Divina Gold Edition

This was a recent blind buy, and I am LOVING this fragrance. I originally had my eye on this because I was looking for something similar to Victoria's Secret's Strawberry and Champagne line (discontinued); I saw on Fragrantica that this scent was close. To me, this smells like a heavier version VS Strawberries and Champagne. I can smell similarities, but I would not say that they are dupes. Divina Gold Edition is a hidden treasure. It starts out at the immediate spray with a blast of soft floral notes, caramel, orange blossom, and a bit of strawberry and champagne. Then this very quickly (within 10 minutes) becomes a very sexy caramel, amber, soft floral and every so slightly powdery scent. On my skin the champagne is barely noticeable and completely disappears within the first 10 minutes. As others have mentioned, there is an underlying incense-y/balsamic note in the dry down. This fragrance is deliciously sexy...very fitting coming from a lingerie line. To me, this scent is addictive, I can't stop smelling my wrist. I think this could be worn all year round, and would do very well in the cooler months. The bottle is very appealing to the eye, and this fragrance is VERY well priced.

Divina Gold is beautiful but not what I was hoping for or expecting going by the notes. It has a slightly retro feel to it like almost like it belongs in a totally different era. That's definitely not a bad thing by all means but I don't think I suit it sadly. Very good longevity & projection

The opening is strong. The florals with the dry, fizzy champagne note can be equally assaulting at first sniff. From the effervescent opening, a light sweetness from the caramel and orange blossom emerges. The composition of the heart and strawberry-amber drydown are so warm and intriguing that it is disappointing that they aren't as bold as the opening. I could imagine this during date night or a weekend getaway but ultimately the low impact of the gourmand notes give this scent no place to go. Perhaps this is a great layering scent but I haven't met a match for it. For some strange reason, I do reach for it. Its very different from my expectations but it's intimate & I'm bound to it. A personal scent in every way. Edit: Not a cool weather fragrance. Shines in warm/hot weather. Smells just like VS Strawberries & Champagne which I missed very much. Sweet & dry!

This opens with the fizzy champagne and a spicy orange blossom. Here it reminds me a lot of a spicy, rich beverage. It calms down a little bit and becomes softer and powdery as the amber seeps through. In the middle the creamy caramel joins the spicy floral making it warmer and cozy. The caramel isn't sticky sweet though it adds a creaminess to the spicy, powdery aroma. When it dries you're left with mainly the amber. This is perfect for colder weather as it's spicy, warm and cozy. I was surprised with the lasting power and sillage as it opens so strong but didn't linger long on me. Overall a warm Oriental Floral, don't let the caramel fool you into thinking it might be gourmand. I kinda wish I got some of the strawbery as I smell no fruitness but none the less a lovely winter fragrance.

I can see why this is such an overlooked perfume. It's not sweet enough for gourmand lovers, and it's not dark enough for the average amber aficionado. I do appreciate how delicate Divina Gold is. How can a perfume that contains strawberry, champagne, caramel and vanilla not smell sugary? Yes, it's fruity and sweet, but in a subtle, soft way. The opening is very bright and crispy, and it's followed by a realistic, grown-up strawberry. This has the best caramel note I've ever encountered. It's as comforting as the smell of burnt sugar and milk can be, but it's not cloying. Longevity is pretty impressive. Wore this to bed and two days later my linen still smells like strawberries and champagne.

I love La Mia Perla and J'Aime La Nuit so I blind bought Divina Gold. This perfume makes big changes between the top and bottom. I got the light, bubbly champagne with the sweet orange blossom at the beginning and just a bit of caramel. I also got a quick bubble gum scent around here. As more caramel comes in, strawberry appears. Then it's gone in a cloud of light incense and/or amber. I have no idea what exotic florals they are using but this is what I get on my skin and I like it. Sillage and longevity are both moderate and I'd wear this in cooler weather because the incense accord is probably too heavy for summer. Interesting is how I would describe this one.

I’m undecided on this one... I like it but it’s definitely not a “love” for me. Based on the notes I’d hoped this would be sweet, creamy, slightly fruity magic but that’s not what I get from it at all. It starts off SHARP, almost “old lady” smelling on me. I was horrified at first. But once it settled the sweetness came through and made it much better. It’s not a candy or gourmand sweetness. It’s a very mature sweetness. The strawberries and champagne pair well together and it gives off an elegance. I don’t get the caramel in this, at least on my skin, which was a letdown but it’s pretty for what it is, nonetheless.

It is a charming scent with beautiful start with notes of champagne and delicate orange blossom though gentle reminiscence of wild strawberries is also present. Already 5 minutes after the opening one can identify floral notes that are gifting the scent with space and lightness. In the background gentle amber notes and hints of caramel that sometimes gets the most prominent and sometimes stays in the background. Very girly and festive. Beautiful in winter but should be universal. Sometimes I feel it in my nasal passages, so better not to inhale it up close.

