Bayres Hombre

I sampled La Martina Bayres Hombre two years ago and really enjoyed it. A good friend was kind enough to send me a few samples, so I was grateful to him for the experience. Bayres Hombre sounded great based on the notes pyramid along with some positive comments I read. To me, it smells similar to Terre d'Hermes, but yet it is different enough to stand on it's own two feet, so speak. Although somewhat similar to TdH, I had to search hard to find the vetiver and leather notes. Moreover, this fragrance has a lot more cedar wood as it reminds me of the inside of a cedar chest or a bag filled with cedar chips; it's definitely woody, but more cedar than vetiver. Don't get me wrong...it still smells great, just different so you may be disappointed if you're expecting a TdH clone. Bayres Hombre is a very nice and inoffensive fragrance that is safe for the office or in casual settings. My initial thoughts were that I could see myself wearing this one if given a bottle as a gift because I really love my Terre d'Hermes, Red Vetyver, Grey Vetiver and prefer Wonderwood and other woody fragrances over Bayres Hombre. However, the more I sampled the more I loved and wound-up buying a bottle 2-years ago. It is just a wonderfully refreshing Spring/Summer vetiver/woody fragrance. Finally, BH performs well on my skin; 7+ hours longevity and moderate projection.

I got the shampoo as well, very enjoyable in the shower, and it's been a while since I wore it, and since this was taken out of the database I couldn't post when I wore it. It is a nice cologne although it has resemblance to Terre de Hermes I would say they differ a lot in terms of the notes basically the vetiver and grapefruit are the ones they share, I would pick either depending of the occasion, but I am glad is back in the database.

Always complements right on every time I wear this one and I think now is hard to find, get it while you can. And I am the only one wearing in the Fragrantica community today, I feel special, lol... ;-)

If you like TdH. You will probably love this too. My experience with this one was. It smells identical in the middle and dry down. However the top notes of bayres is quite brighter. Kinda like sparkling bergamot vs dirty oranges. I definitely like this better. It's a step away from the eau fraiche TdH. Price is good,longevity is good,smells great! Check it out if you can find it.

Not bad at all. I own and love TdH Parfum. This is similar, much more woody and peppery with a more gentle opening. Not much to get excited about but I do wear it in Autumn fairly often as it’s a comfortable smell in wet cold days. Safe, pleasant and can be smart or casual.
