet, too much for me. Has good lasting power, 6+ hours. I introduced this fragrance to a friend who likes Angel and it's one of her favorites now (though I think the Mexique smells more like Angel). She says she receives many compliments from men when she wears it.

My favorite of the bunch. It’s a white cloud of vanilla. More classically what you would expect when the terms Tahitian vanilla are associated. So it’s not spicy and it’s not deep but it’s light airy vanillin and natural vanilla with some florals thrown I. To mimic the vanilla orchid. 9-10. Would be a 10-10 but you have to over spray it to get a sillage but once you do it LASTS and you will hear “who smells like a cookie” lol It’s me.... it’s always me.

This is nice from a distance. Up close you can feel that the ylang ylang tries to dominate the scent and makes it somewhat heavy. It gets better on the drydown, it is very feminine and sweet, but needs time on the skin in order to show it's beauty. I have had several samples, I still don't feel the need for a full bottle, but keep it in mind for some reason. I think it deserves to be sampled, it is an interesting sweet little scent.

I guess this is the first dissenting vote. This is my least favorite of all the Le Maison vanilles. There a note that reminds me powerfully of urine cake. I think it's the bergamot and ylang ylang together. They fade off eventually, but the scent lacks the dense lushness of Noire du Mexique or Divine Des Tropiques even then. That onset is terrible though, and really ruins the smooth vanilla.

I got the vanilla sampler set probably 10 years ago from my god mother, and I'm probably 4/5 done with this 15ml. I like this one but it definitely has a sharper, more citrusy floral note (agree with comments that it's the ylang ylang since I like the bergamot in the others). I almost never wear these on their own, I always layer them and they do soften out some of my weirder fragrances.

Was my sample bad? I didn't get anything remotely like Tihota or any of the other ones shown here as 'reminds me of.' I got a cheap muddled vanilla mess. It smells like Vanilla Fields or one of those ilk. It’s a floral vanilla that smells like dated perfume. Can’t scrub it either. It just goes on and on. I rarely hate a scent, but this one is horrific on me. And I hate it.

Definitely a sweet vanilla with a bubble gum note! I guess that's what the tonka and ylang ylang come out as. Very soft throw. Might be a nice spring/fall fragrance, but personally it's not unique enough for me purchase. It smells like vaguely generic young teen vanilla body lotion.

I tested this, and was reminded of something...and then it hit me! It strongly reminds me of the marschmallowy "Love" by Kilian. :) Similar sillage and duration, in my opinion.

Bergamot/ylang beginning...light amber/balsamic vibe sitting underneath...tonka/vanilla balancing everything out. This one has to "grow " on me , I think.