Smells like caramel, flowers and citrus in the opening with a slight booze, I sadly can't smell the strawberry in this one in all the phases. The mid is caramel and florals, the drydown is a smoky caramel. Sillage is moderate to heavy on the first 3 hours then becomes a skin scent. Lasts 10 hours on my skin. Too 'kiddie' for office use, but will work with any other situation except really hot days.

To me smells artificial strawberries (not a fan of berries at all),like "sweet girls drinks champagne". Unfortunately I don't smell any incense and spices. I layer it with some plain scents to brighten them. I will pass FB, I am lucky again to have a tiny decant received by sweet Fragrantican.

Sweet caramel, not cloying, not enough for gourmand lovers. I like.

I've had Divina EDT. Nice, not Wow, a bit sharp floral for my taste, and has that certain screech note that makes my head ache. Moved it on. But these notes - they were so me - perhaps the EDP? Nice, not Wow, and an even sharper note that causes that pain right in the middle of my forehead. Moved along. Divina Gold? Sure to be a better fit? Alas, no. Same sharp note. It's a floral note, but it's not orange blossom because I generally love orange blossom - at least I have in other fragrances. It's definitely something floral, but the only other floral reference is "exotic floral" which means....what? What is it? I want to love this but this one little something is standing in my way. Whatever it is, it's not a natural note - it's something chemical. It's very much like the fake floral scent in a floor or bathroom cleaning product. It really stands out on first application, and unfortunately hangs around through to drydown. I get the champagne sparkle, and a bit of the caramel sweetness, but no wild strawberry. I can detect the orange blossom in the drydown, but the screech lives on. I've tried layering it with various other fragrances in an attempt to "soften" it somehow, but no luck. If you can get past the sharpness in this fragrance, it could be quite pleasant, but I can't so - it's available for swapping if anyone's interested. It lasts about 5-6 hours and has decent projection - slightly more than arm's length (hubby complained from the sofa).

When I first tried this I was disappointed and I didn't enjoy it. It's been really cold in London this week...I tried the Dior Cherie Le Parfum in my lunchbreak and enjoyed the amber in it so I thought I would try this again. Divina Gold seemed to really come into its own in the cold weather and I actually found it pleasant. On the first spray it opens smelling like the original Divina but an amped up/spiced version. The orange blossom smells spicier - it reminded me of an orange liqueur. This settles quickly into the scent of the middle notes of Divina, but in this version it smells softly wrapped in sweet caramel. Not a super sweet toothache smelling caramel. A soft warm caramel. I found the amber started to creep through into the background rather quickly. It added a richness and extra warmth to the middles notes. A heaviness. The perfume stays this way for quite a while - sweet, pleasant, yet warm and rich. The amber gradually takes over the scent and becomes the main note, the edges softened by the caramel - a faint ghost of the strawberry in the background. A slight smokiness is apparent. The complete drydown I found to be just amber and the sleeve of my top the next day was just straight up amber, nothing else. But it smelt a lot better on my skin on the drydown than on my clothing. Definitely one just for colder weather. I also think it had less sillage than the original. I feel this one may divide the camps for reviews because of the strength of the amber.

Divina Gold smells very incense/spicy and flat/linear on PAPER. I don't get fruit or caramel.... it's a floral spicy church scent (like someone said.... lol...) However... just like J'Aime... this changes and I'm getting whiffs of unexplained sweet and smoky. I also get some notes that remind me of J'Aime. My verdict on La Perla scents is they are well made and absolutely need to be worn because they change. J'Aime is very floral/jasmine but I find myself going "what is that nice sweet scent?" when I wear it. I have a napkin with Divina Gold on it.... and I'm getting smoky sweet whiffs now. These scents are fun because you never know what you will get. I certainly don't get strawberry or champagne or caramel... but I'm liking this so far. Def warm and rich, and today is about 15F degrees. (winter in Michigan) Agreed that this is no gourmand. Which is a bummer because gourmands are my faves. On a napkin test, sillage and potency are comfortable. Not a huge bomb, but it didn't disappear either. Since this was a blind buy, with strawberry, caramel, and champagne.... I was afraid it would be another "Skull and Roses" Ed Hardy type... so this incensey scent is a decent surprise. I don't love it, but it's different and nice.

I am a fan of the original Divina, a bright, pretty and different scent, but my first impression of Divina Gold wasn't great. The scent is a bit spicy, a bit woodsy with a bitter undertone, I think the notes clash, maybe the wormwood and the orange blossom , not sure. It also has a bit of an earthy/damp smell. The drydown gets nicer and sweeter but the scent is quite exotic and smells of Indian spices, so I am not overly impressed and people around me find it smokey smelling, like in a church!! I think some will love it, as for me still undecided.

sweet ,, a cousin for midnight rain and Chopard wish (classy sweetness) not sticky or girlish candies.. lovely and reasonable for winter ..
